Vote in Goodyear, Arizona, City Council Elections – Sharolyn Hohman explains how she’ll turn it around

Monday, February 18th, 2013

Exclusive Channel 5 interview with regard to Justice for Jared (teen killed in Goodyear, AZ).

We are hoping women and independent voters will vote for Sharolyn Hohman, a woman candidate who can help turn things around in Arizona for the better.  She has an amazing resume with small business and job creation.

The purpose for me writing this story has much to do with a grieving mother.  Many of my readers might recall a story I wrote here with regard to Shay Pendleton, an Arizona mother who continues to grieve over the unsolved mystery and the death of her son in Goodyear, Arizona.   This is an unsolved mystery with regard to the Goodyear Police Department, and you can hear Shay’s story here via the Lou Show. [In my personal view, both Wally Campbell and Joe Pazillo are two city council members that should NOT be re-elected into office since they have pretty much spit on this grieving mother.]

Thursday, February 14th, 2013

I enjoy writing about women I believe ought to be involved into politics.  On this Valentines Day, I want to tell you about Sharolyn Hohman who is running for Goodyear City Council.  I’m told early ballots were mailed this morning, and the citizens of Goodyear will want to know more about their options.

The purpose for me writing this story has much to do with a grieving mother.  Many of my readers might recall a story I wrote

That said, Shay and I went to an event recently hosted for Sharolyn Hohman at the Caballero Restaurant, and I must say I was impressed with Hohman’s political resume.   I believe she can turn it around in Goodyear City and has tremendous background and support from business owners.  She served as the President and CEO of the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce for 25 years.  She is a business professional with a BA from Grand Canyon University and a Masters from Northern Arizona University and has received numerous honors over the span of her career.  According to her mass mailer, she has hands-on, long-term involvement with the City of Goodyear and all of the West Valley.

Follow up to vigil and “Justice for Jared” and Unsolved Mystery Death in Goodyear, Arizona

Tuesday, January 29th, 2013

Many of my readers might recall a story I wrote here with regard to Shay Pendleton, an Arizona mother who continues to grieve over the unsolved mystery and the death of her son in Goodyear, Arizona.  The case has not been solved, and the issue didn’t even go through the Silent Witness program. This is an unsolved mystery with regard to the Goodyear Police Department.  You can hear Shay’s story here via the Lou Show.

Several supporters stood by this grieving mother’s side at last night’s vigil while the Goodyear City council was having a meeting at the Goodyear City Hall. Two notable individuals who stood beside the grieving mother were Terri Hall Woodmansee and John Rowan.

According to the Lou Show,

“This story ties in with John Rowan, who ran in the Democratic Primary for Maricopa County Sheriff Office last year. Rowan refused to cover up the Goodyear Police Department’s botched murder investigation. Rowan was deemed “unviable” as a candidate in the eyes of the county democratic party, and this assessment was incorrect. Unfortunately, this assessment was enough to sway democrats towards Paul Penzone when Rowan was the better, more qualified, candidate. So you see, the Goodyear Police Department, in relation to this case, has caused quite a bit of damage.”

More importantly, both Wally Campbell and Joe Pizillo are two city council members that should probably be elected OUT of office come February since it appears they have not been supportive to solving this unsolved mystery.

Channel 5 of Arizona has an exclusive interview with Terri Woodmansee and John Rowan — supporters of this grieving mother. We are thankful she received light and love from several other supporters, too.

You can see the KPHO interview by clicking below:

The goal to shedding light on this story has much to do with getting this unsolved mystery death solved, and we hope to see swift justice given to this grieving mother. We will keep an eye on the Goodyear City Council elections coming up this February.

Almost 5 Years Later, a Mother Continues to Grieve Her Son’s Death and Unsolved Mystery

Monday, January 21st, 2013

Jered Pendleton (unsolved mystery of his death in Goodyear remains unsolved).

Almost 5 years later, Shay Pendleton, an Arizona mother continues to grieve over the unsolved mystery and the death of her son in Goodyear, Arizona.  The case has not been solved, and the issue didn’t even go through the Silent Witness program. This is an unsolved mystery with regard to the Goodyear Police Department.  You can hear Shay’s story here via the Lou Show.

Scrolling through the photos of her son — Jered, it was difficult to try to pick one of him for this story because I have a teenage son, too.  It ails my heart to even think of losing one of my sons.  When you speak to Shay about her son who is no longer with us, you can see her pain when she speaks to you about it.  The pain you see and hear in her voice is smothering and suffocating.  It’s almost as if you want to look the other way because the pain is that unbearable to see in her heart and her eyes.   She’s a good-hearted woman doing the best that she can in the most difficult circumstances.

While going through the photos of Jered’s young life …. you will find he is your typical American boy playing in

A photo piece of art Jered Pendleton made for his mother. The back of what he made caused tears and heartache for his mom.

the beach sand, riding a bike, playing with puppies and enjoying himself at birthday parties. His bright smile lit up the sky.

To this day, when I speak to her … I sense a hole within her soul she yearns to be completed.  I wonder how long it will take for the Goodyear Police Department to help this grieving mother?

Please join Shay Pendleton at a vigil to remember her son this upcoming Monday, January 28, 2013.

Here are the details below:

Candlelight Vigil for Jered Pendleton

When: Monday, 28 January 2013
Time: 6 pm – 9 pm
Where: 175 N 145th Ave., Building E
Goodyear, AZ 85338

Why:  The Goodyear City council is having a meeting this night. Shay Pendleton needs support and a presence there to remember the unsolved mystery of her son, Jered Pendleton. The citizens of Goodyear, AZ, should also be informed with who is on the Goodyear City council in light of the upcoming City Council elections this February.

Most in the city council, including the Mayor, knew about what happened to Jered on April 6th of 2008 and not one of them chose to do the right thing by encouraging discipline towards the officers involved in his death and subsequent cover up. I am calling all journalists and TV crews to come cover this vigil.

On a side note:  Both Wally Campbell and Joe Pazillo are two city council members that should probably be elected OUT of office.

Please support this grieving mother!

Please bring a candle and light it and stand beside her.  Unfortunately, I will not be able to make the candle light vigil (since I will be out of the State), but I am asking my audience to show some love to this woman who has been put through hell and back.

I believe music has the ability to heal …  and this song below by Chris Taylor of San Antonio, Texas, struck a chord and made me think of this special grieving mother.

so send the rain, send the angels
move the mountain, we’re now strangers
send some healing, send some daylight
wish I could say it’s good to be alive
there’s no light in my head
there’s no light in my head
there’s no light in my head… now that you’re gone
