Republican Secretary of State and Arizona Co-Chair of Mitt Romney Campaign Retreats from extreme nativist and birther remarksFriday, May 25th, 2012
National Tequila Party Lead Co President, Shirl Mora James, also a Civil Rights and Immigration Lawyer was serious about raising money to sue Ken Bennett if he denied Latinos our right to vote for President Obama in the State of Arizona because we have crazy Republicans in our State (like Russell Pearce) who sits as Vice Chair of the AZ GOP. We wrote about that here:
Latinos Believe Arizona Republican Secretary of State Ken Bennett Interfering With Latino Rights To Vote
First Paul Babeu steps down from Mitt Romney campaign as an Arizona co-chair, and now we see a different Republican Arizona co-chair (Ken Bennett) for Romney’s campaign retreat from his ridiculous birther and nativist remarks. What is it with the extremists Mitt Romney is picking to represent his campaign?
Yes, our Arizona Sec. of State was asking President Obama for his birth certificate even though Obama already produced the long form certificate to national networks across the globe LAST YEAR. Republicans are doing their best to feed into conspiracy theories and this is precisely why more and more people are breaking from the far right.
Here is the story on how Ken Bennett is now backtracking his request for Obama’s birth certificate AFTER he embarrasses Arizona!
From the HUFFINGTON POST:
On Tuesday night, Bennett, also an Arizona co-chair for Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, apologized for creating controversy and feeding a birther frenzy by requesting that Hawaiian officials verify the president’s birth documents.
“If I embarrassed the state, I apologize, but that certainly wasn’t my intent,” Bennett, who had earlier threatened to keep Obama off the ballot if his inquiry wasn’t met, said during an interview with radio station KTAR.
He withdrew further on Wednesday in the wake of Hawaii’s eventual verification of his request. FULL STORY.
