The Guardian UK is a well read newspaper in our Nation and I was proud to chime in on a discussion panel of women as it relates to the topic of Mitt Romney and his “binders of women.”

I was happy to address what has been burning in my heart – and, as a woman who proudly served in our Armed Forces as a bomb dog handler … I believe it is time for women to be part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Let’s break that glass ceiling.

We need to pick our battles more carefully as it relates to war, and since many of us have children of our own who could be drafted, then I believe we should be part of the strategic decisions.

You can read the entire discussion here, and was amongst 6 other women who contributed to the panel. Here is my contribution:

It will be very hard for Mitt Romney to improve his image with women voters because he has reversed his stance on the pro-choice/pro-life issue too many times. His reversals make him appear like a populist politician driven by polls. Remember, Romney gave an oath to protect a woman’s right to choose until he decided to run under the Republican presidential ticket. How can a pro-choice woman trust Romney after he went back on his word? On the other hand, how can a pro-life woman trust him when his campaign recently stated that abortion “should be an option” in certain cases?

In order for Romney to garner the trust of women voters, he will have to pick a side and stick with it to the end, else mistrust will continue to pile up. Right now, women do not know what his real conviction on the issue, and we become much more considerate of politicians who stick to their convictions. As it stands, we still do not know where his heart is really at.

A woman has never served on the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS); therefore, any president promoting women to the JCS within his first 100 days would give many of us a sigh of relief and encouragement. So many women in the US are related to sons, daughters or relatives currently serving our armed forces, and we are feeling apprehensive and pressure with regard to the multiple wars we have been engaged in. It would be helpful knowing that more women are part of the “advisory committee”, which helps plan joint operations and resolutions of military problems because, as it stands, there appears to be too much testosterone fueling those key decisions. It would be helpful for us to see balance at a strategic leadership level.

DeeDee Garcia Blase: ‘[Romney] will have to pick a side and stick with it to the end’

Nebraska Governor Heineman is attacking baby and prenatal care again, but this time he is threatening to opposes lawmaker pay raise.

Here’s the story:

Heineman opposes lawmaker pay raise because of veto override

Will lawmakers choose the protection of life and compassionate acts? Or will the the Nebraska lawmakers choose money?

Time will tell, and we will record who stands on the right side of American history as it relates to the treatment of fellow man. Either you believe all men were created equal or you don’t.

A little background on a previous story we wrote about the Nebraska Governor:

Gov. Dave Heineman is no Christian Compassionate person as he bullies women and children again. Emulates Arizona Governor.

I’ve known for some time that the Republican Party has been corrupted with bigotry via FAIR and the John Tanton network. The Tanton network has certain states within their sites and control, and now Nebraska is on their radar.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is an anti-immigration ‘movement,’ that began by one man, John Tanton. Tanton was the organizer and President of the Northern Michigan Planned Parenthood Association between 1965-1971, and in 1975 he wrote The Case for Passive Eugenics where his letters and memos are a public collection at the Bentley Historical Library. Tanton has clear connections to Pioneer Fund and Numbers USA where Pioneer Fund’s eugenic ideas (selective breeding of humans) supported a variety of institutions that legitimize race “science”, including the journal Mankind Quarterly, which today is published by long-time eugenicist, anti-Semite and Pioneer grant recipient Roger Pearson.

There are Republicans who claim to be pro life but are not. For those who don’t know about John Tanton, he is anti-semitic, anti-immigrant and anti-everything. The Republican Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman is at it again with attacking women and children again. This is the same so called “pro lifer” who

tried to attack birth right citizenship under the 14th Amendment of our Constitution of the United States via NE LB 599.

State can restore prenatal care to undocumented moms

Now he is at it again.

The Nebraska Governor not only will be bullying Deferred Action (DACA) beneficiaries but also VAWA (women victims of domestic abuse) beneficiaries with his recent proclamation in denying driver licenses to some Nebraska residents. FULL STORY HERE>>>

Could it be that the pro life movement is not dead? Just when I was beginning to think the pro life movement was dying, Rick Santorum’s pick up truck and shoe string budget campaign was able to muscle it’s way against Mitt Romney’s million dollar campaign.

The pro life movement has lost a lot of influence….but it is the middle class pro life voters who didn’t hand the elections to Mitt Romney like he had hoped. Much of Rick Santorum’s campaign was saved by the true pro lifers. We have noticed Mitt Romney avoiding his flip flopping pro life history like the plague, and now Rick has the opportunity to reveal Romney’s past. Die hard pro lifers remember Mitt Romney’s oathe to protect a woman’s right to choose. If Rick wants to lead a serious campaign, he must get the 80% consistent pro life GOP primary voters into his corner.

He had a skeletal advertising budget — “You can’t buy Iowa,” he would say, deriding his better-financed rivals — and his campaign disclosure forms included itemized receipts from the likes of Target (“food & beverage” expense, $16.48), Walmart (“event supplies/container,” $4.47) and Priceline.com (“Airfare,” $670.84”).
