Arizona Based Immigrant Advocacy Group to appear on Michigan Radio for upcoming Tequila Party rally

Friday, January 6th, 2012

There are several “arm chair and internet revolutionaries” out their in internet world, but the Tequila Party Movement consists of hosting rallies to motivate and increase Latino eligible voters in light of the 2012 elections.  We are not arm chair people — we actually have voter registration drives and create rallies.  We walk the walk with regard to getting out the Latino vote.  The next voter registration rally and DREAM Act rally will be next month.

Please tune in to listen to Victor Ramirez where he will be discussing our next Tequila Party Latino Get Out the Vote Registration Rally and pro DREAM Act

event on Michigan radio.  Why is the State of Michigan important to the tequila party movement?  Because Mitt Romney is one of the 2012 Presidential Primary GOPers who wants to be our next President and he stated he would veto the DREAM Act if he were President.  Therefore we are going to as many college campuses to tell all the students which of the Presidential candidates support DREAM Act students and who doesn’t.  Political education is key in 2012.

Please tune in and listen to a rising young Latino activist who has taken the bull by the horns in the State of Michigan.  I wouldn’t be surprised to hear of Victor being a future Congressman because he is leadership material who has a heart for the immigration causa.

Please tune in tomorrow at 11:00 A.M. EASTERN TIME or 9:00 A.M. ARIZONA TIME.

BREAKING: The “Stop the California DREAM Act” effort failed!

Friday, January 6th, 2012

This is wonderful news!  The attempt to stop the California DREAM Act has failed miserably!

We can rejoice this Friday and justice prevailed.  Compassion for children and youth who have pledged their allegiance to our flag prevailed!

Congratulations to the children and our youth.

Email that was forwarded to me from the Stop the CA DREAM Act heartless people who have no compassion in their hearts whatsoever.  Republicans started this anti-DREAM Act effort.  Sound familiar?  I’m confident that these heartless people would support theRick  recently.

Does the Republican Party want to become the all white party?  They seem to have no mercy and believe in punishing children of color.

Fellow Patriots,

Despite an incredible effort by so many of you and tens of thousands of volunteer circulators working alongside paid petition-gatherers, I regret to inform you that we fell short. 504,760 valid signatures were needed to qualify the referendum for the November 2012 ballot. Although we put in a herculean effort the count as of late last night was 447,514 signatures, which precludes us from submitting the signatures today to the registrar of voters at each of the 58 counties.

This is disappointing news, but it is no less of a warning to Governor Brown, and every Democrat legislator who voted to create a new entitlement program for illegals while the state still has a budget deficit over $9 billion, and cannot even meet it’s obligation to legal California students.

Thank you for joining us in this historic effort as Californians of every age, race, religion, income and political party came together to fight to restore sanity to the Golden State. We may have failed in this first battle, but we will not give up in the war to save California from the reckless politicians who want to raise our taxes to put the college dreams of illegals ahead of our own children.

Your efforts have not been in vain.  We have alerted our fellow citizens to this fiscal nightmare. Today only marks the end of one battle in a war to reclaim our voice in our legislature. This one loss will not dampen our resolve.

It is an honor fighting alongside you in this great cause.

Godspeed,

Assemblyman Tim Donnelly

How did Rick Santorum’s shoe string budget essentially beat Mitt Romney’s million$?

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

Could it be that the pro life movement is not dead?  Just when I was beginning to think the pro life movement was dying, Rick Santorum’s pick up truck and shoe string budget campaign was able to muscle it’s way against Mitt Romney’s million dollar campaign.

The pro life movement has lost a lot of influence….but it is the middle class pro life voters who didn’t hand the elections to Mitt Romney like he had hoped. Much of Rick Santorum’s campaign was saved by the true pro lifers.  We have noticed Mitt Romney avoiding his flip flopping pro life history like the plague, and now Rick has the opportunity to reveal Romney’s past. Die hard pro lifers remember Mitt Romney’s oathe to protect a woman’s right to choose.  If Rick wants to lead a serious campaign, he must get the 80% consistent pro life GOP primary voters into his corner.

From the NEW YORK TIMES:

Out of Santorum’s Lean Operation, a Muscular Result

On caucus night, Rick Santorum was at the Stoney Creek Inn near Des Moines. He ran in Iowa with a small advertising budget and no speechwriter. More Photos »

By
DES MOINES — Former Senator Rick Santorum’s campaign in Iowa conducted no polls or focus groups, employed no speechwriter and had no security presence until a few days ago. “We don’t have a bunch of guys with earpieces running around doing nothing,” he would boast.

He had a skeletal advertising budget — “You can’t buy Iowa,” he would say, deriding his better-financed rivals — and his campaign disclosure forms included itemized receipts from the likes of Target (“food & beverage” expense, $16.48), Walmart (“event supplies/container,” $4.47) and Priceline.com (“Airfare,” $670.84”).

Arizona Senator John McCain has a history of picking losers — first, Sarah Palin and now Mitt Romney

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

Just when you think the whacky state of Arizona couldn’t get any whackier….our Senator John McCain makes a boneheaded move and makes an early endorsement of Mitt Romney a/k/a Mr. Wall Street and anti-DREAM Act. John McCain has a history of picking losers like Sarah Palin who ended up endorsing extremist politicians like Nevada Candidate Sharron Angle and Tom Tancredo of Colorado.  Now he is picking another loser — Mitt Romney.

At least one good thing happened recently when Arizonans saw extremist State Senator Russell Pearce get taken down by a man of reason  and one could easily argue that we are getting back on track in the new millennium during a time when extremist politicians are wanting to take us back to a pre Civil Rights era.   That said, John McCain STILL appears to be holding a grudge against Latinos who overwhelmingly voted for President Obama in 2008.

Why else would McCain endorse Romney early on over Newt Gingrich? Is this McCain’s way of getting a political jab against Rick Santorum since Santorum endorsed Mitt Romney over McCain during the 07/08 Presidential primaries?

Either way, the people of Arizona know McCain has a history of holding grudges and what McCain says and does has little influence when it comes to Latinos.  He used to be the “great white hope” for immigration reform, but it is no longer the case when he voted against the DREAM Act vote in December 2010.

Now John McCain and Mitt Romney are two peas in a pod — both are anti-DREAM Act and they can now both sleep well at night knowing they destroy children’s dreams.

Evaluating Newt Gingrich’s Iowa Concession speech

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

I listened to Newt Gingrich’s Iowa speech where he congratulated Rick Santorum for waging a “positive campaign” and it appeared this was an indirect jab against Mitt Romney since Romney is notorious for running nasty ads filled with rhetoric.

Gingrich also made it clear that his views are extremely different than Ron Paul’s foreign policy views. Newt’s speech in Iowa tonight further demonstrates to me that he will utterly crush Romney in the foreign policy department “as a Republican” much the same way we witnessed Senator John McCain crush Romney  in 2008. Again, Romney has serious “Iran skeletons” that will be exposed in 2012 Senator McCain already exposed in 2007/2008.  Keep in mind that President Obama signed the Iran sanctions early this morning and with Romney’s Iran history this will pose a serious problem with regard and specifically to GOP primaries.

It is clear with regard to the Iowa speech that Newt is flexing his Contract with America experience and touts himself as a “true” Reaganite.  It will take a Reagan on steroids to win the 2012 elections, and Mitt Romney is NO Reagan.  For instance, Ronald Reagan was against socialized medicine, and Mitt Romney has one huge RomneyCare skeleton in his closet to contend with regarding the GOP primaries and Caucus.

We foresee Newt Gingrich staying in the race much like we witnessed McCain stay in 2008.  Gingrich can be paralled to McCain, while Mitt Romney will be paralleled to John Kerry the millionaire — except this time, Romney has a 99% Occupy Wall Street Problem.  The cards are stacked against Mitt because his campaign is built like a house of cards.

Mitt Romney IS Wall Street

Mitt Romney gives the LDS / Mormon Church a bad image. Says he would veto DREAM Act.

Monday, January 2nd, 2012

I am absolutely infuriated with politicians who have absolutely no compassion for our youth.  It’s clear Mitt Romney’s campaign comes with antiquated and pre Civil Rights era ideology.  We have applauded The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints  (LDS / Mormons) for their compassionate views towards the undocumented immigrants.  In fact,  LDS their top leadership has embraced the Utah Compact which is modeled after the Plymouth Compact.  We all know that Mitt Romney is a proud Mormon, so why isn’t he abiding by his own Church leadership views?   We all saw what happened here in the State of Arizona when we saw Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce (another proud Mormon) get successfully recalled and replaced by a moderate, and we will all get to see Romney experience the same fate as Pearce.

The Mormon Church would be wise to support a more compassionate GOPer like Jon Huntsman who does support the Federal DREAM Act over Mitt Romney especially when their church has converted MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of Latinos to their church.   The LDS Community (if they want to grow) should treat Romney like krypto

nite because there is no escaping the digital footprint and flip flopping of Romney’s past.

See the below headlines with regard to Romney having NO COMPASSIONATE VIEWS towards Latino youth via the DREAM Act.  Romney is sending the GOP backward with his views and will help drive in the GOP’s political coffin in the greater part of the southwest when a complete political realignment takes place because of his ancient political views.

Romney stated he will veto the DREAM Act, and as such, Latinos (except for the 3% in Florida who support him) will VETO him in all future election cycles.  He will be lucky to get double digit Latino voting support.

A Republican who has a plan to defeat 2012 GOP Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

I just learned of Republicans who are against GOP Republican Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney.

Letter from Ali A. Akbar, a well known Conservative.

From Not Mitt Romney:

Our Plan to Defeat Mitt Romney

Thank you again for signing up at NotMittRomney.com and joining our ever-growing coalition of conservatives who are putting their feet down and doing what it takes to ensure that moderate, opportunist professional flip flopper Mitt Romney is not the Republican nominee in 2012.  As a friend and a supporter, we wanted to share with you our strategy for stopping Romney in his tracks.

1. Coalition Building

We have already begun this process, which entails tapping courageous activists, bloggers, political operatives, influencers and everyday citizens who are willing to take the following simple, yet powerful unified stand, “Mitt Romney Should Not Be Our Nominee.”  We recognize that this coalition must remain as broad as possible. Our opponents’ greatest wish is that we become marginalized, divided and disorganized, which would result in reduced public support. We stand with the 70-75% of likely Republican primary voters nationwide who haven’t chosen Romney as our nominee. This is a powerful starting point. We will continue building our coalition by leveraging our co-signers, and then we will provide this team with the tools and resources necessary to empower our base and contact thousands of early-state voters in an impactful and viral effort.

2. Our Message

As we have done already and will continue to do, we must use Romney’s own words against him to show that he will make a weak nominee if he wins the Republican nomination.  Head to head national polls taken today pitting President Obama against Romney are utterly meaningless.  Romney’s profound weaknesses as a general election candidate (say anything, do anything to win, no core principles, not a conservative, in the words of Erick Erickson, that we “can trust”) will make him weak next fall in the face of a billion dollar Obama campaign machine  We must (and we will) remind Republican primary voters of this.

We will be quick to point out when any of the other Republican candidates create a clear contrast with Romney’s ever-changing policy positions — and we will also make it clear that Romney creates only a marginal contrast against the failed presidency of Barack Obama.  After all, Romney STILL supports TARP and the wildly unpopular bailouts.  If Romney were to win the nomination, these type of positions will reduce participation among activists and conservatives around the country — blocs that are crucial to the successful “Get Out the Vote” operations that result in winning swing states.

Despite all of these facts, it isn’t our job to present one alternative, but rather many — in fact, any.  However, after Florida (if not right before), we must rally in favor of the highest performing alternative, regardless of whom that is.  Mathematically, this will likely be our only remaining path to defeating Romney for the nomination.  After all, the media is focused at their own national polls, not pledged delegates.  Our effort is focused and targeted.

We also must continue to educate the press.  Our mission is not futile.  We must fight to change the narrative that falsely paints Mitt Romney as the “inevitable nominee,” with the “best chance of winning” which has been constructed by the press because the exact opposite is true.

3. Expose Romney’s Silent Iowa Campaign

The Iowa caucus takes place less than seven weeks from now on January 3, 2012, and Romney’s team has built a silent campaign that is poised to manufacture a serious behind-the-scenes challenge which threatens to win the caucuses with 20-24% of the vote while the conservative candidates divide up the rest.  Our NotMittRomney.com coalition is prepared to take action in Iowa by empowering our supporters through a Virtual Phone Bank that we will be launching in the coming days.  Through the gracious financial support of activists like you, we will purchase a voter list of 15,000+ Iowa voters, particularly high propensity, conservative caucus-goers, and use our Virtual Phone Bank to allow you to begin making calls on your own time immediately.  Our goal is to first rally our base behind the cause, and then focus on broadening our base.

4. Stop Romney in Florida

Florida’s closed Republican primary is January 31, 2012.  We absolutely must prevent Romney from winning Florida.  If we stop him there, he will be significantly less likely to secure the nomination.  In fact, if our plan works and Romney loses Florida, and then we successfully rally the base around one alternative, Mitt Romney will not be the Republican nominee. If Romney does win Florida, however, we must immediately rally around the highest performing — in terms of money, polling, campaign infrastructure, and primary visibility — alternative in order to secure a successful Super Tuesday.  There will be time left to stop the “inevitable” nomination of Romney.

5. On the Ground

If our fundraising successes continue and the grassroots want us to fill this void, we would like to establish field teams in key targeted states.  We believe that these efforts could prove instrumental in defeating Mitt Romney in these crucial states.

As you can see, our strategy is comprehensive, but our success in defeating Mitt Romney is going to rely solely on you at this critical time.  As we mentioned earlier, we will soon be launching our Iowa Virtual Phone Bank.  Please watch your e-mail, as when the time comes, we will need your help to make calls to Iowa voters to remind them why they must not support Romney.  Of course, if you can afford to make a generous $10, $25, $50, or even $100 donation, that would help us continue to fund our critical voter contact efforts.

Thank you for your continued support.  Together, we will ensure that Mitt Romney is not the Republican nominee in 2012.

Sincerely,

Ali A. Akbar, John Hawkins and Matt Mackowiak

Mitt Romney’s GOP “achilles heel” is his pro choice history. Anonymous Text Messages Attack Romney on Abortion in Iowa for upcoming caucus.

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

Is the pro life movement dead within the Republican Party?

Pro life groups seem to be  losing influence and stayed silent when Republican State lawmakers were attacking Birthright Citizenship / 14th amendment.

Who will win the Iowa Caucus?  Will it be Ron Paul?  Newt Gingrich?  Mitt Romney?  Rick Perry?

Iowa is a good leading indicating state to watch because it will tell us whether or not the Pro Life movement and their influence is alive or deadening.  We already know that Ron Paul  is attacking Mitt Romney on his flip flopping pro choice and pro life views, so who will come out at the top?  How strong is the Iowa Right to Life?

Anonymous Text Messages Attack Romney on Abortion in Iowa

Automated anonymous text messages sent to Iowa Republicans just days before they head to their presidential caucuses are telling them that Romney is supposedly not pro-life but relying on outdated quotes to make the claim.

Republicans in Iowa received cell phone text messages yesterday morning, according to MSNBC, saying, “Romney exposed at 2012 caucuses. Romney pro life??”

The parallel and similarities between 2012 Candidate Mitt Romney and extremist Arizona Senator Russell Pearce

Friday, December 16th, 2011

Mitt Romney is a familiar old foe and charlatan who continues to take a “populist” approach in demonizing immigrants since 2007 when he ran against John McCain.   It’s unfortunate to see 2012 Presidential Candidate be up to his old tricks again on the immigration issue.  Mitt Romney was so bad in 2007 that he moved Senator John McCain (who worked with Kennedy on an Immigration Reform Bill) further to the right and against immigration friendly views.  What I don’t understand is how both Russell Pearce (loser to Jerry Lewis moderate GOP in 2011 special elections) and Mitt Romney (loser to moderate McCain in 2008 primary elections) will not adhere to principles of the Utah Compact.  Don’t they know that their anti-immigrant approach is a losing strategy and goes against the pure foundation of this nation?  Both of these politicians are people that are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) community and if they would only act more like Jon Huntsman things would be a much healthier environment.  For the record, Jon Huntsman supports the Federal DREAM Act and gets major Latino points to that regard.

Here are similar parallels between Mitt Romney and Russell Pearce:

  • Mitt Romney made Sheriff Joe Arpaio his state chair when he ran against Senator John McCain in 2007 and forced McCain farther to the right on his anti-immigration views.
  • FactCheck: Yes, his ads DID accuse McCain of “amnesty”. (Jan 2008)
  • Enforce the law against 12 million illegals here now. (Jun 2007)
  • McCain’s plan gives special pathway to those here illegally. (May 2007)
  • Keep rule barring immigrants from running for president. (May 2007)
  • The 12 million illegal immigrants can’t stay forever. (Jan 2006)
  • Illegal immigrants shouldn’t get tuition break in schools. (Nov 2007)
  • Unfair to allow all illegal immigrants to stay. (Jan 2006)
  • Tuition breaks encourage illegal immigration. (Nov 2005)
  • Vetoed in-state tuition; turn off the magnet. (Sep 2011)
  • Of course a border fence; of course no free tuition. (Sep 2011)
  • Build 2,600-mile fence with enough guards to secure it. (Sep 2011)
  • Turn off the magnet that attracts immigrants. (Sep 2011)
  • Deport illegal immigrants in 90 days under the ideal setting. (Jan 2008)
  • AdWatch: Huckabee ok’ed tuition & scholarships for illegals. (Dec 2007)
  • FactCheck: Took hard-line on illegals (Dec 2007)
  • Avoid chain migration; disallow families from one citizen. (Dec 2007)
  • FactCheck: Illegals employed at his home, but by contractor. (Nov 2007)
  • AdWatch: No driver’s license & in-state tuition for illegals. (Nov 2007)

Mitt Romney’s Strategy? To win GOP primaries then paint himself an Obama-esque Progressive

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

I have said it before and I’ll say it again.  Mitt Romney will do everything in his power to beat Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry in the Republican 2012

Mitt Romney IS Wall Street

Presidential primaries. Unfortunately for him he has changed his position so many times that nobody will be able to believe him. It doesn’t help how he is so tied into Wall Street either.

What’s his game in addition to taking a populist approach with regard to demonizing Latino immigrants when he advocates  for them to all go back to where they came? Romney was counting on the fact that demonizing immigrants and attacking Rick Perry on the DREAM Act would suffice in getting him to surge in the polls, but Newt put a wrench into things for him.

Romney wanted to happen to him what happened to Governor Jan Brewer when she became popular in demonizing immigrants in our State of Arizona, but someone forgot to give Mitt the memo  the immigration tide was changing.  Then Newt waited for the right time, allowing Perry and Romney to duke it out for a bit, and Herman Cain getting ousted so that it could cause the Gingrich campaign to surge.

If Mitt Romney were to win the Republican 2012 Presidential Primaries, he would be the first GOPer (pre-Ronald Reagan era) to receive Latino voter support to the tune of single digit numbers.  This is why Mitt Romney was advocating for Senator Marco Rubio to be his VEEP because he is counting on duping Latinos to support him with a Hispanic “token” at his side.  Romney, however, is out of tune with the southwestern Latino pulse because had he done his homework he would have found that those of Mexican descent loathe Rubio’s anti-immigrant and anti-DREAM Act policies.  Rubio supports Cuban amnesty under the Cuban Adjustment Act but he will not look at reforming comprehensive immigration reform laws for other Latino groups that do not have immigration privileges.

In addition to Mitt Romney miscalculating the direction of his campaign with his anti-immigrant approach, make no mistake he was relying to become  “Obama-esque” during the 2012 Presidential general elections.   After all, Mitt Romney supported RomneyCare which is similar to ObamaCare.

Mitt Romney was going to flip flop over to being a Progressive again like he did in 2002.  Romney had plans to play his “progressive card” after the GOP primaries.  He has history of it.

Don’t believe me?

Luke Johnson has the whole story here.

Here is a video where Mitt Romney described his views as “progressive” at a 2002 campaign stop in Worcester, Mass., while running for governor, and he stated:  “I’m someone who is moderate; and that my views are progressive,” he continued.
