Download coupons directly to Safeway Club Card
Using coupons to grocery shop just got easier or so, at least, at Safeway.
By using Safeway’s couponlink program, customers can download online coupons through their computer or mobile coupons through their mobile devices in order to add the coupons directly to their Safeway Club Card. The program initially launched in Texas but now encompasses all markets including Tucson.
To find money-saving deals, customers log on to the couponslink page to browse coupons on Shortcuts.com, P&G eSaver, or CellFire.
Coupons can be organized by category or product name, downloaded to the Safeway Club Card and automatically redeemed at checkout. CellFire and Shortcuts.com have the added capability of allowing shoppers to browse and download via mobile phone or smart phone, even while the customer is in the store…now that’s high tech convenience.
This is a cool feature for people who don’t want to carry around a bunch of coupons or who find themselves at a Safeway while the coupons are at home. If coupons are downloaded directly to your mobile phone, that’s a plus for the environment.
But what will the newspapers do when all vendors go this way of convenience?
Newspapers rely on coupons as a way to advertise and bulk up their Sunday papers. Then again not everyone has a computer or a mobile phone but certainly the appeal is there to many and more so in the future.
