Phoenix, AZ — We are happy to announce the launch of a humanitarian music CD that pushes for earned and legal immigration. We believe in communicating through art and music. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once penned: “Music is the universal language of mankind — poetry their universal pastime and delight.” Many of us have fond memories when it comes to lyrics we identify with in songs sung by the likes of Bob Marley, Guns N’ Roses, Led Zeppelin, Rage Against the Machine, Pink Floyd and so forth. How is it that a John Lennon or Marvin Gaye song has everlasting global and sustaining reach when they sing of peace or war? We have come to the absolute conclusion that musicians and great writers are the ones who come up with memorably coined phrases and quotes leaving a lasting global ripple effect.

The Tequila CD consists of music created by new emerging Latino artists and poets across the country. Throughout 2011 & 2012 the National Tequila Party Movement visited universities and cities in an effort to help get out the Latino vote pushing support for pro immigrant politicians. We hosted tequila party rallies (countering the extremist tea party movement) in states such as Arizona, Nebraska, Kansas, Nevada, Texas, Florida, New York, Indiana, Michigan, and more. New emerging Latino artists performed at our tequila rallies and created songs with regard to the immigration movement.

A portion of our CD sales will go to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students since they have to approximately $575.00 for documentation fees + attorney fees, and the other portion of our CD sales will go to Mexican-American artists who helped contribute their talents to this important message.

Our goal is to communicate through music with regard to the humanitarian aspect of immigration. Mexicans and other immigrants are not asking for a handout – they are seeking earned legal immigration reform. Chicanos and American citizens are here to push the American Dream, and we know that when our Nation continues to be a Beacon and a light to the Globe – blessings come our way.

The launch of our Tequila CD will take place on April 5, 2012. We will be having a concert to promote our CD in the heart of where the draconian anti-immigrant law originated.

Date: Friday, April 5, 2013

Time: 7:00 pm

Music taps into emotions of the human spirit and it also connects it to a memory. The world is ready for new and emerging talented lyricists and musicians who are able to express ideas that embrace love, life, and positive political messages. Musicians who have a sincere concern for the direction of our nation ought to rise up — because the time is now for their message to be received by others in the most memorable medium possible.

They say Spanish is the language of love and it is wonderful to hear the fusion of English and Spanish music challenging hate and bigotry.

A friend forwarded me a story today written by David Nakamura of the Washington Post. The story is about advocates fearing gun control will divert Obama from immigration reform.

I believe gun control can take political capital away from fixing the broken immigration system, too, if Mexican-Americans do not have a strong grassroots political movement, and if Mexican-American politicians do not step up to the plate.

Gone are the days for Latinos to hold up a victim card because IMMIGRATION IS A FEDERAL ISSUE. Obama has the power to eliminate the “Arpaios” and the racial profiling goon squads in his 2nd term now. This is exactly

Ranking by Population — Pew

why I voted for Obama in 2012 because I know he doesn’t have to worry about getting re-elected. This is a hot button issue and again … the immigration issue is a federal one under the Supremacy Clause of our United States Constitution. Be reminded that both Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush waited til they were re-elected into their 2nd term before addressing immigration. Everyone knows that a 2nd term President no longer has to worry about being re-elected, therefore, the Obama administration has clout — particularly when the Democratic Party still holds the majority seats in the Senate.

More importantly, everyone knows how women and Mexican-American / Latinos helped Democrats maintain their power on November 6, 2012. Women and Latinos made a resounding voting statement in 2012 and Democrats cannot afford to lose that momentum.

Remember when Congressman Luis Gutierrez threatened Latinos would stay home and not vote in 2012 because Obama didn’t pass immigration reform within his 1st term? (I really like Gutierrez — I really do, but he is Puerto Rican and he needs to be careful with painting with a broad brush especially since Mexican-Americans have been working hard on getting out the vote. Several did not think the “don’t vote” message was productive). Mexicanos must get out the vote because that is the only way they can show Washington D.C. that we are paying attention and it is a way to flex our political muscle.

That said, it was interesting for me to see how Nakaruma quoted Cuban-Republican Sen. Marco Rubio. Doesn’t he know Cubans only make up 3% of the entire Latino population? More importantly, doesn’t Nakaruma know that Rubio supported the controversial SB 1070 and did not support the DREAM Act when we needed it the most? The person to seek a quote from is Sen. Robert Menendez (also Cuban-American) who has taken the initiative to put an immigration reform bill on the floor.

Who are the ones mostly getting deported? It’s isn’t the Cubans — it is the Mexicans who were deported in record numbers, therefore, it makes sense to talk to more Mexican-American leaders who are feeling the pain the most because they are the ones who have witnessed their extended families forced apart and deported.

Where are the quotes of Mexican-American Representatives as it relates to where most of the population is at in the southwestern part of the United States? Raul Grijalva, Ed Pastor, Toney Anaya, Xavier Becerra, Loretta Sanchez, Linda Sánchez, and so forth? Had the Democratic Mexican-American woman and candidate via Amanda Aguirre been elected this past year, we would have seen her take the bull by the horns on this issue.

Make no mistake, we are now living in the Information Age where keeping track of the Mexican-American politician(s) is easier with regard to their voting records and the initiatives they have taken at the Hill. I am a mere writer who has no political power — and the ones who have the power are those elected officials who have been elected to push policies that will fix broken things at the Hill. Again, Arpaio’s racial profile regime can end when Congress fixes the clearly broken system.

It is critical for the Mexican-American voters to keep track of their Mexican-American representatives (particularly in the southwestern part of the United States where Mexicans dominate in population growth). Where is the strong Mexican-American congressional politician at to take the lead on immigration since the immigration issue is a federal issue under the Supremacy Clause? We all know the Supreme Court reinforced the Supremacy Clause issue during the summer of 2012 when most of SB1070 was shredded and gutted. Chicanos must work harder and be more assertive. It is a good idea for the DREAM Act students to assert themselves because the political game is all about the ante up while raising the call. While the DREAMers ante up via protests, Mexican-American and/or Latinos who agree with reasonable immigration ought to find what both sides can agree on and build from there. Note: Mexican-Americans and Chicanos will more than likely not be for building a class of people who are paying into the federal tax reserve system without proper representation.

Can we address both gun control on automatic / assault-type of weapons and fixing the broken immigration system?

I believe we can do both.

Nonetheless, I am curious what readers think and believe this poll is necessary to ascertain intelligence.

Inauguration Day is coming up, and we should take a proactive position on policies instead of a reactionary one.

In the meantime … do pray for the safety of our United States President. These are two tough issues, and I’m concerned about the volatility of both the gun and immigration issue under the Obama administration. Do you know how many racists in Arizona love their automatic and assault rifle weaponry? Two examples from Arizona I have are J.T. Ready and Shawna Forde that will point to my concern with regard to how wacko racists with guns can be.

In the meantime, please take the poll below. I voted “no” because I think we can address both issues in a productive and reasonable manner.

apparently the rumor is stemming from below tweet by Brahm Resnik of Channel 12.

I just spoke with West Kenyon, campaign advisor to Mike Stauffer and he told me that Mike Stauffer is in the race to win. Independent voters are the 2nd largest voting bloc in Maricopa County and in Arizona (surpassing Democratic voters) and this is precisely why we are supporting Mike Stauffer for sheriff.

We know that Stauffer will pull moderate Republican votes as well as Independent voters. Paul Penzone will more than like pull Democratic votes.

We also know that independent voters lean conservative in our state, which is why Mike Stauffer is a strong conservative candidate. Stauffer left the Republican Party after being a long life GOPer.

I repeat: Independent candidate Mike Stauffer is fully in the race despite rumors circulating out there.

Furthermore, I was informed by Stauffer campaign:

“….that the “no activity” page was mistakenly included in their online finance filing. It is obviously an error since the rest of the report shows activity. A biased reporter ran with a story based on assumptions instead of real research.”

Be advised, both Party bosses are shook up about independent voters and both have tried to minimize our independent voice.

If you are sick and tired of the partisanship of the 2 major Party system, and if you believe that both major parties have failed Americans then please vote for independent conservative Mike Stauffer for Sheriff and vote YES TO PROP 121 – Arizona Open Primary!

Brahm Resnik is wrong. Mike Stauffer for Maricopa County Sheriff IS STAYING in race to win moderate Republicans and Independent voters.

Joe Arpaio has been spending millions of dollars against Democratic Paul Penzone and in fact exposed Penzone’s domestic violence Glendale Police report and the Protection order filed by his ex-wife.

Below is a mass mailer that hit every mailbox in our County, and we predicted Arpaio would attack the weakest candidate based on the domestic history. More importantly, there are more women voters than male voters in our State — and Arpaio really hurt Penzone on that front. We cannot support flawed and weak candidates and we have to support independent Mike Stauffer for Maricopa County Sheriff because there are more of us and we are the 2nd largest voting bloc now.

Misogyny and misanthropy is alive and well in the political world. Most women politicos have known this for some time. In fact, I remember both men and women take issue with Hillary Clinton being referred to as a “shrill“. Women, especially Hillary Clinton supporters loathed it. These days men are referring to women as a princess and so forth in an effort to minimize their hard work and activism. Bottom line, if women don’t agree with them … they will do whatever it takes to minimize those women. These same men have the audacity to criticize a woman who quits her career for the immigration cause. The below is a sexist remark, and the reason why the writer doesn’t believe it isn’t a sexist remark is because he is a man.

At one point in Arizona, male politicos screamed, cried and kicked when Republican State Senator Scott Bundgaard abused his girlfriend, yet now we have these same men wanting to turn a blind eye to candidate Paul Penzone? They are mad because I’m a woman independent voter who supports Mike Stauffer for Sheriff? This does not compute.

My actions speak for itself with regard to how far I will travel to protest the corrupt Sheriff Joe Arpaio … so much so we drove over 5000 miles in order to protest him at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida. In fact, we have been protesting Arpaio at his own Catholic Church at Fountain Hills, Arizona.

Yet, these male chauvinists will make every attempt to steal a woman’s hard work and minimize her efforts. Below is just one little sliver of what we do. Misogynists look the other way when women in politics are out in 104 degree weather protesting Arpaio at church, and they look the other way when we travel thousands of miles to help a family who lost a loved one (DREAM Act student), and they certainly look the other way when a woman protests the Republican National Convention.

….Back to why bloggers are mad about my support for Mike Stauffer (Independent candidate) instead of the alleged wife beater via Paul Penzone….

Below are photos I took from the Arizona Republic Newspaper. You can see Scott Bundgaard’s bruises but you cannot see Aubrey Ballard’s bruises and this is because Aubrey had her bruises on her breasts, knees and elsewhere. Just on it’s face value, one could easily assume that the woman abused Mr. Bundgaard. This was not the case. Through extensive testimony at a hearing I attended, I personally saw photos of Aubrey’s cuts and bruises on other parts of her body.

Just because I am an independent voter who is against political candidates who have shoved their wives into a doorway leading to documented injuries, does not mean I have to turn a blind eye to that. Sorry. No can do. I refuse to turn a blind eye to men who abuse their wives. Paul Penzone is a very large man, and for any larger person to pick on smaller framed women should not be tolerated. Again, Susan B. Penzone told the Glendale Police that he followed her and shoved her into the doorway. You can read the entire police report here. And since most people don’t like to read everything, I’m going to hone in on “her side of the story” because I’m a woman who used to help supervise the Protection From Abuse case desk when I worked as a Trial Court Clerk in a US District Court. By and large I saw women who were abused, not men, and even though there have been men who have been abused by women — mostly it is men who take advantage of their large scaled body and strength over a woman.

Furthermore, like Scott Bundgaard, it is my opinion that Paul Penzone knew how to work the system and invoke some professional courtesy and/or get out of the bad situation that could cost him his weapon and his job. Remember when Scott Bundgaard used his “I’m a Senator card” in order to have his abused girl take the fall?

Question #1: Why didn’t the investigator interview the neighbor who saw the abuse going on between Susan and Paul Penzone?

Question #2: Why didn’t Penzone’s son get interviewed?

Question #3: Why was Susan Penzone the first person to call 911 and hung up? (Did she feel like the police protect their own? She was scared enough to call her lawyer). By the way, I am former law enforcement, and I did see professional courtesy extended to fellow officers so we can’t pretend this doesn’t exist and rule this out.

Question #4: Why was Susan Penzone successful in obtaining a Protection Order where the Courts viewed Paul Penzone (the Defendant) as a credible threat (enough so to take his weapon away)?

Indeed, Susan B. Penzone told the Glendale Police Department that Paul Penzone pursued her when she went for some hockey sticks, and then shoved her into the doorway leading to a documented injury. It appears she struck back in defense after he shoved her.

I realize I have agitated people who want me to shut up with regard to shedding light on Paul Penzone’s domestic violence background — but there is more to the alleged wife beating incident.

For instance, like the Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, Penzone doesn’t even have a college degree, yet he wants to lead the 3rd largest Sheriff’s County in the country. Penzone does not have the experience to run a complex organization because if you take a look at his personnel records, you will find that his top rank was that of only a sergeant. He could not make it to lieutenant, and he expects us to believe he can run one of the largest sheriff’s department in the Nation? In addition, Penzone focused on media relations than actual field operations work. We have already established that the corrupt Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a media whore, but now let’s take a look at what Penzone did before he retired in 2009.

2004 – Penzone’s performance record highlights consisted of appearing on the Povich show.

2005 – Penzone’s performance record highlights consisted of appearing on the Povich television show, Channel 3, Channel 12 and radio.

2006 – Penzone’s performance record highlights consisted of working with the local media on the PEAK, KTAR, ESPN, Channel 12 News Detective Files and so forth.

2007 – Penzone’s performance record highlights consisted of being assigned to the Public Affairs Bureau. Let’s not forget the presentation given to the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. One wonders if he received perks or free tickets with the Diamondbacks?

2008 – Penzone’s performance record highlights consisted of working with local media again and the laborious job in helping with a Golf Tournament.

2009 – Penzone’s performance record highlights consisted of (again) working with radio, print, and television media. They highlighted the fact that his span of control was six employees. A mere six employees!? And he wants to run the 3rd largest county sheriff’s department in the nation?!

Six years before Penzone retired in 2009, his notable accomplishments were in media, helping in golf tournaments, giving presentations to Arizona Diamondbacks employees, getting a free Escalade for the department, and more golf tournaments. Where is candidate Paul Penzone’s experience in FIELD OPERATIONS where it matters? Where is his detention experience? Where is his command leadership experience at? Did you know in his last year before he retired he managed 6 employees? Yet, he wants us to believe that as a sergeant — he can lead the 3rd largest sheriff’s department in the Nation?

The Penzone supporting bloggers have no experience in law enforcement. I DO! I know what really matters and we don’t need another media whore in Arizona. This is why I support Mike Stauffer who is Joe Arpaio’s strongest opponent.

See the below excerpt of Paul Penzone’s performance record showing he managed a whopping 6 employees. Yet, he wants you to believe he can lead the 3rd largest sheriff’s department in the Nation?

Paul Penzone Performance Report excerpt dated January 31, 2009

In addition to Penzone spending his last years with the Phoenix Police Department in public affairs. He was coined as a Nancy Grace Suck Up by writer James King (who actually produced well written stories). Since then he has moved to New York, Arizonans like me sure do miss his real work.

I’m not the only one who thinks Penzone is a type of media whore. Look at this headline:

What I find interesting is how some of these Paul Penzone supporters were very quick and loud in giving Scott Bundgaard hell for abusing his authority when he abused his girlfriend, yet here they are turning a blind eye to Penzone’s domestic violence background. You cannot run a Republican through the slaughter house for abusing his girlfriend, and on the flip side ignore another candidate’s domestic violence nature just because he has a (D) beside his name.

There was an actual Protection Order filed against Paul Penzone when the Judge stated he was a credible threat against the Plaintiff and had his weapon and ammunition taken away.

See below protection order (click to enlarge):

Paul Penzone was ordered to turn in his firearm to Glendale Law Enforcement agency via Protection Order filed by his wife when she told the police he struck her.

Last but certainly not least, the below is why Mike Stauffer will beat the corrupt sheriff Joe Arpaio. You would think so called writers would spend more of their time attacking people who have abused their authority and hit women, but instead, I see these hypocrites attacking a brown woman who refuses to look the other way on domestic violence.

I want to personally thank bloggers out there who are exposing the alleged wife beating Paul Penzone for who he really is, and for giving Mike Stauffer the much needed name recognition he needs. Mike Stauffer will replace Arpaio because I know most Republicans in our state cannot support a man with a (D) next to his name. Independents, Republicans, smart Democrats and Libertarians are behind Stauffer this year.

I keep hearing about politicos and politicians say things like “whoever has the most money” will win the election for Maricopa County Sheriff’s department.

If that is the case, then does that mean Sheriff Joe Arpaio will automatically win the 2012 elections with his $5 million dollar war chest?

Not hardly.

So why are politicians saying this?

More than likely they have been struck with fear since their districts have been redrawn.

For instance, legislative district 18 looks completely different now. According to a report from the Maricopa County Recorder’s Information System Center dated April 9, 2012, there were 38% registered Republicans, 35% registered Independents (or other), and 25% registered Democrats in LD 18. But now the “new” LD 18 has approximately 33% democrats instead of just 25%. It looks like Jerry Lewis might start schmoozing up to more Democratic voters due to the 8 point change with the new redistricting lines.

Old Legislative District 18 in blue, and new LD 18 in red shaded area in orange circle.

So let’s compare the Democratic candidates today, shall we?

You have Democratic candidate John Rowan who used to be an assistant to the Police Chief — so he kind of has a bit of executive experience, and on the other hand, you have another Democratic Paul Penzone who is a mere retired Phoenix Sergeant with no “command” or lieutenant experience at all. In fact, James King, who used to write for the Phoenix New Times said it best when he equated Paul to a Nancy Grace suck-up when he wrote about the priciest Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Nobody has submitted their signatures to be on the ballot for Maricopa County Sheriff, yet, except for one man — Lt. Mike Stauffer. Mike Stauffer has held command positions and it will take a person with “command” experience to convince Independents, Moderate Republicans, Blue Dogs, and female voters to win this thing. It doesn’t take “just money” … it takes convincing voters (you know, the people who go to the polls and vote).

Yes, campaigns need money — and Mike Stauffer has that, however, MONEY WILL NOT BUY VOTERS WHEN THEY MAKE THEIR DECISIONS AT THE POLLS.

From the Stauffer campaign:

While my opponents are busy amassing money and cozying up to special interests, I have been working on real solutions and plans that will be implemented when I take office.

I have also been talking directly to you, the people of Maricopa County. Walking neighborhoods and speaking to small groups provide me with the opportunity to hear your concerns. I will carry on this accessibility and outreach to you when I take office as your sheriff.

Here is an overview of solutions for MCSO:
http://www.votestauffer.com/Stauffer2012/The_Mission.html

Now that I have qualified for the November ballot with the largest number of nominating signatures for the office

Lt. Mike Stauffer for Sheriff 2012

of sheriff in at least the last 20 years, our campaign will be moving on to the next step on our road to victory.

Unlike my opponents, I am not playing politics. I am presenting you with my professional experience and with real plans to bring an organizational and cultural change to the MCSO. This is what you would expect of any applicant for a position of this kind. I stepped up to the plate two and a half years ago, committed to bring my 29 years of law enforcement and administrative experience to the task of restoring professionalism, integrity, and dignity to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

We should no longer accept the empty suit candidates hungry for power and lacking experience or credible plans for moving the office forward. Our campaign has been and will continue to be engaged in a countywide, community oriented presentation of our concrete plans directly to the people.

My 30 year record speaks for its self. I encourage each of you to examine my work experience, my record, and engage me in the tough questions. It’s Time for real solutions and getting the job done.

This cartoon depicting Republican Nebraska Governor Heineman as a pro life hypocrite is on point. Talk about politicians who beat up on ‘girls’ — the Nebraska Governor takes the cake and makes the Democratic Ben Nelson look good.

Apparently the Governor of Nebraska thinks it is safe to pick on undocumented women who choose to keep their babies since he really does not have to worry about their votes in the immediate sense- and this seems to be the path Republicans are now willing to embrace. The Nebraska Gov is placing a safe bet going against those who don’t have a right to vote.

The new face of the Republican Party now consists of Kris Kobach (architect of voter suppression and anti-immigrant laws), FAIR, NumbersUSA, Russell Pearce, Joe Arpaio, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, Andrew Thomas, Tom Tancredo, Steve King, Lamar Smith and etc. Kris Kobach is the architect of anti-immigrant and anti-Latino legislation via FAIR. Kris Kobach is advising GOP Candidate Mitt Romney. FAIR began with the likes of John Tanton — a man who is on the record for stating he is anti-Catholic and has contributed to the Pioneer Fund. It’s no wonder Moderate Republicans are fleeing the Republican Party in droves due to unreasonable tea party extremism.

Latinos will not put their faith in anti-Latino immigrant legislators in 2012. I have money on it.

Board members of FAIR actively promote the sterilization of Third World women for the purposes of reducing U.S. immigration prospects. And if anything disturbs the good doctor more than those Latin American hordes crossing the Rio Grande, it’s the likelihood that most of them are Catholic, or so he once told a Reuters reporter.

Boy, you really have to hand it to these hypocritical Republicans who claim to be for less taxes — don’t ya?

[By the way, the name "Burnin' Vernon" is an idea I received from James King -- an ol' Phoenix New times journalist. I would have enjoyed the Burnin' Vernon series from him had he stayed in Phoenix area (but he left Arizona and now he works in New York.]

Vernon Parker, a Republican candidate for Congressional District 9, seem to support the fire service fee [a/k/a tax], which the current Mayor and Town Council of Paradise Valley are attempting to force on their residents. Parker, who is a member of the Paradise Valley Town Council despite his candidacy for congress, was one of six votes supporting the fee. The worst part is the fact that Paradise Valley had a balanced budget and millions in reserves — yet is proposing this fee.

According to some of those Tea Party hypocritical Republicans…Washington is already full of unaccountable politicians who do nothing but tax-and-spend, yet we see before our very eyes Arizona Republicans doing the same thing.

I need to verify the information within H.B. 2060 but from my read of the bill it appears that Catholics are subject to tax. A phone call to Kevin McCarthy is in order because the bill has to do with a municipality of less than twenty thousand persons (a/k/a Paradise Valley), and certain entities are exempt. It doesn’t appear that the Catholics are exempt and this needs to be clarified. Why aren’t Catholics schools exempt?

Why is Chuck Coughlin (hired gun) seemingly trying to pass special legislation to circumvent the public hearing process? Is this a way for the city council to circumvent the public so that the county assessor collects the fee [tax]?

If a person (like Burnin’ Vernon) is elected to public office, then politicians should PUBLICLY state their policy direction. In other words…don’t be a public servant and run for political office if one doesn’t expect to be transparent, right?

Now let’s talk about these so-called fees, shall we?

A fee (for instance) is something that you would pay if you want to take a toll road or a light rail. If people don’t want to voluntarily pay a fee — then they can either take a different road or drive their own cars or bikes to avoid paying these special fees. However, if you take a look at this HB 2060 bill — you will find that these fees are “involuntary” — in other words it has to be paid and the county collector expects to collect it.

There ya have it, folks. It looks like Burnin’ Vernon is supporting new taxes in Paradise Valley. So much for less taxes and smaller government.

Latinos are fed up with Democratic politicians like Sinema paying them lip service.

See this story from liberal democratic voter – Abe Morales of Tucson Citizen below.

Kyrsten Sinema proud of her right-wing anti-immigrant bill SB1225

It gets ‘better’ though….Vernon Parker is also running in this same district. We remember Vernon Parker who ran a circus in 2010 when he decided to demonize my people by siding with the infamous Joe Arpaio and running a bus tour program with his fans at the border. Can you believe that? Vernon Parker thought it was cute to have these Joe Arpaio trips to the border and guess where they got him in 2010?

He lost.

Where was Vernon’s tour for Arizona taxpayers when Joe Arpaio wasted millions of our dollars? Where was Vernon at with regard to Mr. Arpaio’s deputies who failed to investigate or conducted only the sketchiest of inquiries into more than 400 sex crimes between 2005 and 2007? Many of those cases involved molested children. But what is worse is how Vernon is supposed to be some kind of leader in Christian ministry but does not love his neighbor as his Jesus instructs. [Under Vernon's rules, he would have had his own Jesus and his disciples arrested when one of the disciples picked to eat on the Sabbath Day since they were not supposed to "work" on the Sabbath.]

See where this is going?

On one hand, you have Vernon Parker (Republican candidate) who ran a Joe Arpaio circus in 2010 as he demonized Latinos, and on the other hand, you have a Democratic candidate via Kyrsten Sinema who wanted to get tough on immigration. Both sides wanted to flex their anti-immigrant muscle or get tough on immigration muscle. Both are tied to losers. Sinema is tied to Russell Pearce while Vernon is tied to the corrupt Joe Arpaio.

So where does that leave Latinos?

It should hella lead them to the Independent Party. It’s too bad Marty didn’t run as an Independent candidate to bypass all this party bullshit.

A little bit about Marty:

Martin Sepulveda is a seventh-generation Arizonan who serves his country, state and community in many different capacities. He is a combat Veteran, community leader, accomplished businessman, and devoted family man.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Arizona State University in 1983. Following graduation, Martin enlisted in the US Marine Corps and subsequently earned a commission in the US Navy. In 1988 he left active military service to pursue his civilian career but continued to serve in the United States Navy Reserve. Today, he is a Commander in the Navy Reserve.

In 1988, Sepulveda began his professional career in public sector economic development. He transitioned into the private sector, when he joined McCarthy Builders Southwest, where he was responsible for business development in the Southwest region and Mexico.

In 2000, Martin founded Sepulveda Group in response to a demand from companies moving to Arizona requiring customized real estate development solutions. His clients range from individual investors to Fortune 100 corporations.

Martin served two terms on the Chandler City Council – March 1995 to January 2000 and June 2004 to January of 2009. As a community leader, Martin served in a variety of capacities including the Executive Board of the East Valley Partnership, Vice President of the Chandler Historical Society and on the Chandler Education Foundation.

Martin lives in Chandler, AZ with his wife Sheree. Their daughter Natalie is a graduate of the University of Arizona and son Marc is a Navy Reserve Corpsman who recently returned from Afghanistan after completing his second combat tour of duty.

Mike Stauffer for Sheriff has already acquired almost 25,000 signatures as of last night.

This proves how much support Mike Stauffer is receiving from a broad political spectrum. His campaign has strong Libertarian, Independent, Republican and Democratic support. He is now just shy of 25,000 good signatures. There is NO DOUBT that Mike is getting on the ballot. His campaign has already checked their signatures in the data base and they are running a well organized campaign.

Much of his success in collecting these signatures in just over a month was solidly based on voter’s disgust with party politics, Democrat or Republican, owning the Sheriff’s office. Stauffer says “There is absolutely no room for partisan politics in law enforcement.” We need an Independent candidate who can garner broad political spectrum support as was the case during the Jerry Lewis campaign. MIKE STAUFFER CAN DO THAT. There are approximately 1/3 Republicans, 1/3 Independents, and just under 1/3 Democratic voters in the state of Arizona. The State of Arizona is not yet ready for a Democratic candidate because the Democrats have tried to oust Arpaio for about 20 years to no avail.

We cannot take a risk on yet another Democratic candidate when the Independent voters in our state have an inclination to swing more conservatively. Furthermore and more importantly, there is a reason why Richard Carmona is running as an Independent in our state.

Independent Candidates restores moderation from extremism and the State of Arizona is well known for extremism.

The electorate of Maricopa County are making it very clear that they will vote for credentials over party affiliation. This could not have been exhibited more clearly then during the recall election and ousting of Russell Pearce.

Every day, Arizonan’s are proving their very independent nature and are now taking action against radical party agendas. George Washington himself warned that party affiliation can easily overshadow the true good of the people and Arizona is a prime example.

Someone with the most basic understanding of elections knows, that at this juncture the only hope Maricopa County residents have is to have a credible Independent candidate face Arpaio in the general election. Mike Stauffer is that candidate. Stauffer is the only candidate for sheriff who has a documented plan and a vision for everyone. He is also the only candidate to hold a Masters Degree in Organizational Management, further demonstrating his credibility both at a personal and professional level and as the leader of choice.

The Latino community especially is encouraged to know there is a candidate that is knowledgeable and prepared to rebuild community relations and bring honest law enforcement back to the residents.

Voters from communities across the county are fed up with politicians and are marching for change.

The voters must stand united now and elect a true leader in the law enforcement community, a true statesman and a man who has a proven 29 year law enforcement career, spanning all facets of policing. Mike Stauffer is the man we need to lead us out of nearly 20 years of corruption.

This November 6, tell the state, the nation, the world, that you are secure in your independent voting decisions, and will no longer be lead by corrupt political agendas.

It’s TIME for Mike Stauffer to replace Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

JOE ARPAIO IS GOING DOWN! He is going down in much the same way Russell Pearce went down.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

March 19, 2012

CAMPAIGN COLLECTS WELL OVER 20,000 SIGNATURES

The Mike Stauffer for Maricopa County Sheriff campaign is pleased to announce a major victory. We have gathered well beyond the necessary number of nominating signatures needed to be on the November 6th general election ballot.

This marks a significant step toward a win for the people of Maricopa County. You have been the reason for our success in accomplishing our goal of well over 20,000 signature endorsements to serve as the next sheriff of Maricopa County. We are humbled by the strong support from the many thousands of hardworking, concerned citizens as we have traveled throughout the county.

We have taken our message to every city and town in the county and we will not stop. You appreciate our message: “There is no longer room for the Republican or Democratic party to run the sheriff’s office. It’s time for a non-partisan, experienced, professional law enforcement leader who is not subject to extremest party political agendas.” The intense support given to our campaign across the county by voters of all political affiliations is truly overwhelming and the consensus is: “We need an independent leader as our next sheriff.”

This contest has only just begun in earnest and the Mike Stauffer for Sheriff campaign will leave no stone unturned in delivering our message over the next few months leading up to the general election in November.

We know that our Republican and Democratic opponents are now chomping at the bit to discredit YOUR signatures. We fully anticipate our partisan opponents to use party tactics to deny your choice in the upcoming election. However we will take the highroad and not challenge our opponent’s petition signatures.

To ensure your voice is heard, we will continue to give you the opportunity to sign our nominating petition and send a clear message to our partisan opponents that this is YOUR decision NOT theirs.

Thank you again to the many thousands who are supporting this campaign and I look forward to serving you as the next sheriff of Maricopa County.

Sincerely,

Mike Stauffer, Maricopa County Sheriff, 2012
