Ousted and former Sen. Russell Pearce lying about Buddy Stubbs Harley Davidson, too.

Saturday, May 12th, 2012

Russell Pearce has been up to his misrepresentation tricks again.  He gives his readers the perception that Harkins Theatres and Buddy Stubbs Harley Davidson are in alignment with him on a boycott against the Phoenix New Times (because the newspaper has exposed Pearce’s bigotry and hypocrisy).  Pearce is part of the same extreme Tea Party hypocrisy  when they  expressed outrage with the Arizona boycott — yet, we see Russell Pearce partaking in Arizona boycotts today.

I am starting to see a pattern with the ousted and former Senator Russell Pearce and his B.A.N. organization, and it appears he is holding companies hostage to fulfill his agenda.  Little does Pearce and his Tea Party extremists know that business owners will vote their wallet before supporting protectionist ideas.  It’s just a matter of time is all.

Turns out …  both Harkins and Buddy Stubbs are not affiliated with Pearce in the least bit.  I wrote Harkins a letter and they confirmed in writing that they are not in cahoots with Pearce’s B.A.N.  Same thing with Buddy Stubbs Harley Davidson.  Neither are affiliated with the anti-Latino immigrant organization identified as B.A.N.

Russell Pearce’s B.A.N. made an inappropriate claim on their site when they wrote:

Apparently the Buddy Stubbs’ company asked Pearce’s B.A.N. to take the information down regarding “the cause” because ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS SELL BIKES,  but the Pearce supporters made more threats to the Harley Davidson dealer.  The contract Buddy Stubbs had with the Phoenix New Times simply ran out — nothing more and nothing less.

That is why we are here to set the record straight.

The Buddy Stubbs Harley Davidson Marketing Coordinator responded immediately and were very nice and professional, and  they confirmed they were not affiliated with Russell Pearce’s B.A.N. either.  See below:

Letter from Buddy Stubbs Company Dealer for Harley Davidson dated May 11, 2012

There is a pattern by the Tea Party Russell Pearce supporters as they attempt an Arizona boycott against the newspaper who has been critical of their bigotry.   They call companies who are advertising with the Phoenix New Times, and it seems they try to hold these companies at hostage.  This is the same typical Tea Party rhetoric but in a different form. Pearce & Co. claim to be concerned about pedophilia but they did nothing about the pedophilia in Colorado City, Arizona, and said nothing about Warren Jeffs scaring little girls to death.  If Pearce was so concerned about pedophilia, why  didn’t he do something about the polygamous reports of pedophilia activity in Colorado City and/or in the State of Arizona,  when he was an elected official and had tremendous power as Senate President? Why was it easier for Pearce to push an anti-immigrant law via SB 1070 than to try and protect children from pedophiles such as Warren Jeff

So there ya have it … perhaps clearing up Pearce’s misrepresentation will alert fellow Arizona business owners of the tactics his supporters are using, and I for one am glad smart companies are treating Pearce like kryptonite. Smart business owners are familiar with Hispanic buying power in our state, in fact, Hispanic buying power nationwide today is $1 trillion, larger than the economies of all but 14 countries in the world. (2010 DATOS/Selig/U.S. Census) And according to Latino FOX News: Hispanics represent $40 billion of purchasing power in Arizona, a state where Latinos have been buffeted by the effects of harsh laws targeting undocumented immigrants. (2012 DATOS)

What’s next for Pearce?

Is he going to tell Buddy Stubbs Harley Davidson to stop selling bikes to Mexican-Americans?  After all, Buddy Stubbs Harley Davidson has been advertising in the Raza Rider Magazine.  Chingado, man, are they gonna try and stop the Los Vatos rider memorial salute run, too?

As a 40 year old woman living in Scottsdale …  I am definitely looking at buying a Harley Davidson as I look towards the ‘retirement age’. And because the Phoenix New Times has done a good job at exposing bigotry (via Pearce and Joe Arpaio)  in their newspaper, I will look at who is advertising in their paper and buy from those businesses. After all … the fastest growing demographic is on their side.

I live in the desert and want to ride in the wild wild west…. who knows, perhaps when I retire I can begin some sort of female veteran biker’s club.
