<p>Among the characteristics of the right are these:</p>

A preference for individuals and the civil society over the state
A belief in the primacy of natural rights, and the duty of the government not to infringe upon them
A reverence for tradition and natural law, and a preference for those over statist innovation and revolution for its own sake
Federalism/subsidiarity
