I was invited to discuss the legal immigration plan supported by the Gang of 8 on the Attorney For Freedom Show a couple of days ago, and you can listen to the recording here.

Marc Victor is a high profile attorney in Arizona who realizes immigration ought to be fixed, and while I don’t agree with all of his ideas — I felt it was important to address what I do and do not support with regard to immigration reform since Victor has several Libertarian and Republican listeners.

I did take the opportunity to nail the Texas U.S. Senators who are missing in action — from the state that shares 64% of the entire southern border length with Mexico. Where are they? Texas John Cornyn is on the Finance committee that oversees ports of entry, trade and tariffs — yet he is nowhere to be found on the push for legal immigration.

We also spoke about Cuban immigrants receive government benefits once their wet foot touches dry land because Libertarians do not like any hints of welfare programs/government benefits. I reminded Victor that most immigrants do not receive the government benefits that are afforded to Cuban immigrants. Indeed Texas U.S. Senator and Cuban-American Ted Cruz has had family that benefited from Cuban privileged amnesty via the Cuban Adjustment Act, and it is unfortunate that the freshman will not follow the steps of Senator Marco Rubio of Florida. At least Rubio is working towards legal immigration — and Ted Cruz is not.

Tune into the May 1st, 2013 recorded show with regard to immigration here.

First of all, a vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Gary Johnson, but nativists and birthers are scared to death of the “L” Libertarian factor and how it will affect GOP races across the nation. What is it with people who are concerned about how others CHOOSE to vote? We each have the free will born right to vote however the hell we feel, and those who say otherwise are merely afraid that their candidate of choice is not strong enough to win on their own merit and accord. There is NO SUCH THING AS A WASTED VOTE as long as the individual believes in the candidate’s platform!

More importantly, if Gary Johnson receives at least 5% of the popular vote, the Libertarian Party will be eligible for Presidential funding in 2016.

I wrote about that here:

2016 Matching Funds an incentive for Libertarian – Republican voters to vote for Gary Johnson this year

More importantly, I am all about punishing the 2 major party system since both major parties have failed the American people with their partisanship. Tea Party people are the worst with their obstructionism in my view, and it is high time we work on methods that will bring our nation together and instead of the divisiveness the 2 major parties bring along with their fringe groups. Our Nation has already experienced a Civil War, and we don’t need another one.

Personally, I’m an independent voter for life, and plan on staying an independent voter who will cast my vote based on the person who is running for office — and not necessarily a Party.

Below is the paranoid tweet from Donald Trump who wants to bring our Nation back to the Ice Ages and archaic belief systems:

death in our jails. Arpaio is spending millions of dollars attacking the Democratic Candidate Paul Penzone for his domestic violence history, and we already knew Arpaio would do this. Indeed we warned the Maricopa County Democratic party to NOT support flawed candidates with a history that Arpaio could use against them. We knew Arpaio would expose the damaged goods and this is why we have maintained all along that the former Republican, now Independent Mike Stauffer would create a culture of a professional environment at the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department.

PARTISANSHIP DOES NOT BELONG IN A SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT.

I made my assumptions between Arpaio and the Independent fiscal conservative candidate Mike Stauffer below last year. Keep in mind that Stauffer was the first candidate to put his hat in the race against Arpaio.

Arizona Needs a “Scrooge” Sheriff without the “Bah, Humbug”!

I heard on the radio that Sheriff Joe Arpaio landed in a helicopter at the Paradise Valley Mall to announce his crack down at Phoenix area malls. Sheriff Joe Arpaio has become Paul Blart Mall Cop on steroids, except Blart was funny. Arpaio wasting millions of dollars is not funny, particularly when the price for a barrel of oil is rising. Who in their right mind during a down economy wastes aircraft fuel and tax payer dollars simply to pull a public relations stunt? Should it not be enough that Arpaio inappropriately spent $99 million?

What’s a few thousand dollars more from a person who has been living so long on the dole? Public and elected officials should act more like Scrooge with sound penny pinching ideas, but without the “Bah, humbug” disposition.

Next to the United States’ Presidential race of 2012, quite a number of people throughout the nation and the world will have their eyes on a local race — the election of Maricopa County Sheriff.

The controversy surrounding this non-border county with a population less than Los Angeles, has been in the spotlight for over a decade now. Unfortunately there is no reason for that other than a narcissistic Sheriff who is in constant need of attention.

Change is in the air however, much to the chagrin of Joe Arpaio and his remaining allies. Not until now has Arpaio faced such a battle to retain his position as Sheriff. The people of Maricopa County, Arizona, are now taking a stand, and groups like the National Tequila Party and Somos Republicans are educating the voters on why it is time for a new Sheriff in 2012.

With the downfall of former state Senate president, Russell Pearce, and former Maricopa County Attorney, Andrew Thomas, the remaining member of the trio hangs by a thread. With less than one year before the general elections, the 79-year-old Arpaio is facing the most highly skilled opponent of his nearly 20 years of campaigning for office. Scottsdale Police Lt. Mike Stauffer, a 29-year veteran of law enforcement will be facing Arpaio for the first time in the general elections as an Independent.

Already activists are lining up and supporting Lt. Stauffer, and word is spreading throughout the County that “a new sheriff is in town,” and for good reason. While several groups will not support a candidate for Sheriff directly, they will be working behind the scenes to ensure the current “Mayberry” Sheriff does not see a sixth term in office.

With the latest press release from the Stauffer campaign, Stauffer delivers real solutions, cost saving measures, and above all constitutional standards back to the system. Lt. Stauffer states in part: “I support the Utah and the proposed Arizona Compact, in that they reaffirm my beliefs in the rule of law and the constitutional enforcement of the laws and statutes passed by the legislature.”

Stauffer also made it quite clear that “tent city” will be a thing of the past as it has done little to nothing to stop repeat offenders. In place of the “tents,” Lt. Stauffer says he will, “replace this facility with a self-sufficient work farm for first time and low risk inmates to learn skills, attend rehabilitation programs and provide food and services to the rest of the county jail system.” He will also partner with county business to hire qualified inmates through a work-release program that will help cover their stay and save the taxpayers millions of dollars over the long haul. He goes on to say: “This will have a positive impact on the recidivism rate, as the former inmate will have skills and the ability to make positive choices.”

According to West Kenyon, Stauffer’s campaign manager: “Unquestionably, this is exactly what we need now, a practical, professional solution to a broken and very corrupt system. Voters are ready for a new non-party politics sheriff. Lt. Stauffer has certainly staked his claim early, filing to run January of 2010, leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind he is serious on bringing reform to the system. It is evident with less then one year to the elections there are no other credible candidates for the job or they would have already stepped up to the plate.”

Time will tell but there is good evidence that the voters here in Arizona and beyond are demanding professionals, not politicians. We will continue to fight for what is right for Arizona, and the National Tequila Party Movement will stand firm in supporting quality candidates.

Phoenix, AZ - The National Tequila Party believes the Arizona Republican Secretary of State — Ken Bennett is interfering with our right to vote under the Voter Rights Act of 1965. Latinos believe this may be an attempt by Republican leaders to quash Latino voters who will more than likely vote for President Obama in our key swing State of Arizona due to the anti-immigrant rhetoric and sentiment produced by ousted and former Republican Senator Russell Pearce and the Republican Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Bennett told a radio interviewer yesterday it was “possible” he would keep Obama off the ballot if the issue isn’t resolved.

Currently there are about 500,000 registered Latino voters in Arizona; 47% are registered as Democrats, 15% as Republicans and 37% as independents. More and more Latino Get Out the Vote efforts are underway in our State of Arizona and across our Nation, and we will begin raising money in preparation of litigation if our right to vote is interfered with by the Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett in the upcoming November 2012 Presidential elections. Ken Bennett’s move is reminiscent to what they do in communist countries like Cuba. The long form of Obama’s birth certificate has already been shown. Furthermore, in order to run for the President of the United States of America, presidential candidates go through tremendous screening, scrutiny and vetting.

About the National Tequila Party Movement:
The National Tequila Party Movement is a female-led political movement. More females vote in Presidential elections than men strong Latina matriarchs are emerging. It is our goal to communicate to females and Latina matriarchs across the nation with regard to the need for compassion towards undocumented immigrants and the need to fix the broken immigration system. The Tequila Party is currently organizing a national tour of concerts, events, dinners and college rallies that will encourage a massive Latino Get Out The Vote and political participation. This movement is a non-partisan movement. We don’t care how people vote, we just want them to get on the early ballot system, become consistent primary and general election voters.

Remember the Arizona State lawmaker Kyrsten Sinema who was tough on immigration during a time Latinos were being kicked down? Well guess what? She is running for Congress and the National Tequila Party Movement — a female led political movement will never support her and let her forget what she did when she decided to get “tough on immigration.”

I suspect she wanted her tough on immigration bill implemented because she knew darn well she was going to run for Congress and she wanted “in” on demonizing the immigrants.

Don’t believe me? Read this story below:

Latino Democrat Steve Gallardo stands up against Kyrsten Sinema’s SB1225, her get “tough on immigration” bill

Stephen Lemons of the Phoenix New Times picks up the SB1225 saga and includes some more insight into growing Latino opposition to it.

Steve Gallardo stands up against Kyrsten Sinema’s ‘tough on immigration’ SB1225.

The right-wing loves Kyrsten Sinema’s “tough on immigration” bill SB1225, and indeed she has 10 Republican co-sponsors, but Democrats are not on board yet, and especially not the Latino Democrats such as Steve Gallardo.

Below is an excerpt from The Bird’s article that shows this cultural conflict, and it will only escalate in my opinion.

“I and many other members at the legislature have taken the stance that immigration bills really need to be put on hold for now,” Gallardo said. “Our focus should be the budget. Let’s focus on the economy, let’s focus on jobs, let’s focus on the deficit. That should be our focus.”

I have to interject and add that I strongly agree with Gallardo. We do not need any more immigration bills, and we don’t need to give Sheriff Arpaio more power to get “tough on immigration.” Focus on the economy!

What do Donald Trump and Mitt Romney have in common? Both love to fire people. We all know Donald Trump’s infamous you’re fired line, but Romney is famous for firing people, too, via Bain Capital when thousands of families were affected when they lost their jobs.

Donald Trump, a birther who demanded to see President Obama’s birth certificate is endorsing Mitt Romney who ALSO received another nativist endorsement via Kris Kobach in January 2012. Mitt Romney is receiving advice from a known birther which is why he has promised to veto the DREAM Act and can never be trusted by Latinos, or any other minority group. He is who he surrounds himself with. Kris Kobach’s relationship to FAIR is clear and irrefutable – not only does he represent FAIR’s support for white nationalism in court rooms, he is responsible for almost all protectionist, restrictionist and isolationist anti-immigrant laws across the country. So there you have it – Romney is surrounding himself with nativists and white nationalist supporters via the John Tanton network. John Tanton has contributed to the Pioneer Fund and has strong views against the Jews. Mitt Romney chose to make a deal with the devil when he chose to make it with Kobach and for that he must never be voted for.

It appears that the likes of John Tanton would love more than anything to create a RACE WAR which is why I believe Mitt Romney is a dangerous man for the United States when Kris Kobach confirmed he was advising him. WE ARE FOR THE UNITED STATES, Mr. Romney — not a DIVIDED STATES.

Kris Kobach is the legal arm to FAIR who’s only solution to immigration is to simply have none — they don’t want to fix the broken system, they want to eliminate all migration completely.

From the SPLC:

Tanton on ‘the Jews’

In some ways, given his ideas, it’s not surprising that John Tanton would cozy up to white nationalists and their fellow travelers. What is unexpected, even among long-time observers of the FAIR founder, is his attitude toward “the Jews.”

In the late 1990s, Kevin MacDonald, a California State University, Long Beach, professor, was finishing up a trilogy of books that purported to show that Jews collectively work to undermine the dominant majorities in the host countries in which they live, including the United States. MacDonald said that Jews pursue these tactics — including promoting non-white immigration into white-dominated nations — in order to weaken the majority culture in a bid to enhance their own standing. He would later go on to speak and write for white nationalist groups across America.

Tanton liked what he read. On Dec. 28, 1998 — the same year that the last two books of MacDonald’s trilogy were published — he wrote MacDonald, saying, “I hope we can meet some day.” On that same date, Tanton sent a memo to Dan Stein and the FAIR board of directors about a MacDonald paper “on the segment of the Jewish community that has an open borders mentality.” The paper, Tanton said, “would be fertile for group discussion at the forthcoming board meeting.”

Earlier that month, on Dec. 10, 1998, Tanton also sent MacDonald’s work to Cordelia Scaife May, a now-deceased millionaire philanthropist who gave regularly to far-right causes and was a close Tanton friend. “I’m sure [MacDonald's article] will give you a new understanding of the Jewish outlook on life, which explains a large part of the Jewish opposition to immigration reform,” he wrote.

Tanton’s criticism of religious groups wasn’t limited to Jews, however. Over the years, he — like some principals of FAIR — lashed out at a variety of religious denominations, especially Catholics, for their welcoming attitude toward immigrants coming to America from the Third World. In his letter to the FAIR board suggesting a discussion of Kevin MacDonald’s theories, for instance, he described “the Roman Catholic Church [and] several of the Protestant denominations, the Lutheran Church in particular,” as being among “our opponents.” In an earlier, May 24, 1994, letter to Roy Beck of NumbersUSA, he said that “one of the problems with churches is that they see themselves as universal, and as transcending national boundaries.”

Endorsing Eugenics

For years, FAIR President Dan Stein has hotly denied that his organization had anything to do with eugenics. “Eugenics,” he wrote in a 2004 op-ed in the Kansas City Star, “is pure junk science, and it is utterly unrelated to FAIR’s efforts to bring order to immigration in America.” Two months later, in a press release attacking the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for suggesting otherwise, the group called SPLC’s reporting “utterly specious” and “McCarthyist.”

The press release went on to accuse the SPLC of unfairly linking FAIR to “a long discredited pseudo-science of eugenics” by noting the group had accepted $1.2 million from the eugenicist Pioneer Fund, ending in 1994. The release also claimed that the idea that FAIR had an interest in eugenics had been disproven.

Apparently, John Tanton failed to get that message.

On Dec. 30, 1994 — at the end of the year that FAIR finally stopped soliciting Pioneer donations (after negative publicity) and issued its denunciation of eugenics — Tanton wrote to German academic Wolfgang Bosswick to defend the Pioneer Fund, saying its critics were the “hard (Marxist) left in the United States.”

Just when you think the whacky state of Arizona couldn’t get any whackier….our Senator John McCain makes a boneheaded move and makes an early endorsement of Mitt Romney a/k/a Mr. Wall Street and anti-DREAM Act. John McCain has a history of picking losers like Sarah Palin who ended up endorsing extremist politicians like Nevada Candidate Sharron Angle and Tom Tancredo of Colorado. Now he is picking another loser — Mitt Romney.

At least one good thing happened recently when Arizonans saw extremist State Senator Russell Pearce get taken down by a man of reason and one could easily argue that we are getting back on track in the new millennium during a time when extremist politicians are wanting to take us back to a pre Civil Rights era. That said, John McCain STILL appears to be holding a grudge against Latinos who overwhelmingly voted for President Obama in 2008.

Why else would McCain endorse Romney early on over Newt Gingrich? Is this McCain’s way of getting a political jab against Rick Santorum since Santorum endorsed Mitt Romney over McCain during the 07/08 Presidential primaries?

Either way, the people of Arizona know McCain has a history of holding grudges and what McCain says and does has little influence when it comes to Latinos. He used to be the “great white hope” for immigration reform, but it is no longer the case when he voted against the DREAM Act vote in December 2010.

Now John McCain and Mitt Romney are two peas in a pod — both are anti-DREAM Act and they can now both sleep well at night knowing they destroy children’s dreams.

I just learned of Republicans who are against GOP Republican Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney.

Letter from Ali A. Akbar, a well known Conservative.

From Not Mitt Romney:

Our Plan to Defeat Mitt Romney

Thank you again for signing up at NotMittRomney.com and joining our ever-growing coalition of conservatives who are putting their feet down and doing what it takes to ensure that moderate, opportunist professional flip flopper Mitt Romney is not the Republican nominee in 2012. As a friend and a supporter, we wanted to share with you our strategy for stopping Romney in his tracks.

1. Coalition Building

We have already begun this process, which entails tapping courageous activists, bloggers, political operatives, influencers and everyday citizens who are willing to take the following simple, yet powerful unified stand, “Mitt Romney Should Not Be Our Nominee.” We recognize that this coalition must remain as broad as possible. Our opponents’ greatest wish is that we become marginalized, divided and disorganized, which would result in reduced public support. We stand with the 70-75% of likely Republican primary voters nationwide who haven’t chosen Romney as our nominee. This is a powerful starting point. We will continue building our coalition by leveraging our co-signers, and then we will provide this team with the tools and resources necessary to empower our base and contact thousands of early-state voters in an impactful and viral effort.

2. Our Message

As we have done already and will continue to do, we must use Romney’s own words against him to show that he will make a weak nominee if he wins the Republican nomination. Head to head national polls taken today pitting President Obama against Romney are utterly meaningless. Romney’s profound weaknesses as a general election candidate (say anything, do anything to win, no core principles, not a conservative, in the words of Erick Erickson, that we “can trust”) will make him weak next fall in the face of a billion dollar Obama campaign machine We must (and we will) remind Republican primary voters of this.

We will be quick to point out when any of the other Republican candidates create a clear contrast with Romney’s ever-changing policy positions — and we will also make it clear that Romney creates only a marginal contrast against the failed presidency of Barack Obama. After all, Romney STILL supports TARP and the wildly unpopular bailouts. If Romney were to win the nomination, these type of positions will reduce participation among activists and conservatives around the country — blocs that are crucial to the successful “Get Out the Vote” operations that result in winning swing states.

Despite all of these facts, it isn’t our job to present one alternative, but rather many — in fact, any. However, after Florida (if not right before), we must rally in favor of the highest performing alternative, regardless of whom that is. Mathematically, this will likely be our only remaining path to defeating Romney for the nomination. After all, the media is focused at their own national polls, not pledged delegates. Our effort is focused and targeted.

We also must continue to educate the press. Our mission is not futile. We must fight to change the narrative that falsely paints Mitt Romney as the “inevitable nominee,” with the “best chance of winning” which has been constructed by the press because the exact opposite is true.

3. Expose Romney’s Silent Iowa Campaign

The Iowa caucus takes place less than seven weeks from now on January 3, 2012, and Romney’s team has built a silent campaign that is poised to manufacture a serious behind-the-scenes challenge which threatens to win the caucuses with 20-24% of the vote while the conservative candidates divide up the rest. Our NotMittRomney.com coalition is prepared to take action in Iowa by empowering our supporters through a Virtual Phone Bank that we will be launching in the coming days. Through the gracious financial support of activists like you, we will purchase a voter list of 15,000+ Iowa voters, particularly high propensity, conservative caucus-goers, and use our Virtual Phone Bank to allow you to begin making calls on your own time immediately. Our goal is to first rally our base behind the cause, and then focus on broadening our base.

4. Stop Romney in Florida

Florida’s closed Republican primary is January 31, 2012. We absolutely must prevent Romney from winning Florida. If we stop him there, he will be significantly less likely to secure the nomination. In fact, if our plan works and Romney loses Florida, and then we successfully rally the base around one alternative, Mitt Romney will not be the Republican nominee. If Romney does win Florida, however, we must immediately rally around the highest performing — in terms of money, polling, campaign infrastructure, and primary visibility — alternative in order to secure a successful Super Tuesday. There will be time left to stop the “inevitable” nomination of Romney.

5. On the Ground

If our fundraising successes continue and the grassroots want us to fill this void, we would like to establish field teams in key targeted states. We believe that these efforts could prove instrumental in defeating Mitt Romney in these crucial states.

As you can see, our strategy is comprehensive, but our success in defeating Mitt Romney is going to rely solely on you at this critical time. As we mentioned earlier, we will soon be launching our Iowa Virtual Phone Bank. Please watch your e-mail, as when the time comes, we will need your help to make calls to Iowa voters to remind them why they must not support Romney. Of course, if you can afford to make a generous $10, $25, $50, or even $100 donation, that would help us continue to fund our critical voter contact efforts.

Thank you for your continued support. Together, we will ensure that Mitt Romney is not the Republican nominee in 2012.

Sincerely,

Pro life groups seem to be losing influence and stayed silent when Republican State lawmakers were attacking Birthright Citizenship / 14th amendment.

Who will win the Iowa Caucus? Will it be Ron Paul? Newt Gingrich? Mitt Romney? Rick Perry?

Iowa is a good leading indicating state to watch because it will tell us whether or not the Pro Life movement and their influence is alive or deadening. We already know that Ron Paul is attacking Mitt Romney on his flip flopping pro choice and pro life views, so who will come out at the top? How strong is the Iowa Right to Life?

Anonymous Text Messages Attack Romney on Abortion in Iowa

Automated anonymous text messages sent to Iowa Republicans just days before they head to their presidential caucuses are telling them that Romney is supposedly not pro-life but relying on outdated quotes to make the claim.

Republicans in Iowa received cell phone text messages yesterday morning, according to MSNBC, saying, “Romney exposed at 2012 caucuses. Romney pro life??”
