The famous Spanish Market is the oldest and leading juried Spanish Market in the United States attracting over 70,000 guests and collectors from throughout the world. Each July, the Market showcases hundreds of renowned Hispanic artists who not only display and sell their art, but are also very happy to share their culture with art enthusiasts.
There are so many galleries to visit while in Santa Fe, New Mexico, but one to look for is the LoneDog NoiseCat Gallery that is set to have their Grand Opening on July 26, 2013, beginning at 4:00 p.m. and in time for the famous Spanish Market kick off. Santa Fe artist, Ed Archie Noisecat describes the larger new gallery as a venue displaying Neo-abOriginal Art. Noisecat has been living and showing his art in New Mexico for 13 years and teamed up with another renowned artist via Todd “Lone Dog” Bordeaux (a direct descendent of Chief Lone Dog), and a member of the Sicangu Lakota Oyate in South Dakota. Todd is an extremely talented musician and an award winning artist in his own right as a master beadworker, and the culture he brings is highly contemporary with an ancient indigenous feel.
In the spirit of the Spanish Market, LoneDog NoiseCat Gallery chose renowned Chicano artist El Moises to headline a special exhibit with a number of other Chicano artists honoring the rich Mexican-indigenous artwork and other Hispanic cultures. Moises will be sharing a new piece for the first time to the public in honor of this special event. New Mexicans are familiar with the abundance of rabbits and highly visible rabbit trails in Santa Fe and in Taos, New Mexico. The new painting to be unveiled and open to the public during the Grand Opening signifies El Moises’ persona as he recalls the wonderful journey and experiences while living in New Mexico.
