Monday, May 13th, 2013

David Brooks, the in-house “conservative” at the New York Times, nailed it on a Sunday talk show when he said it’s a hyper political view of everything that’s the real scandal of the Obama administration.

“Second terms are generally hit with scandals,” Brooke said on Meet the Press. “In the Obama administration, you’re not going to have a monetary scandal. These people are not financially corrupt. You’re not going to have a sexual scandal. But they are very politica...

Republicans are doing more with less to fix the budget

Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

By Rep. John A. Boehner

Monday night, hardworking moms and dads will gather around their kitchen tables, parsing the bills one by one to budget for gas, groceries, mortgage payments, a school trip, a child’s birthday party. Small-business owners do the same every day — poring over their books to find ways to cut costs without cutting jobs. The government reported Friday that the economy grew by 2.5 percent in the first quarter, up from a dismal 0.4 percent at the end of last year. Yet a look at the details of the report shows a still fragile economy without much hope of progress for the rest of the year.

65 Days Late, Way More Than A Dollar Short

Arlington, Va. – The White House today released its budget for fiscal year 2014. This budget proposal, arriving 65 days late, includes $3.77 trillion of total spending, increases taxes by $580 billion by ending tax deductions and closing loopholes and would leave the nation with a $744 billion budget deficit in 2014. Despite a $230 billion cut in entitlement spending, the administration’s budget still fails to balance.
