Babies and Undocumented Women Win in the Midwest After Republican Janssen Attacks Prenatal Care and Fails

Monday, April 1st, 2013

We informed you last month with regard to Republicans like Sen. Charlie Janssen and Gov. Dave Heineman who have been attacking prenatal care and an undocumented woman’s right to choose life for their babies.

Shirl Mora James is a Civil Rights and Immigration lawyer in the Midwest who has committed her life to protecting a woman’s right to choose in keeping their babies.   Shirl is also the President of a woman-led movement via SOMOS INDEPENDENTS (formerly the National Tequila Party Movement) who testified in the Nebraska legislature in support of women who want to keep their babes. She is not your ordinary internet arm  chair revolutionary — nay, she walks her talk not limited to hosting rallies in an effort to increase getting out the vote and conducting educational seminars with regard to the DREAM Act and DACA.  She is a mover and a shaker and you can hear her testimony here.

PRO LIFE Showdown as Republicans Attack “Brown” Women Who Choose Life

We are happy to announce Janssen’s efforts have failed. Life won today and evil plans by organizations like FAIR and the John Tanton network were destroyed.  Hallelujah.

According to 1011 Now:

Lawmakers have halted an attempt to repeal state-funded prenatal care for the unborn children of illegal immigrants in Nebraska.

The Legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee voted 6-0 to kill the measure, with one lawmaker abstaining. Janssen says he was disappointed with the vote.

Here is Shirl Mora James testimony regarding prenatal care … one more time for the gipper!

Shirl Mora James testifying against the Nebraska LB-518 and in support of women who choose to keep their babies.

Right now Republicans are attacking a woman’s right to choose life for their babies, and the big legislative showdown was today.

Shirl Mora James is a Civil Rights and Immigration lawyer in the Midwest who has committed her life to protecting a woman’s right to choose in having their babies.   Shirl is also the President of a woman-led movement via SOMOS INDEPENDENTS (formerly the National Tequila Party Movement).

The National Right to Life (NRLC) needs to take a strong stance against the Republicans like the Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman and  Nebraska Senator – Charlie Janssen.  The NRLC  cannot expect a State Chapter to do it all and they should set a national precedent warning other Republicans across the Nation.  If Republicans continue to attack women, and prenatal care to  US Born-Children (protected under the 14th amendment) they will continue to be viewed as bigots.

Here is the video of Shirl Mora James who made a strong statement against Republicans in Nebraska who claim to be pro-life, but are really in support of encouraging undocumented women to receive abortions rather than to support healthy U.S. born babies.

Shirl was fierce and strong in the defense of LIFE today.

Woman-led Organization Slams GOP Lawmaker Charlie Janssen for Targeting Prenatal Care to Low Income Women

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013

Would the Nebraska Senator Charlie Janssen rather undocumented women receive abortions?  Why is Janssen attacking prenatal care given both to the unborn and women who choose to keep their babies?

Make no mistake, we will be hawkish with regard to the National Right to Life and the Nebraska Right to Lifers to see how they are going to handle lawmakers who claim to be pro life but do what is in their power to eliminate prenatal care to the unborn.

Shirl Mora James, Civil Rights and Immigration Lawyer and also President of SOMOS INDEPENDENTS (formerly the National Tequila Party Movement) chimes in and states:

“Sen. Charlie Janssen of Fremont introduced legislation (LB518) Wednesday to repeal a state law that gives prenatal care to women in the country without status.  He is attacking innocents.”

Janssen goes after prenatal care for illegal immigrants

Last session, senators voted 30-16 to override Gov. Dave Heineman’s veto of a bill (LB599) that restored funding for prenatal coverage to low-income women, many of them undocumented, who lost Medicaid coverage for prenatal care in 2010.

The override caused conflict for lawmakers who label themselves pro-life but also oppose people being in the United States illegally.

Heineman said at the time that “providing preferential treatment to illegals while increasing taxes on legal Nebraska citizens is misguided, misplaced and inappropriate.”

The override so infuriated Heineman that he cited that as a reason for campaigning before the November election against a ballot measure that would have given lawmakers a raise. The measure was rejected by voters.

I would rather have 4 more years of Obama Care than 8 years of Romney Care

Monday, October 22nd, 2012

As an Arizona Independent registered voter, I would rather have 4 more years of Obama Care than 8 years of Romney Care.  Nobody knows what they are gonna get with Mitt Romney since he has reversed his position on just about every political issue imaginable.  We know what we are going to get with President Obama, and I just cannot trust a politician like Romney.  Mitt Romney refuses to be transparent with his tax returns yet wants Americans to trust him?  How can Americans trust him when nobody knows what his real convictions are?

How can Romney explain wanting to increase our war and defense budget by $2.1 trillion, yet not want to take care of our elderly and senior citizens here in our Homeland?  He would rather spend money bombing other countries while ignoring Homeland issues here relating to Americans?  Doesn’t make sense to spend money abroad and increasing war budgets, and Americans are tired of war.

Mitt Romney has reversed himself on all positions ranging from health care, immigration, abortion and pro life.

In fact, Mitt Romney’s own Republican cohort called him out on his own hypocrisy — see below:

The moment was, of course, the exchange between Rick Santorum and Romney when Santorum was aggressively challenging Romney about health care. Romney was going through his standard defense of his health-care plan, saying it was right for Massachusetts but not for other states. Santorum wasn’t buying it: “Think about what that means going up against Barack Obama … You are going to claim [about the Affordable Care Act], ‘Well, it doesn’t work and we should repeal.’ And he’s going to say, ‘Wait a minute, governor. You said it works well in Massachusetts.’ Folks—we can’t give this issue away in this election. It is about fundamental freedom … It’s going to be on your ballot as to whether there should be a government mandate here in Florida. According to Governor Romney, that’s OK.”

The New Yorker wrote about Mitt Romney’s reversals — indeed, Romney is making every attempt to be teflon on just about every issue ranging from abortion, immigration, health care, and jobs.

Mitt Romney can be a hard man to pin down. But there is one thing that he’s been clear about: if he becomes President, he will repeal Obamacare. That simple promise, more than any other that Romney has made, illuminates what is most at stake in this year’s election. The campaigns may spend most of their time talking about taxes and jobs. But health care is where the election’s outcome will have the most immediate and powerful impact on how Americans live.

Abolishing Obamacare would eliminate subsidies for people buying insurance and rescind regulations requiring insurance companies to guarantee coverage and benefits (for instance, to people with preëxisting conditions). Romney’s proposed alternative is to give individuals a tax break when they buy insurance and to push them toward high-deductible insurance plans, which he believes will make them more rigorous and price-conscious in choosing doctors and treatments. Romney also wants to reform Medicare by encouraging more competition among private insurers. The details are skimpy, but the core principle is that unleashing the power of the free market will bring down costs and raise quality.

Mitt Romney simply cannot be trusted and cannot identify with the average ordinary American.

I would rather have 4 more years of President Obama than to have 8 years of Mr. Multiple Choice Mitt Romney.

I perceive Romney as a crony capitalist who will hurt the middle class.

Another Romney Reversal: What does the National Right To Life have to say about Mitt Romney’s abortion reversal?

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

Now that Mitt Romney has reversed his position again on the pro life / abortion issue, I would like to know what the National Right to Life has to say about  his reversal.

We have coined a new term for Multiple Choice Mitt and the new name is “Romney’s Reversal” as the etch-a-sketch politician tries to spruce up  his populism points.

Fact is, smart women will not trust the charlatan politician.  At least women know what they are gonna get with President Obama — but now Romney is desperate to garner populism points the way he tried when he ran against Senator John McCain.  Romney’s reversals are a failed strategy.  He lost against McCain, and he’ll lose again with Obama because he simply cannot be trusted with the average ordinary American.

From the WAPOST:

“There’s no legislation with regards to abortion that I’m familiar with that would become part of my agenda,” Romney told the paper’s editorial board. “One thing I would change however which would be done by executive order and not by legislation is that I would reinstate the Mexico City policy which is that foreign aid dollars from the United States would not be used to carry out abortion in other countries.”

Later, Romney, who spent the day in Ohio, appeared to back away from his remarks, saying: “I think I’ve said time and again that I’m a pro-life candidate and I’ll be a pro-life president.”

More importantly, how do Ohio Pro Life voters feel about Romney profiting from abortions?

Romney Invested in Medical-Waste Firm That Disposed of Aborted Fetuses, Government Documents Show

“…Here’s what happened with Stericycle. In November 1999, Bain Capital and Madison Dearborn Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm, filed with the SEC a Schedule 13D, which lists owners of publicly traded companies, noting that they had jointly purchased $75 million worth of shares in Stericycle, a fast-growing player in the medical-waste industry. (That April, Stericycle had announced plans to buy the medical-waste businesses of Browning Ferris Industries and Allied Waste Industries.) The SEC filing lists assorted Bain-related entities that were part of the deal, including Bain Capital (BCI), Bain Capital Partners VI (BCP VI), Sankaty High Yield Asset Investors (a Bermuda-based Bain affiliate), and Brookside Capital Investors (a Bain offshoot). And it notes that Romney was the “sole shareholder, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of BCI, BCP VI Inc., Brookside Inc. and Sankaty Ltd….”

State can restore prenatal care to undocumented moms

Lincoln Sen. Kathy Campbell dabbed at tears of happiness and relief Wednesday afternoon after senators voted to override Gov. Dave Heineman’s veto of a bill (LB599) that would restore funding for prenatal care for many undocumented women in the state.
