Arthur Brooks: If you care about the poor, you must support entitlement reform

There’s evidence, and then there’s supposition and rhetoric based on emotion without any data. The latter screams that anyone who calls for entitlement reform hates poor people and wants grandma to eat cat food. The former knows that when entitlement states collapse, the poor suffer the most.

Absent reform, ours will eventually collapse. So who hates the poor—those who want t prevent that, or those who simply demagogue the subject to increase their own power?

Obama and His Economic Policies Are Retarding Job Creation

As Congress moves toward the highly charged issues of raising the debt ceiling and passing a budget for the next fiscal year, the air will be filled with reminders of the headlong rush towards national bankruptcy.

Where Does Your Tax Dollar Go?

ICYMI, on Tax Day, Heritage provided a useful chart showing federal spending, by percent, laid out on an image of a dollar bill. As it happens, we at Western Free Press did the same thing last year. Below are the two charts. Notice how entitlement spending is going up (this time, Social Security)? Note that eventually, entitlement spending will crowd out all other spending, consuming all revenue.
