Shirl Mora James, President – Civil Rights and Immigration Lawyer

Phoenix, AZ — We are happy to announce the launch of a humanitarian music CD that pushes for earned and legal immigration.  We believe in communicating through art and music.  Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once penned: “Music is the universal language of mankind — poetry their universal pastime and delight.”  Many of us have fond memories when it comes to lyrics we identify with in songs sung by the likes of Bob Marley, Guns N’ Roses, Led Zeppelin, Rage Against the Machine, Pink Floyd and so forth. How is it that a John Lennon or Marvin Gaye song has everlasting global and sustaining reach when they sing of peace or war?  We have come to the absolute conclusion that musicians and great writers are the ones who come up with memorably coined phrases and quotes leaving a lasting global ripple effect.

The Tequila CD consists of music created by new emerging Latino artists and poets across the country.  Throughout 2011 & 2012 the National Tequila Party Movement visited universities and cities in an effort to help get out the Latino vote pushing support for pro immigrant politicians.  We hosted tequila party rallies (countering the extremist tea party movement) in states such as Arizona, Nebraska, Kansas, Nevada, Texas, Florida, New York, Indiana, Michigan, and more.  New emerging Latino artists performed at our tequila rallies and created songs with regard to the immigration movement.

A portion of our CD sales will go to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students since they have to approximately $575.00 for documentation fees + attorney fees, and the other portion of our CD sales will go to Mexican-American artists who helped contribute their talents to this important message.

Our goal is to communicate through music with regard to the humanitarian aspect of immigration.  Mexicans and other immigrants are not asking for a handout – they are seeking earned legal immigration reform.  Chicanos and American citizens are here to push the American Dream, and we know that when our Nation continues to be a Beacon and a light to the Globe – blessings come our way.

The launch of our Tequila CD will take place on April 5, 2012.  We will be having a concert to promote our CD in the heart of where the draconian anti-immigrant law originated.

Date:  Friday, April 5, 2013

Time:  7:00 pm

Location:The Lot -  1005 North Second Street, Phoenix, AZ.

For more information, contact:  DeeDee Garcia Blase – (480) 200-3748

Music taps into emotions of the human spirit and it also connects it to a memory.  The world is ready for new and emerging talented lyricists and musicians who are able to express ideas that embrace love, life, and positive political messages. Musicians who have a sincere concern for the direction of our nation ought to rise up — because the time is now for their message to be received by others in the most memorable medium possible.

They say Spanish is the language of love and it is wonderful to hear the fusion of English and Spanish music challenging hate and bigotry.

Former Republican Governor of New Mexico, now Libertarian Gary Johnson calls out the cowards and says Mitt Romney is wacky nuts

Monday, October 15th, 2012

For the record:  We have similar cowards here in Maricopa County.

What I especially appreciated about Gary Johnson recently was when he called Mitt Romney a wacky nuts. Mitt Romney has been toeing the extremist tea party views that are antiquated.

Thank you, Mr. Johnson.  I concur.  Mitt Romney is crazy! Indeed the Mormons of Utah, and the farmers there no darned well how Latinos benefit the agricultural industry.  Without them, we could not be one of the best transporters of food to the entire world.

More importantly, Mitt Romney makes the Mormon church look like hypocrites, after all, the Mormon Church in Salt Lake City, UT, and their leadership supports the Utah Compact on immigration.  Does Romney know how many Latinos the Mormon church converts  from the Catholic Church to the Church of Latter Day Saints these days?  The Mormon Church is converting millions of Latinos — and for what?  For one of their own prior bishops like Romney to boot them out of our country when he knows damn well they help our economy?

Mitt Romney on the other hand supports the extremist Tea Party views of Russell Pearce who was recently ousted out of Arizona State Senate due to his extremism.  Kris Kobach is next to be recalled.

All of these isolationists, protectionists, restrictionist candidates have one thing in common:  TO DESTROY PRO GROWTH and FREE MARKET ideas as it relates to immigration.  Mitt Romney’s self deportation views will hurt farmers, the agricultural industry, the hotel industry, the construction industry and so on.

Kudos to Gary for calling Mitt Romney wacky. I believe Mr. RomneyCare is a complete charlatan and has history of abusing the middle class via Bain Capital.

From Gary Johnson:

Anti-Johnson Crowd is Full of Cowards

Not a day goes by when I get a message from a conservative telling me that I must vote for Mitt Romney, not just because a vote for Gary Johnson (or anyone other than Romney or Obama) would be a wasted vote, but that we must vote for the one guy who has a shot of defeating Obama to save our country. That we absolutely cannot vote for anyone other than Romney, because if Obama gets another four years this country will no longer exist. There’s a reason for this.

They’re cowards.

Some examples of the comments I’ve received:

We are on the preverbial roof of a house while the flood waters are rising. The rescue boat is here to help us off the roof and to drier ground. Are you going to say, no I would rather stay on the roof until a helicopter comes because I like helicopters better?

And:

Let me be clear, Romney was not my first, second, third, fourth,or even fifth choice! But I would vote for the town drunk before I voted for Obama. As far as the status quo you say, well I think we have to STOP THE BLEEDING, you may not agree with that approach but the last four years of the wrecking ball smashing away at the economy everyday I believe we need to try a different approach. Such as getting more people back to work so there is more people paying taxes.

The thing is that there is virtually no evidence that Romney is either A) piloting the rescue boat coming to get us, or B) going to do anything to stop the bleeding. The man is very acutely interesting in expanding our military budget, while doing little to reform our bloated entitlements or actually cutting spending beyond the Corporation for Public Broadcasting—which is a good move, but not enough to save us from the black hole we’re spiraling into.

Because of the utter lack of differences between Romney and Obama, I must ask why people are being so forceful in demanding we vote for Romney. The only conclusion I can come to is that they are cowards. They are not being brave or courageous, as they may think they are. Rather, they are being motivated entirely by fear.

Actually, “motivated” is the wrong word. The proper word is “controlled.” They are being controlled by their fear, consumed by it. Instead of being in control of their own destinies, they are so wracked by fear that they are just reacting to it, being virtual slaves to it.

For what it’s worth, it’s understandable and I sympathize. Obama has been a disaster in the White House. The economic recovery can be best described as “anemic,” or a “noncovery.” He’s also been fairly bad on foreign policy, atrocious on civil liberties (NDAA, anyone?), created the monstrosity known as Obamacare, and at every step has either trampled on the Constitution or made it harder for Americans to actually go back to work. His administration has been a wreck.

But does that mean we should vote for Romney?

I don’t know about you, but watching the debate in Denver last week, it was pretty clear that Romney isn’t much different. First off, the man said that he “loves green energy.” That’s become a watchword for “wasteful corporate subsidies” and a synonym for “Solyndra.” Second, he also said he didn’t want to cut education spending. That’s a huge waste in our government, and while not the #1 thing dragging us down (that’s entitlements and military spending, the former Romney will do jack on and the latter he wants to increase), that is something that can definitely be cut. That he doesn’t want to shows he isn’t serious about fixing our problems and is not the savior conservatives want.

But they gloss over all of these flaws to relentlessly push for Romney, a man just eight months ago they hated with a passion. They gloss over the fact that Romney is really just Obama, only with Caucasian skin and a red tie. They gloss over all his statements where he has proven he isn’t a believer in truly limited government.

Instead of taking a principled stand, they cower in the shadow of Obama. So overcome with fear of this one man they have allowed themselves to be duped into voting for what is essentially his “conservative” surrogate. That is not courage. To vote for a man who represents no change from the status quo, except that he is from the opposite party of the incumbent, is nothing more than abject cowardice.

This has to end. Until we as Americans stand up for literal free markets and a truly free society, will we have no solace. We cannot and must not allow fear to dictate our actions. That’s not the America I grew up in, and it’s certainly not the America I want to leave to my eventual children.

I am not a coward. And that is why I—as a private citizen—will not vote Republican this year.

Lou Show interview regarding the Arizona political climate, Russell Pearce, Sheriff Arpaio and “De-kookification”

Monday, July 23rd, 2012

The Lou Show interviews foundress of the National Tequila Party Movement (Latina-led counter movement to the Tea Party) regarding  the Arizona political climate, Russell Pearce, the Sheriff Arpaio race,  “De-kookification” of the Arizona Capitol, how the Democratic Party leadership is losing 52,000 registered Democratic voters, independent voters surge and etc.

Colorado Likely to Stay Blue in 2012 Presidential Elections Since Colorado House Republicans voted against Colorado Asset Bill

Saturday, April 28th, 2012

The House Republicans in the State of Colorado killed the Colorado Asset bill.  This means, the State of Colorado will more than likely stay blue in 2012 for

Nativist Tom Tancredo of Colorado joined by Arizona Nativist JD Hayworth

President Obama since the Tom Tancredo “affect” is negatively affecting the Colorado GOP image with Hispanics. Tom Tancredo and his Immigration Reform Caucus is responsible for not supporting former President George W. Bush’s comprehensive immigration reform plan when Republicans owned the House and Senate.  Tom Tancredo has darkened the doorsteps to the GOP house and the unintended consequences will be significant in states with high Mexican-American population.  In 2008, the State of Colorado registered approximately 225,000 new eligible Latino voters virtually painting Colorado blue with Tom Tancredo’s help.  In Arizona, we see a sharp increase in new eligible Latino voters registering due to the hostility we received from former Sen. Russell Pearce, Sheriff Arpaio, Gov. Jan Brewer, and etc.

Latino families will not vote for Republicans who do not have mercy on children.

The Three Nativist Arizona extremists - Ousted Russell Pearce, soon to be ousted Sheriff Joe arpaio (by Mike Stauffer for Sheriff) and JD Hayworth who was ousted by a Democrat in Arizona when he lost his Congressional seat. Extremism doesn't pay.

Latinos must vote in droves in they year 2012 and send Washington a message that we are awake and paying close attention.

Republicans must support the original version of the DREAM Act via Utah’s Orrin Hatch DREAM Act bill if they want to prevent the southwestern part of the United States from turning blue.   Congressional seats were gained in 2010 due to population growth in the Southwestern part of the Nation.   Southwestern Latinos in key swing Presidential states like Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, California and Texas are rejecting Senator Marco Rubio’s DREAM Act since it only offers table scraps of the Republican version of the DREAM Act Sen. Orrin Hatch introduced 10 years ago.  This is unfortunate since Marco Rubio and his family has received amnesty via the Cuban Adjustment Act.  If Republicans do not want to support their own version of the DREAM Act introduced by Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah, perhaps it is time to implement a Mexican Adjustment Act that emulates the Cuban Adjustment Act.

GOP chairman ‘disappointed’ party killed undocumented tuition bill

DENVER — Colorado GOP Chairman Ryan Call, who is now focused on improving the party’s standing with Latino voters ahead of the November election, told FOX31 Denver Friday that he’s disappointed that House Republicans this week killed a measure that would have made college more affordable for undocumented students who qualify.

Senate Bill 15, dubbed “Colorado ASSET” by sponsors, died Wednesday before the House Finance Committee when all seven Republicans who form a majority on the panel held firm and voted against it.

“I would be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed in the vote,” Call told FOX31 Denver. “I am. It does make it more difficult for Republicans to talk about issues that are important to the Hispanic community when a bill like that can’t get through the legislature.”

Arizona Immigration Activist Revisits SB 1070 in light of Supreme Court hearing

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

As an immigration activist living in Arizona, I wrote the following opinon with regard to the upcoming SB1070 hearing that will be heard in the Supreme Court.

The GOP Cannot Hide the Arizona SB 1070 ‘Large Elephant’ in the Room

By DeeDee Garcia Blase

The Supreme Court hearing regarding Arizona’s SB1070 will be a vote mover in the southwestern part of the United States.  The scab of an old wound will be ripped off and exposed once again within our community as the issue comes to the forefront again.  Instead of hanging out at the courthouse protesting against SB1070, we will protest via our vote  during the upcoming 2012 Presidential elections.  We must identify in a realistic manner what the best option will be for us that is directly hurting and affecting our community.

According to ABC News:

Kris Kobach, a key drafter of Arizona’s controversial immigration law, will be in Washington on Wednesday to hear the Supreme Court discuss the legality of the tough state measure that empowers local police to enforce federal immigration laws.  Kobach, who worked closely with former Arizona State Sen. Russell Pearce in crafting the 2010 law, said he stays in close touch with the Mitt Romney campaign.

These days, we are witnessing multiple-choice Mitt Romney make moves as he tries to disassociate himself from Kris Kobach.  Many within our Latino community believe it is too little and too late – specifically in the southwestern part of our Country where most of the  Mexican-American population resides.

Unfortunately for Romney, he has made too many damning statements when he chose to align himself with Pete Wilson and Kris Kobach.   Other known extremists such as the Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, and the ousted former Arizona State Senator  Russell Pearce have also gotten behind him.  This does not come as a surprise to us since we witnessed nativist and former Congressman Tom Tancredo endorse Romney in 2007.  In fact, Romney designated controversial Sheriff Joe Arpaio as his Arizona Chair when he ran against Senator John McCain during the 2008 GOP primaries.

We now live in an Information Age where Americans receive their news via YouTube, the internet and social networking – and as a result of the digital footprint now made available to us, the Karl Rovian way is becoming more of an ineffective antiquated strategy.  We are now able to file away and organize flip-flops when it comes to stances politicians have taken regarding government policy.

Elis Foley with the Huffington Post writes:

Romney has said repeatedly that he supports the Arizona’s right to pass such a law and would drop a federal lawsuit against it were he elected — perhaps not an explicit endorsement, but one that implies he supports the law, at least for Arizona.

Romney also has advocated for what he called “self-deportation,” or making things difficult for undocumented immigrants until they decide to leave, one of the central tenets of the Arizona law. One of his informal advisers on immigration, SB 1070 architect and Kansas secretary of state Kris Kobach, supports the law as a model for nationwide enforcement.

“[Self-deportation] is in SB 1070,” Pearce said.

As the GOP scrambles desperately for an effort to woo the Latino vote in light of an election cycle, many of us will remember that no leading Republican

Senate Bill 1070 Signed Into Law By Arizona Governor Jan Brewer who recently endorsed Mitt Romney for 2012 President

organizations stood strong against SB1070 in 2010 when the immigration issue reached a fevered pitch except for one –  SOMOS REPUBLICANS.  SOMOS was widely known for being the only Republican organization in the nation that stood against the anti-immigrant SB 1070 law when Republican Gov. Jan Brewer signed the bill into action. Latinos were ultimately left to fend for themselves in Arizona.  Several conservative leaning groups (including Hispanic Republican groups) supported the Arizona governor.  We were dismayed when we heard Senator Marco Rubio’s support of the Arizona harsh anti-immigrant law.

The Republican Party lacked foresight and leadership with regard to an issue near and dear to Latinos,  and now they must face the music and become the Party of personal responsibility.  The RNC turned a blind eye to several Republican lawmakers who supported anti-immigrant policies. They also turned a blind eye to the many hostile remarks regarding the treatment of immigrants. RNC leadership was nowhere to be found, until now because now they want our vote.

While it is true that President Obama did not give us immigration reform during his first year as President, Latinos must go back in American history and figure out why.  We need to remind ourselves that there have been no recent American Presidents who tackled comprehensive immigration reform within their first term.  Former President Ronald Reagan did not give immigrant amnesty until he was re-elected as President.  Former President George W. Bush did not address comprehensive immigration reform until his second term because he did not believe there was an immigration problem to begin with.  The only President that supported immigrant-friendly policies during his first term as President was Benjamin Harrison and he did not get re-elected for a second term.

Should it be a complete surprise to us that President Obama has not confronted immigration during his first term?  The immigration issue has become one of the most toxic issues in our time since the Republican Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo launched his restrictionist Immigration Reform Caucus.   Meanwhile, myth-maker  (R-TX) Congressman Lamar Smith has been busy writing opinion after opinion falsely accusing President Obama as a supporter of amnesty even though he knows Obama has deported more immigrants than Bush.  The anti-immigrant sentiment continued to mount when Florida’s Cuban-American Sen. Marco Rubio stated Ronald Reagan erred in supporting  the 1986 amnesty for immigrants (despite the Cuban amnesty afforded to his own family).

So what options are Latinos left with as we revisit the painful wounds of SB 1070 during  2012?

Here are some options:

1)     We can take our chances with a President who is going to enter his second term as President because he no longer has to worry about getting re-elected

2)     Or, we could gamble away our vote with a candidate who has solid ties to Kris Kobach, (the architect behind many of these anti-immigrant and DREAM Act laws), Pete Wilson, Jan Brewer, and Russell Pearce who are all promoters of the infamous self-deportation law via SB 1070.

Unless there is a brokered GOP Convention, there really is no third option for Latinos.

Let us be honest –  I do not believe a President will ever address immigration reform within his first term.  Just the same, I do not believe Latinos are willing to gamble with a candidate that has made deals with devils via Pete Wilson, Kris Kobach, Joe Arpaio’s  posse, and the vast majority of the Archie Bunker wing.

UNIVISION NOTICIAS: Tying (the sponsor of the SB 1070 law) former Sen. Russell Pearce millstone to Mitt Romney.

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

Russell Pearce on record for welcoming "Operation Wetback" policies, and we believe Mitt Romney is no different with his "self-deportation" ideas.

We are witnessing the ‘multiple-choice’ Mitt Romney make moves to disassociate himself from Kris Kobach, but many in the Latino community believe it is too little and too late.

We live in the Information Age where Americans receive their news via youtube, internet and social networking.  The Karl Rovian way is now an antiquated strategy and unfortunately for Romney — he has made too many damning statements when he decided to align himself with the likes of Pete Wilson and Kris Kobach.  In fact, Pete Wilson helped in fundraising for Mitt Romney recently in San Diego, California.

According to the UNIVISION NOTICIAS:

But at the same time, Romney has essentially endorsed the philosophical underpinning of the Arizona law as his immigration strategy: attrition by enforcement or “self-deportation” as it’s better known. It’s the theory advocated by Romney’s on-again, off-again unpaid immigration adviser, Kris Kobach, who helped author the framework of the Arizona law.

“The answer is self-deportation, which is people decide they can do better by going home because they can’t find work here because they don’t have legal documentation to allow them to work here,” Romney said when asked at a January debate about what he would do with the nearly 12 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. “And so we’re not going to round people up.”

………  Former Arizona state Sen. Russell Pearce (R), the ousted chief author of the SB 1070 law, will be in Washington one day before oral arguments begin to testify at a hearing on the law sponsored by Senate Democrats. Earlier this month, he provided fodder for Democrats when he commented on Romney’s position on his law.

“His immigration policy is identical to mine,” Pearce told the Washington Post. “Attrition by enforcement. It’s identical to mine – enforce the laws. We have good laws, just enforce them.”

Dee Dee Garcia Blase, an independent Latina activist who head the National Tequila Party movement, said that people like Pearce will act as a “millstone around Romney’s neck.”

“It’s a vote mover,” she said. “SB 1070 is going to wake up the Southwest.”

CAPTION: Multiple Choice Mitt Romney is Latino Kryptonite

Earlier today we heard New York Senator Chuck Schumer ask the former Arizona ousted State Senator Russell Pearce some piercing questions.

According to POLITICO:

“What does an illegal immigrant dress like?” Schumer asked Pearce.

In response, Pearce said that manual was developed in conjunction with federal immigration officials.

…….Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) also traded jabs with Pearce over the DREAM Act, which would offer minors who meet certain requirements a pathway to citizenship.

“All of us have a heart and all of us have compassion,” Pearce said, calling the bill “blanket amnesty.” “But laws without consequences are no laws at all.”

Durbin responded: “Mr. Pearce, the DREAM Act is not a blanket amnesty.”

We are also hearing  of news stories  from our own Arizona Senator Jon Kyl who believes the immigration hearing is a ‘theater.’

We have one thing to say to the despicable sounding Senator Kyl …

Perhaps Sen. Kyl can call it “theater”  to the many families who are being FORCED apart and jailed for working at a fast food restaurant while Sheriff Joe Arpaio mispends millions and millions of Arizona taxpayer dollars.  Tell that to the many AMERICAN-BORN children who have been left behind in foster homes because their mommies and daddies have been deported.

Sen. Kyl is not helping the Republican Party win Latino votes with his heartless and uncaring comments.

Senator Kyl was not only a ‘no-show’ to the SB 1070 hearing …  the Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and Senator John McCain were also ‘no-shows’.   Pearce ended up looking like a lonely jackass even though several Republican lawmakers  (including Senator Marco Rubio) were in support of Arizona’s SB 1070 draconian law.  Senator Marco Rubio toed the Party line and had many things to say when we were being kicked down and out … but now he is nowhere to be found to testify in support of the Arizona law he said he was for during 2010.

Ah yes … it must be an election year.  Of course, yet these sick and twisted politicians continue to play political football with immigration and the Latino community.

In response to one of Durbin’s examples, Pearce said there should be exceptions that allow some people a pathway to citizenship. But he said he opposes “blanket amnesty” that would be created by the DREAM Act.

Though Schumer was clearly opposed to SB1070, he lauded Pearce for being the only advocate of the bill to attend the hearing and took a swipe at Brewer, who declined his invitation and called the hearing a publicity stunt. Brewer is in Washington, D.C., and will attend Wednesday’s Supreme Court oral arguments on SB1070.

“He’s had his opportunity to make his case. Gov. Brewer wouldn’t come,” Schumer said. “We don’t agree. That’s obvious. But you’ve had the courage and integrity to come here and defend your views.”

Schumer chastised his Republican colleagues for not attending the hearing. Most of the subcommittee’s Democratic members didn’t attend either.

One subcommittee member, Republican Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl, said the hearing was nothing more than “political theater” meant to sway the Supreme Court’s opinion.

After the hearing, Pearce said Kyl probably had a good reason for not attending, but said he would’ve liked to get a heads-up from the senator beforehand.

“This is his state,” Pearce said.

Texas Senator John Cornyn’s “mañana” comment inappropriate regarding Arizona’s SB1070 law

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

Texas Senator John Cornyn’s “mañana” comment is highly offensive and inappropriate to the Latino community, because “ayer” the Texas Senator had the opportunity to vote in support of the DREAM Act bill in December 2010 where he ultimately VOTED NO against our youth.

There was no reason the Texas Senator could not take a lead on the DREAM Act because he represents a state where many of his constituents are of Mexican-American descent.

According to Talking Points Memo:

Sen. John Cornyn (TX), the ranking member of the Judiciary subcommittee, called the hearing a futile exercise and, following the lead of other Republicans, he took a swipe at President Obama for failing to pass immigration reform.

“Unfortunately, the Democrat majority seems to have embraced President Obama’s ‘mañana’ approach to immigration reform,” Cornyn said in a statement.

A message to the Texas Senator:

We are all for legal immigration, Senator Cornyn, and not every Latino ethnic group is able to receive Cuban Amnesty because no Republican leadership in any of the high Hispanic populated states are taking leadership for legal immigration reform.  Mexicans that make up a significant part of your state are still waiting for you to take a lead on the Mexican Adjustment Act you should have taken “ayer.”

P.S.  You are no longer an amigo to those who had hoped you would support the DREAM Act vote of 2010.

Sahil Kapur with TPM writes:

Arizona’s controversial immigration measure has inspired numerous boycotts — and on Tuesday, it provoked another, when Senate Republicans refused to show up at a hearing on the measure. The hearing took place one day before the Supreme Court begins to weigh its constitutionality, leaving Democrats to spar with the author of the measure and paint the GOP as “absent” — literally — on immigration reform.

The hearing comes ahead of an election in which the two parties are battling for Hispanic voters, who strongly oppose the S.B. 1070 law and who lean Democratic by a huge margin. The Democrats’ hearing reflects an effort to highlight this divide, in part because they used the occasion to make an impassioned case for the DREAM Act.

There were only 6 Democratic Senators who did not vote in support of the DREAM Act, however, there were 39 Republican Senators  below who voted against the DREAM Act in 2010.  They showed no mercy and compassion before they took their Christmas vacations in 2010.   Will Senator John McCain and Senator Jon Kyl retire with the legend of being anti-children and anti-immigrant? Hell, Senator Orrin Hatch clearly doesn’t stand by the principles of the Utah Compact.  Isn’t this nation great because of the immigrants that landed on Plymouth?

Below is a list of United States Republican Senators who will receive an F on an immigration score card currently being prepared in light of the 2012 Presidential Elections.  An immigration score card will be circulated to all High Hispanic populated states and our media contacts.  We encourage the below United States Senators to pass the DREAM Act and fix the broken immigration system before they take their Holiday or Christmas vacation in 2011.  The judgment that is passed on our children will be reciprocal.

Below are all of the Republicans Senators who voted Nay during the DREAM Act vote in December 2010:

Alexander (R-TN),
Barrasso (R-WY),
Bond (R-MO),
Brown (R-MA),
Brownback (R-KS),
Burr (R-NC),
Chambliss (R-GA),
Coburn (R-OK),
Cochran (R-MS),
Collins (R-ME),
Corker (R-TN),
Cornyn (R-TX),
Crapo (R-ID),
DeMint (R-SC),
Ensign (R-NV),
Enzi (R-WY),
Graham (R-SC),
Grassley (R-IA),
Hutchison (R-TX),
Inhofe (R-OK),
Isakson (R-GA),
Johanns (R-NE),
Kirk (R-IL),
Kyl (R-AZ),
LeMieux (R-FL),
McCain (R-AZ),
McConnell (R-KY),
Risch (R-ID),
Roberts (R-KS),
Sessions (R-AL),
Shelby (R-AL),
Snowe (R-ME),
Thune (R-SD),
Vitter (R-LA),
Voinovich (R-OH),
Wicker (R-MS),

Note the 5 Democrats who voted nay. 60 votes were needed on the aye side for the measure to invoke cloture, which would have concluded debate on the matter so it could proceed to a vote for or against passage.

Not Voting – 4
Bunning (R-KY)
Gregg (R-NH)
Hatch (R-UT)
Manchin (D-WV)   *Note:  Democratic Senator Manchin chose to attend a Christmas Party instead of voting.

*Note: Senator Marco Rubio repeatedly voiced his opposition against the DREAM Act and the blood of Joaquin is on his hands, too.  He is the worst of them all because he knows that Cubans receive privileged amnesty and does nothing to fix the broken immigration system knowing full well that other Hispanic ethnic groups do not receive special benefits that have been afforded to his family who migrated from Cuba.

Extremist and nativist Arizona Governor Jan Brewer endorses Mitt Romney for the GOP nominee

Sunday, April 15th, 2012

Recently the defeated and former Senator Russell Pearce stated he had a ‘connection’ to the 2012 Republican Presidential candidate — Mitt Romney. That connection is nativist ideology and anti-immigrant extremism they both have with their support for self deportation policies.  Both politicians have ties to Kris Kobach who is the legal architect to many of these voter suppression laws while attacking our 14th amendment of the United States Constitution.

According to HUFFPO:

After dining at a Tea Party event on Tuesday, former Arizona state Senate President Russell Pearce proclaimed his support for Romney, citing similar views on immigration as his key reason.

“His immigration policy is identical to mine,” Pearce said, according to The Washington Post. “Attrition by enforcement. It’s identical to mine — enforce the laws.”

After serving 10 years as a state legislator, Pearce was voted out of office last November in a special recall election. His lead role in crafting S.B. 1070 (Arizona’s controversial immigration law), along with his ties to a college football bowl game scandal, were contributing factors behind that loss.

Now that Romney has secured the endorsement of nativist and Tea Party extremist Russell Pearce, he is joined by our whacky State Governor — Jan Brewer.  The more Mitt Romney receives endorsements from Tea Party extremists, the heavier that millstone will get around his neck.

From THINK PROGRESS:

Nativist Gov. Jan Brewer Endorses Romney | On Meet the Press this morning, Gov. Jan Brewer (R-AZ) endorsed Mitt Romney for President. Although Brewer offered little explanation for her decision, citing only Romney’s “pro-business background” and his “political history,” it is not the least bit surprising that one of the nation’s leading nativist politicians is now backing Romney. Brewer signed SB 1070, the first of a wave of anti-immigrant bills authored by Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach (R), who has also endorsed Romney. Romney also campaigned with Kobach on Martin Luther King Day, despite the fact that Kobach is an attorney with the legal arm of an organization the Southern Poverty Law Center designates a “nativist hate group.” Watch Brewer’s endorsement here.

Cartoon: New face of the ‘so-called’ pro life Republican

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

The New Face of the GOP

This cartoon depicting Republican Nebraska Governor Heineman as a pro life hypocrite is on point. Talk about politicians who beat up on ‘girls’ — the Nebraska Governor takes the cake and makes the Democratic Ben Nelson look good.

Apparently the Governor of Nebraska thinks it is safe to pick on undocumented women who choose to keep their babies since he really does not have to worry about their votes in the immediate sense- and this seems to be the path Republicans are now willing to embrace.  The Nebraska Gov is placing a safe bet going against those who don’t have a right to vote.

The new face of the Republican Party now consists of Kris Kobach (architect of voter suppression and anti-immigrant laws), FAIR, NumbersUSA, Russell Pearce, Joe Arpaio, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, Andrew Thomas, Tom Tancredo, Steve King, Lamar Smith and etc.    Kris Kobach is the architect of anti-immigrant and anti-Latino legislation via FAIR.  Kris Kobach is advising GOP Candidate Mitt Romney.  FAIR began with the likes of John Tanton — a man who is on the record for stating he is anti-Catholic and has contributed to the Pioneer Fund.  It’s no wonder Moderate Republicans are fleeing the Republican Party in droves due to unreasonable tea party extremism.

Latinos will not put their faith in anti-Latino immigrant legislators in 2012.  I have money on it.

Board members of FAIR actively promote the sterilization of Third World women for the purposes of reducing U.S. immigration prospects. And if anything disturbs the good doctor more than those Latin American hordes crossing the Rio Grande, it’s the likelihood that most of them are Catholic, or so he once told a Reuters reporter.

BREAKING: Mike Stauffer for sheriff candidate almost at 25,000 signatures, on track to make 30,000 in a few days!

Sunday, March 25th, 2012

Mike Stauffer for Sheriff has already acquired almost 25,000 signatures as of last night.

This proves how much support Mike Stauffer is receiving from a broad political spectrum. His campaign has strong Libertarian, Independent, Republican and Democratic support. He is now just shy of 25,000 good signatures. There is NO DOUBT that Mike is getting on the ballot. His campaign has already checked their signatures in the data base and they are running a well organized campaign.

Much of his success in collecting these signatures in just over a month was solidly based on voter’s disgust with party politics, Democrat or Republican, owning the Sheriff’s office. Stauffer says “There is absolutely no room for partisan politics in law enforcement.” We need an Independent candidate who can garner broad political spectrum support as was the case during the Jerry Lewis campaign. MIKE STAUFFER CAN DO THAT. There are approximately 1/3 Republicans, 1/3 Independents, and just under 1/3 Democratic voters in the state of Arizona. The State of Arizona is not yet ready for a Democratic candidate because the Democrats have tried to oust Arpaio for about 20 years to no avail.

We cannot take a risk on yet another Democratic candidate when the Independent voters in our state have an inclination to swing more conservatively. Furthermore and more importantly, there is a reason why Richard Carmona is running as an Independent in our state.

Independent Candidates restores moderation from extremism and the State of Arizona is well known for extremism.

The electorate of Maricopa County are making it very clear that they will vote for credentials over party affiliation. This could not have been exhibited more clearly then during the recall election and ousting of Russell Pearce.

Every day, Arizonan’s are proving their very independent nature and are now taking action against radical party agendas. George Washington himself warned that party affiliation can easily overshadow the true good of the people and Arizona is a prime example.

Someone with the most basic understanding of elections knows, that at this juncture the only hope Maricopa County residents have is to have a credible Independent candidate face Arpaio in the general election. Mike Stauffer is that candidate. Stauffer is the only candidate for sheriff who has a documented plan and a vision for everyone. He is also the only candidate to hold a Masters Degree in Organizational Management, further demonstrating his credibility both at a personal and professional level and as the leader of choice.

The Latino community especially is encouraged to know there is a candidate that is knowledgeable and prepared to rebuild community relations and bring honest law enforcement back to the residents.

Voters from communities across the county are fed up with politicians and are marching for change.

The voters must stand united now and elect a true leader in the law enforcement community, a true statesman and a man who has a proven 29 year law enforcement career, spanning all facets of policing. Mike Stauffer is the man we need to lead us out of nearly 20 years of corruption.

This November 6, tell the state, the nation, the world, that you are secure in your independent voting decisions, and will no longer be lead by corrupt political agendas.

It’s TIME for Mike Stauffer to replace Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
