Tequila Party Movement Celebrates One Year Anniversary with Mike Stauffer for Maricopa County SheriffFriday, May 4th, 2012
Exciting news. I know Mike Stauffer will replace Joe Arpaio. I sense it.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
4 May 2012
The National Tequila Party Movement will be celebrating our one year anniversary on Cinco De Mayo (May 5, 2012) with Lt. Mike Stauffer — the sheriff candidate who is qualified and able to replace Joe Arpaio. This will be a celebratory working event as we submit our final petitions to the campaign since Mike Stauffer will be submitting over 29,500 nominating signatures to Maricopa County Elections on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 10AM.
Tequila Party supporters for Mike Stauffer consisted of Independents, Republicans and Democratic, and Libertarian circulators. Many of the supporters behind the first recall Russell Pearce effort (there were two recall groups total) will be supporting Mike Stauffer for sheriff.
Independents make up nearly a third of all registered voters in Arizona. As a result of extremism in the State of Arizona, our goal is to support moderates and reasonable candidates vying for leadership positions. According to Linda Chavez of Arizona Republic, Independent voters are the second largest party in our state. We believe Independents are the key swing vote in the upcoming 2012 elections.
In addition to key swing Independent voters, we will continue to team up with other female leaders in Maricopa County since we are aware of the influence women have on Arizona politics. As of the 2010 census, women make up 50.3 percent of Arizona’s population, according to census data. Women of voting age outnumbered voting-age men in Arizona.
For 19 years, we have had to endure the incompetent mismanagement of the Maricopa County sheriff’s office by an obsolete, behind the times caricature that calls himself “the toughest.” All this so-called toughness has brought us is rising crime rates, repeat offenders, thousands of unserved warrants, and worst of all–victims sexual abuse who were ignored, many of them children, who will never see justice.
It’s time for a new vision for law enforcement in Maricopa County and it’s time for, up-to-date, real world law enforcement leadership experience, It’s Time, Mike Stauffer for Sheriff.
