Pasture Dinner – Double Check Ranch – March 16
Everyone’s favorite local grass-fed beef rancher is hosting a farm to table dinner in the pasture at the Double Check Ranch in Winkleman, Ariz. And if you’re coming from Tucson or Phoenix and don’t feel like driving there (north of Oracle) – transportation is available.

This is a one-of-a-kind dinner and you’re not going to get any more local than this.

Arizona Chef John Hall of the famous “Bianco Group” will be there for an evening of local food and wine, great friends and engaging conversation. Watch the Arizona sun setting over the lush pasture as you sit together and break bread at a community table, listen to live music and kindle (or re-kindle!) relationships with friends as well as local food and wine purveyors.

17th Street Marketing Closing
You may have heard that 17th Street Market is closing. When I posted it on Facebook a few weeks ago, everyone felt sad but when asked nobody had been there for quite awhile. Hello? You need to support places, shop and eat there if you want stores and restaurants to remain open.

Right now the Market is have a 50% off sale on dry goods. I went today and the selection is sparse. You can get some packaged spices, juices, odd cookies, salsas, prickly pear products, canned fish, honey, general groceries, unusual Red Mill flours, chips, many Goya products.  I was hoping for Chinese tea but only herbal tea remained. CDs are on sale but I didn’t walk in that direction. I believe some of the musical instruments were on sale. 98% of the Asian products are gone.
