Outrage on School signs with two very different messages in English and Spanish
Monday, January 7th, 2013Meanwhile in Delaware…
Dear Sirs,
I am writing to file a formal complaint about these signs. They are posted in Milford School property. The two signs do NOT reflect the same information. The sign in Spanish says one must have permission to play on this field and violators are subject to police action if they violate this. The sign in English does not reflect the same Information.
The school District does not have a Limited English Proficiency policy to my knowledge. On the face of it, this sign seems to be discriminatory. At best, it’s ugly.
If the school District had a compliance policy this may not have happened.
I would like formal action taken on this as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance
Shirl Mora James, President of SOMOS INDEPENDENTS
