Paul Penzone a sham candidate?

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

I believe now is the time to begin calling out what we suspect to be a sham candidate, running to simply split the vote. If you did not see Bram R. on Ch12 Sunday Square Off, Paul Penzone’s name was mentioned and was quickly shot down by everyone at the table as unable to win. Mike Stauffer’s name however never came up, leading me to believe he is indeed a very credible candidate and very likely to be the first major threat to Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s reelection and the first candidate to most likely unseat Arpaio in November 2012.

Mike Stauffer (who is running for Maricopa County Sheriff) has Independents, Democratic and Republican voters volunteering for his campaign.  It’s time for Penzone to recognize what efforts it took to unseat former Senator Russell Pearce.  Senator Jerry Lewis — a moderate Republican unseated Pearce with the support of Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians and Independents.  It’s going to take a similar strategy to unseat Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Paul Penzone IS Olivia Cortes in this Maricopa County scenario and I believe he should get out of the race since he is going to spoil the vote.

Mike Stauffer, a 29-year police veteran believes in providing professional law enforcement and public safety services to all Maricopa County residents. Mike is guided by the Constitutional principles of due process and equality under the law as originally intended by the Founding Fathers.
Mike is concerned with the current state of law enforcement in Maricopa County. The constant string of lawsuits and lack of cooperation on the part of the Sheriff’s Office with other law enforcement agencies has seriously degraded the quality of public safety in the county. The current command staff has turned away from crime prevention and suppression in favor of political grandstanding and expansion of power.Mike pledges to work to improve inter-agency communication and cooperation between all law enforcement in Maricopa County on all levels.

“The “go it alone,” “rule through fear and intimidation” attitude of the current administration is inappropriate in dealing with today’s public safety issues. What is needed is strong cooperation and mutual respect between law enforcement leadership and personnel in Maricopa County. This new relationship will strengthen our ability to insure the safety and quality of life for all residents of Maricopa County. We will work together with all local, state and federal law enforcement and homeland security agencies to make this our top priority.”

Since 1983, Mike has been a member of the law enforcement community. He began his career with the NYPD as an Auxiliary Police Officer, while earning his undergraduate degree in Government & Politics at St. John’s University. Upon graduation, he went on to a full time career with NYPD. Mike was a patrol officer in Manhattan and Brooklyn. He also served as one of the first canine handlers in the NYPD’s Canine Unit. Mike also worked in the elite Narcotics Division in Manhattan as a narcotics investigator.

Mike came to Maricopa County in 1991 and joined the Scottsdale Police Department. Mike has served as a patrol officer and patrol sergeant. He has served as the department’s Staff Lieutenant, supervising the Internal Affairs Unit, the Public Information and Media Office, and the Budget Office. Mike’s current assignment is serving as a Watch Commander in the Patrol Division in Scottsdale’s Downtown District.

In addition to serving the community in crime prevention Mike is an online instructor for the Criminal Justice program at the University of Phoenix. Mike is an instructor of Constitutional Law at the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy.

Note to Arizona Senator Karen Johnson: Immigration Conspiracy Theories Will Backfire

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Above (Left) Sheriff Joe Arpaio and (Right) former Arizona State Senator Karen Johnson

In a recent story, former Arizona Senator Karen Johnson (Sen. Russell Pearce sympathizer) penned an opinion regarding the Utah Compact and her concern that it may derail Mitt Romney.  It’s unfortunate that she does not support the Utah Compact modeled after the Mayflower Compact.  The Mayflower compact was signed on board the Mayflower ship historically known for bringing Pilgrim immigrants from across the oceans.   In a symbolic way, this was the first American Constitution. John Quincy Adams, a child of Mayflower passenger John Alden, in principle calls  the Mayflower Compact the foundation of the U.S. Constitution in a speech given in 1802.  It is unfortunate for Ms. Johnson to forget about the Pilgrim immigrants who landed on Plymouth to help make this great nation that Shining City On A Hill.

It appears Johnson is in the business of myth-making.   I take issue with her false accusations that I am an “open borders” advocate, when in fact I helped architect and support Secure Borders and Legal Immigration Reform as the previous President of SOMOS REPUBLICANS.  I have since stepped down from leading SOMOS and changed my affiliation as an Independent voter due to the bigotry and the likes of Ms. Johnson.  Where was Johnson at when I was being a Patriot and honorably serving my country during Gulf War I?

Johnson wrote:

“Some Mesa LDS businessmen who support amnesty joined forces with the radical Left to take Senator Pearce down. One of these men, Daryl Williams, an LDS attorney who did not live in Pearce’s district but actively campaigned against him, gave firesides (an LDS cottage meeting) and seminars on the Utah Compact, never missing a chance to say that Senator Pearce was violating church doctrine.”

Her assumptions above are inaccurate as one can clearly see for themselves in the FIRESIDE ON IMMIGRATION video below of a lecture given by Daryl Williams discussing the Utah Compact.   If the Mayflower Compact, the Utah Compact and the CATO Institute positions on immigration are indeed radical, then she ought to make another study of what the term radical left really means.  In fact, one could easily depict her as wearing a tin foil hat filled with persecutory delusions as she was part of the 9/11 movement espousing the controlled demolition theory.

What’s next?

Accusing President Obama of not providing Americans with his real birth certificate?

CAPTION: LDS-Style Fireside on Immigration Lecture by Daryl Williams -- Hosted by DeeDee Garcia Blase

Johnson wrote:

The opponents announced their strategy early in the recall campaign. DeeDee Blase, head of Arizona’s Somos Republicans, an open borders advocacy group, said: “The biggest win with regard to our efforts is getting a special supporter who is a devout member and a member of the high council of the Mormon Church. We have scheduled lectures that will be specifically aimed to members of the LDS community as well as the business community. We know that Mesa has a Mormon stronghold, and in order for us to have an overall effective campaign, we must win over the Mormon community. It is imperative for them to know that Russell Pearce (a member of the LDS community) refuses to listen to the Mormon Prophet, and he refused to uphold the Constitution of the United States….

….Blase’s accusation revealed that the recall campaign would promote a religious test for holding office. “Obey the Mormon Church or you’re not qualified for election.” Pearce was repeatedly accused of being disobedient to his Church leaders because of his strong views on immigration. His opponent was portrayed as a choir boy who obeyed the prophet. It cost Pearce votes among LDS voters.

Blame for this dilemma goes not to the Marxist radicals who ran the campaign against Pearce or even to the LDS Church hierarchy, which had lobbied hard for the Utah immigration bills and seemed to support the Utah Compact. The blame goes entirely to the members of the LDS Church in Pearce’s legislative district who swallowed the false argument that Pearce’s highest duty as an elected official was to satisfy the wishes of the LDS Church.

Ms. Johnson is entirely mistaken on my being an open borders advocate, and she must be learned to the history and stances on immigration I have had because facts are stubborn things. Provided below is what I have publicly supported before I stepped down as President of SOMOS REPUBLICANS:

12 Steps to Securing Our Borders and Legal Immigration

1.       BORDER SECURITY:  The preservation of our national security must be the paramount objective of the immigration policy of the United States.  At least 5,000 additional border patrol agents should be added on the border between the United States and Mexico and an additional 10,000 border patrol agents should be assigned to duty on the North border. In addition, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) should work in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to take appropriate measures, including the addition of drug and bomb sniffing canine units that will deter drug activities.

2.       PROCESSING APPLICATION FEES:  The creation of a path to citizenship for undocumented persons should not increase the bureaucracy in Washington or add to the already heavy burdens on the American taxpayer.  All applications for legal status by undocumented immigrants should be processed as efficiently as possible and all expenses in connection with the processing of such applications, including background checks, should be borne by the applicant in the amount of $500.00

3.       OFFENSE FINE: There is no right that we Americans hold more dearly than the privilege of calling ourselves citizens of the United States.  We do not advocate amnesty, therefore, undocumented individuals should be required to pay a fine as a civil penalty (not to exceed $1,500 per person of $5,000 per family) for entering in the country illegally and after a background check clearance has been carried out.

4.       REGISTRATION: Upon enactment, undocumented persons must register with the DHS for background check, and wait until the border is certified as “secure” by DHS in order to trigger legalization. Persons should be given the opportunity to remain in the United States as residents with a temporary legal status

5.       REGULARIZATION PROCESS: Upon certification, undocumented immigrants who satisfy the requirements for temporary legal status with moral character and no criminal record will enter into a six year program before becoming citizens of the United States.  No participants in the program shall be entitled to receive any federal government assistance while they are in the program which will consist of three phases.

6.       PAYING BACK TAXES: Undocumented immigrants must apply for a Social Security Number from the IRS and pay any income taxes owed.  We recognize that undocumented immigrants contribute to the system by paying state and federal sales, use and excise taxes.

7.       ASSIMILATION AND MANDATORY ENGLISH EDUCATION: Undocumented immigrants who are qualified to enter the Regularization Process shall be required to take courses in English and Civics as a condition to obtain a certificate of completion for citizenship.  The hours of study should be twice the amount to what the Reagan Administration had proposed as part of immigration legislation championed by the President in the 1980s.

8.      THE U.S. LABOR MARKET / AG JOBS / D.R.E.A.M. ACT: Individuals who satisfy all of the requirements of the Regularization Process shall become permanent legal residents of the United States.  Depending upon the labor demands, the DHS can begin the Green Card process if employment levels are 5% or below.  If the national unemployment levels are greater than 6%, the DHS will only process those (a) undocumented immigrants working in unskilled  industries where the demand for their labor remains very high such  as the case in the agricultural and hospitality sectors, (b) highly skilled workers in competitive industries where demand cannot be satisfied by the existing population of legal residents of the United States and (c) individuals who complete or have previously completed four (4) years of service in the United States Armed Forces. Individuals not satisfying such criteria would be granted a two year extension of the Regularization Process status.

Entire Secure Borders and Legal Immigration Reform Position Paper found here.

No where in the above position paper does it indicate I am an open borders advocate as she claims.  In fact, the fees, fines, and the background checks entirely debunk her conspiracy theory.

In addition to the open borders theory Johnson has invented, I took note of her hypocritical stances when she wrote:

The LDS Church has on occasion taken strong positions on moral issues such as abortion, homosexual marriage, and the Equal Rights Amendment. Churches have every right to take a position on moral issues, of course. They also have a right to take positions on policy issues, such as immigration. Church voices are important in public debate. However, elected officials must always remember that when they vote on a particular bill, they are acting as elected officials, not representatives of their Church.

In other words, in the above it appears Johnson is fine with individuals and religious leaders taking a stance on abortions and homosexual marriages, but it appears she wants those same individuals to not get involved on matters that would lend compassion towards immigrants and/or fellow mankind.

Finally, Karen Johnson need not concern herself with regard to how the Utah Compact will derail Mitt Romney.  Romney will purely derail himself and this is

Mitt Romney the Gordon Gekko of our era

indicative to me because he is not abreast with regard to how the immigration tide has already changed when moderate Republican candidate Jerry Lewis beat extremist Republican Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce during the November 2011 Special Elections.

I dismissively wager $10,000.00 that Mitt Romney will end up looking like Wall Street’s Gordon Gekko when all is said and done.  Romney proved he resorts to money when all else fails as he continues to act like a spoiled rotten rich little kid.

Tying the Russell Pearce millstone loss to Sheriff Joe Arpaio – then Steve Montenegro

Friday, November 18th, 2011

We are so happy to hear how aggressive the Mike Stauffer for Sheriff campaign is taking to ensure a win over Joe Arpaio.  They are doing many, many wonderful things and have been working strong and hard since summer of this year.  They have already received broad bipartisan support from reasonable Republicans, Independents, Democrats, and Libertarians since he changed from a registered Republican to a registered Independent.   Somos Republicans endorsed Mike Stauffer on September 30, but taking down Joe Arpaio will take a BROAD coalition of support in very much the same manner that Russell Pearce was ousted.  The National Tequila Party Movement will do all that it takes to collect signatures to help get Mike on the ballot.  Mike needs 35,000 signatures.  Please email info@nationaltequilapartymovement.com to help us collect the 35,000 he needs.

Arpaio has a $5-6 million dollar war chest and the Stauffer campaign knows it.  That said, the Stauffer campaign is hungry.  Mike knows in the pit of his soul the millions and millions of dollars that were wasted on Joe’s corruption.

The Tequila Party will make every effort in tying the Russell Pearce millstone loss to Sheriff Joe Arpaio….then Steve Montenegro, then Congressman David Schweikert and all the other politicians who supported Pearce and his draconian anti-Mexican laws.

The below photo is of Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Joe Arpaio.

Steve Montenegro of all people disappointed us the most.  He was a minister of an evangelical church, and he slammed the door behind him on immigrants (when he supported Arizona’s harsh anti-immigrant law) after he and his family enjoyed the compassion afforded to his family when he came here as an immigrant.

We look forward to Steve Montenegro being replaced.  After all, he is just like Russell Pearce, too.

The next Arizona political fight: Mike Stauffer for Sheriff will replace Joe Arpaio

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Pre Russell Pearce Recall and the win of Jerry Lewis special elections, we wrote about Mike Stauffer for Sheriff who has the ability to replace Joe Arpaio.

The Mike Stauffer campaign knew that the momentum would be on their side with regard to Arpaio once the moderate Republican (Jerry Lewis) beat the extremist Republican (Russell Pearce).  On October 24, 2011, Mike Stauffer launched their Spanish website and I wrote about it here.

Mike Stauffer is the Jerry Lewis player in this campaign against Joe Arpaio since every Arizonan knows that Arpaio and Russell Pearce are basically political bosom-buddies.  Make no mistake, it took a Republican to beat a Republican, and Mike Stauffer is a former long life Republican golden-boy type who just recently switched to the Independent party because of the extreme nature of the tea party supporters here in Arizona (immigration ground zero).

Mike Stauffer changed his affiliation from the Republican Party to the Independent Party and since we all know that the voting demographics in Arizona are to the tune of 1/3 Republican voters, and 1/3 Independent voters to under 1/3 Democratic voters, it made sense for Stauffer to switch to the Independent Party so that he didn’t have to worry about the Republican Primary elections.  He can just beat Arpaio during the general elections. For the record, Independents tend to vote conservatively in our state of Arizona — just ask Felecia Rotellini (blue dog Democrat) who almost beat Tom Horne in 2010 for the Attorney General position.

Mike Stauffer has an impeccable track record, and we hope that nobody enters this race to dilute the voting pool.  Mike Stauffer WILL beat Joe Arpaio, and if another person from the Democratic or Independent Party chooses to run against Joe Arpaio….we will view that move as one we witnessed with regard to the whole Olivia Cortes scandal with regard to the Special Elections race that could have prevented Jerry Lewis from beating Russell Pearce.

I am seeking volunteers to collect signatures for the man who can beat Joe Arpaio.  Please email me at info@nationaltequilapartymovement.com if you want to help Mike Stauffer for Sheriff!

We are excited to see Joe Arpaio’s corruption leave the state of Arizona.  Joe Arpaio has wasted millions and millions of Arizona tax dollars.

PREDICTION: Republican Candidate Jerry Lewis beats Russell Pearce by 7 points in Special Elections

Monday, November 7th, 2011

By DeeDee Garcia Blase

The Russell Pearce Special Elections is historic and crucial to what will set the direction of our country beginning Tuesday night, November 8, 2011.  Russell Pearce sponsored the very fist anti-immigrant law via SB 1070 that sparked similar state laws across the nation. If Pearce loses tomorrow, this will decrease the anti-immigrant and anti-Latino momentum as the anti-immigrant crowd continues to get seen for their bigotry.

Here is my prediction.  Republican Candidate Jerry Lewis will beat Russell Pearce by 7 points.

Right now the City of Mesa, Arizona, is divided.  Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS)  recently caught up with the Utah LDS news regarding how the Mormon or LDS church views the immigration issue.  In fact, the LDS Church issued a statement for their support of the Utah Compact.   The Church regards the declaration of the Utah Compact as a responsible approach to the urgent challenge of immigration reform.

In addition to the Utah LDS news catching up with the Mesa LDS community, we saw Russell Pearce experience a financial scandal via the FIESTA BOWL.   He refused to answer the questions the public had of him with regard to the shady under-the-table financial dealings and what possible political perks he received with that.

When Pearce thought he was above the law with regard to the nasty financial scandal, the community started to pay attention and scrutinize him more carefully.

Next came the infamous Olivia Cortes scandal in which Russell Pearce supporters and Tea Party supporters took advantage of a fellow Latina and Mormon.  Cortes by her own testimony confessed that she was not politically educated on how to run campaigns.  She turned over her campaign and relied upon a Tea Party Chairman, Greg Western, where they were able to get her name on the ballot in an effort to siphon votes from Latinos.

Using Olivia Cortes was extremely frowned upon within the LDS community in Mesa, and the dirty tactics of the Pearce supporters ripped Mormon relationships further.  Good members of the LDS Church were beginning to see the Tea Party and Pearce supporters’ divisiveness.

Now fast forward to what occurred this past weekend before the November 8, 2011 — days before Tuesday night election day.

Russell Pearce was invited by the largest Hispanic Republican group in the nation to attend a FIRESIDE ON IMMIGRATION  and the ARIZONA COMPACT debate with a fellow member of the LDS Church.  Not only did Pearce not show up to the fireside in Mesa, he did not have the courtesy to respond to multiple emails and requests.  In fact, a letter was hand delivered to the State Senate Capitol offices and the Security Officer ensured that Senator Pearce’s office would be in receipt of it.  Without Russell Pearce attending, the FIRESIDE ON IMMIGRATION discussion continued at the Mesa Public Library  on November 5th, 2011,  and the video can be seen here.  Daryl Williams is a prominent commercial trial lawyer and he gave an attorney-like presentation with regard to why Pearce stands on the wrong side of American history.  Folks like Daryl help to repair bad images that Pearce has created within the  GOP and the LDS community. In fact, Daryl believes there should be no room for restrictionists and isolationists within the Party that claims to be for free markets and capitalism.

The plot thickens, as Russell Pearce supporters decide to target more Hispanic Democratic/Independent voters in a last ditch attempt to siphon more Latino votes away from Jerry Lewis.   A robocall instructing Mesa voters to “protest” the Russell Pearce/Jerry Lewis Senate election has many Latinos claiming “voter deception”.  The robocall was blasted on ABC Phoenix News and this brought more attention to dirty election tricks by the Pearce supporters.  The LDS Community continued to pay close attention to this because Pearce is one of their own.

There is a clear and consistent common denominator throughout this Russell Pearce political mess:

  1. Pearce refuses to address the FIESTA BOWL financial contribution(s) scandal.
  2. Pearce supporters have proven themselves to be the type of people that enjoy stepping on Latinos with their constant disrespect of us.  It is no surprise particularly when Pearce is on record for welcoming Operation Wetback, and Hispanics are tired of being taken advantage of.

Perhaps all of this could have been avoided had Pearce not taken us back to a period that predates the Civil Rights era.  We told him to avoid ethnic slurs such as “Operation Wetback“, but he doesn’t think the term “Wetback” is demeaning.

We cannot wait until tomorrow’s results.

It’s been long and grueling for many of us who have worked in front of the scenes and behind the scenes.  We long for the days when Ronald Reagan and Tip O’Neill were both able to work across the aisle solving tough issues.

In fact, Reagan and O’Neil served as a model to break partisan gridlock.

We miss those days.  Unity is the American way.

Many of us want to put partisan politics aside and fix issues, but the only way we can do that effectively is by learning how to work with each other across the aisle.

The Arizona Republic gave a good explanation in a story today with regard to how the Russell Pearce Recall and Special Elections climate evolved into what it is today.  Take note because tomorrow will record an important day that will be marked down in our history books as we continue to defend that Shining City on a Hill for many of us who believe immigrants have made and will continue to make this nation great.

Then, in January, two groups launched efforts to force Pearce into a midterm recall election. One, Arizonans for Better Government, was allied with Somos Republicans, which represents Latino Republican interests.

Their reasons? Pearce’s “overt disdain for the United States Constitution” and “history of action on immigration issues.”

In time, that group allied itself with Citizens for a Better Arizona.

To force a recall, the organizers needed 7,756 valid petition signatures from registered voters in District 18. Few pundits gave them a chance; no Arizona lawmaker, and no Senate president anywhere in the country, had ever been recalled.

But throughout the winter and spring, Pearce’s political problems mounted.

- The Senate rejected five new immigration bills that he was pushing.

- An internal investigation revealed that Pearce received $39,347 worth of trips and game tickets from the Fiesta Bowl, which was enmeshed in a scandal over political contributions and financial misconduct. As of July, Pearce had repaid $1,417, but he said the trips were necessary to help promote Arizona’s football industry.   <snip>On Tuesday, it ends.

After all the court action, after all the bickering over campaign signs and all the accusations and insinuations, the voters in Mesa’s District 18 will have their quiet say at the ballot box.

SONORAN ALLIANCE: Republican website continues to bash women

Monday, November 7th, 2011

Shane Wikfors uses the SONORAN ALLIANCE to promote anti-immigrant Dixiecrat Republicans like JD Hayworth, Russell Pearce, Joe Arpaio, David Schweikert et al.

That said, Shane Wikfors has indeed lied about a former long life Republican (me) when he allowed his website to accuse me of being for open borders.

Little does Shane know that I am a Gulf War I Veteran who served honorably under George Bush Sr.  and I take issue with him and his Sonoran Alliance website when they accuse me of not being in support of appropriate national security.  I have always advocated for secure borders and legal immigration.

It is true that Shane Wifkors has allowed the SONORAN ALLIANCE to be a venue that has attacked Senator John McCain and now Jerry Lewis.  I have yet to find one pro-Jerry Lewis entry on his site because Shane has repeatedly promoted the Dixiecrat and Archie Bunker-wing Republicans in the State of Arizona.

Here is proof of how Shane has allowed his site to attack Jerry Lewis.

(Above) Shane Wikfors allows Sonoran Alliance to LIE about Republican and LDS Member Jerry Lewis

IT IS NOT TRUE FOR THE SONORAN ALLIANCE TO STATE JERRY LEWIS IS A PUPPET OF ANYONE!

Where is Shane Wifkor’s demand for Russell Pearce to answer the questions by the public with regard to the FIESTA BOWL financial contributions scandal?

Go to the Sonoran Alliance, you will see how Shane leaves the Russell Pearce/Fiesta Bowl scandal as a topic that does not get it’s appropriate scrubbing, yet he is quick to attack women.  Go figure.   No wonder the SONORAN ALLIANCE promotes Russell Pearce — Pearce has abused his wife and yet you don’t see Shane denouncing that in a public post, do you?

If one were to ask me my opinion…..I would have to say that it is easy for Shane to attack Latinas and females in general.  Maybe people who have lived in Arizona for a while are used to treating women like that since he has done nothing but bark out orders, make demands of me like I’m sort of door mat, and/or attack me for the past two years for trying to do Latino Republican outreach in the name of sensible immigration reform. Shane does not know how to say please when making demands of American-born women who have an understanding that men cannot treat women like their substandard property.

I hope Shane doesn’t treat his mother like he treats women, and if he doesn’t know already, I am now part of a female-led movement via the National Tequila Party Movement.   I’m confident that with all of his Tea Party extremism garbage he allows on his site that he really loathes Mexican-Americans being the true patriots, yet being proud of our cultural heritage, too.   All one has to do is look at the Sonoran Alliance to find out how pro-Russell Pearce is.  Pearce has not been shy about welcoming “Operation Wetback“.

That’s what this is about.

I will be sure to send Shane a Holiday Card for the free publicity he has given the National Tequila Party Movement — a female-led political movement.

Be educated: Don’t vote for Russell Pearce in Mesa, Arizona, Special elections

Monday, November 7th, 2011

The Russell Pearce Recall and special elections takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, November 8, 2011.  Vote Jerry Lewis — the Republican who can repair Arizona’s bad image that Pearce created.

To find out where to vote if you live in Legislative District 18, please visit the Maricopa County Elections Polling Place Locator linked below.

The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office presents the information on this web site as a service to the public. We have tried to ensure that the information contained in this electronic document is accurate.  recorder.maricopa.gov

Russell Pearce supporters are desperate! Here is their last ditch effort to take advantage of Latinos:

MESA, AZ – A robocall instructing Mesa voters to “protest” the Russell Pearce/Jerry Lewis Senate election has many Latinos claiming “voter deception”.

Days before the re-election vote for Arizona Senate President Pearce, Latino families living in Mesa’s 18th legislative district tell ABC15 prerecorded audio messages are calling their phones. A man with a Spanish accent says:

“Voters beware. If you plan to vote this Tuesday, you should know that both candidates for State Senator, Russell Pearce and Jerry Lewis, are Republicans. The only other candidate, Olivia Cortez was forced to withdraw last month. You can protest this one-sided election by writing in your own candidate.”

Critics say the message is targeting Latino voters to convince them not to vote for Jerry Lewis, since most would not vote for Pearce anyway.

The message rang to the phones of Gloria Chavez’s family. They say they’re strongly against Senate President Russell Pearce and his tough stance on immigration.

“Besides the fact that it’s infuriating and offensive, as an American myself, just because my last name is Chavez does not mean that I don’t know how to vote, or who to vote, or that I’m not informed,” Gloria Chavez said.

Chavez fears that if other Latino families listen to the call, it will take many votes away from Lewis and give Pearce an advantage.

“You’re purposefully trying to mislead voters, and that should be illegal,” Chavez said.

The man behind the robocall message is Ron Ludders. He is a member of the Tea Party and a committed supporter of Pearce according to Pearce’s own website.

Candidate Jerry Lewis gives a positive image to the Republican Party and to the LDS Community

Friday, November 4th, 2011

Jerry Lewis is slightly ahead of the polls against State Senator Russell Pearce.  I have met and spoken to Jerry Lewis and believe he gives a positive image to the Republican Party as well as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS). This is evident because Pearce would not entertain a FIRESIDE ON IMMIGRATION and ARIZONA COMPACT DISCUSSION (Arizona Compact is modeled after the Utah Compact) that would have helped rectify his position that contradicts the LDS Church and it would have helped to redeem himself.  He chose not to clarify the double-minded message he gives on the broken immigration system.

I received a note from a campaign helper of Jerry Lewis on what he needs to solidify a win in the upcoming November 8, 2011 Special Elections against Corrupt Russell Pearce.  Remember that Pearce has financial scandals with regard to the Fiesta Bowl contributions and he has not answered those questions the public wants to know.

From Jerry Lewis:

Friends,

Participating in our democracy is a great thing.  One of the simplest (and most important) ways we participate is by voting.  I’m sending this message to remind and encourage all my friends and supporters in Arizona Legislative District 18 to vote in this Tuesday’s upcoming recall election.

Many have asked what else they can do.  That response shows me not just the strength of our message, but how engaged and willing the citizens of Mesa are to participate in our democratic process.

So here are 3 things I’d like to encourage my friends and supporters to do between now and Tuesday:

1. Vote.  If you received your early ballot but didn’t mail it in, fill it in, and bring it to your local polling location on Tuesday.  If you didn’t sign up for early voting, please vote on Tuesday.  If you have questions about where your polling location please see this link.

https://voter.azsos.gov/VoterView/PollingPlaceSearch.do

2. Encourage your friends and neighbors in LD 18 to vote.  This election is important not just for the citizens of LD 18 and Mesa, but for the state of Arizona.  Use the next few days to educate and encourage your neighbors, family and friends to study the issues and vote. www.jerrylewisforsenate.com

3. Spread the word.  Social networks can be fantastic tools.  Reach out to your friends on FB by posting reminders to vote and encouraging them to study the issues, vote this Tuesday, and spread the word.

Here are some easy ways you can help this grassroots effort to elect fresh leadership in Mesa.

1. Repost this message on your FB page or send it as a message to your Mesa Area list.

2. Add your own message.

3. Encourage all your friends living in LD 18 to vote and all your friends in AZ and Mesa to spread the word.

Let us take our message viral and win on Tuesday.

Thank you,

Jerry Lewis
