where the Mormon Temple is located and Mormons tend to be very organized and they did an effective job mobilizing for Mitt Romney here in our state.

I am aware of several Latino Republicans who switched their affiliation from being a Republican to now as an Independent voter(s).   That said Independent voters like myself were unable to vote in the primary elections.

I see a clear problem within the GOP where it appears the evangelicals are distrustful of Romney’s religious and political  views.  For instance, Hispanic evangelicals appear to be in support of Newt Gingrich, while Caucasian evangelicals and pro life leaders seems to be putting their support behind Rick Santorum.  Hispanic evangelicals have communicated to me that if Newt Gingrich does not win the Republican Nominee – they will vote for President Obama in 2012.   Similarly from the 2008 elections, we witnessed Republicans who were not so motivated to vote for Sen. John McCain when several GOP leaders stated they ‘would hold their noses and vote’ for him, however, this shows they were not really enthused. I see that sentiment today where Republicans are simply not enthused with the GOP choices being presented today.

GOP Presidential hopefuls are avoiding the large Latin immigrant elephant in the room.  They are not speaking the truth with regard to how immigration is directly tied into the economic issue.  For instance, under the George W. Bush administration, Republicans spoke positively with regard to the economic contributions immigrants gave to the American economy.  Today….we don’t see that because the immigration issue is being used as a political football by the Republican Party due our having a Democratic President.   Republicans fear a JFK part deux via Obama because they know how many loyal Latino Democratic voters exists today.

If the Democratic Party applies their 2008 Colorado blue print strategy in Arizona, Arizona could swing towards Obama during 2012.  Latino Get Out the Vote organizations like the National Tequila Party Movement will continue to motivate Latinos to be a voice via their vote for the voiceless undocumented.  We have spoken to DREAMers who would cut off their right arm to be able to vote.  Eligible Latin voters have a responsibility to vote and to vote for the candidate who supports the DREAM Act as well as the CIR efforts.  We are tired of lip service and the political football game.  We need to see action and Senate pro immigration support from all high Hispanic populated states or these senators and congressmen and women might lose their jobs particularly in the southwestern part of the United States.
