MORE ABOUT THE CHEF

Hello and welcome to my food blog!  I hope that you will find my postings to be helpful to you & you enjoy my recipes!  Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

My passion for food started at a very young age, my father owned a grocery store in a small town in Minnesota.  I have fond memories helping him dip glazed donuts, stock the produce, even cut meat (of course with a plastic knife as I was only 5)  I knew my cuts of meats and types of fruits and vegetables along with my ABC’s and 123′s by the time I started Kindergarten!  I started wearing an apron so young that they had to wrap it 3 times around my waist!  Wish I could say the same now :)   I have always loved to experiment with new foods and ideas.

When I’m not in the kitchen making or baking something, you can find me watching the Food Network, reading my latest issue of bon appetit or surfing the web for a new “gadget”.

After years of searching for a career, I came to the realization to do what I enjoyed the most and knew the best…..FOOD…so I took classes at the Culinary Business Academy, joined the United States Personal Chef Association and used my prior food experience and started my own business as a Personal Chef!  So here I am in sunny Arizona, a licensed personal chef, having the time of my life!

My typical day revolves around cooking for my personal chef clients and planning about the next meal I am going to prepare for my dinner.  My evenings include reading cookbooks like novels,  researching and testing recipes & watching the Food Network.   With there being only so much food we can consume, I opened Kuisine by Kathy to spread my feeding frenzy to other families. I plan, shop, and prepare meals for those who don’t have time to shop and cook, are looking for an alternative to take out and dining at restaurants, have special diet needs or just don’t like to cook.

I decided to do a “blog” because I was constantly looking at other food blogs and admiring how organized they were.  I took a look at my recipe drawer, my sticky notes on my desk and my massive amounts of cookbooks with scraps of paper marking a certain page.  I thought this would be a great way to organize myself and also to share my knowledge of food with others!  Also it is fun if you are a “foodie’ to try out new recipes that you know will work :)
