Chocolate and Puff Pastry…You can’t go wrong!

Friday, February 10th, 2012

Saturday morning for me is a morning to splurge; a morning where I don’t have to eat my bran flakes, fat free milk and a 1/2 of a banana!

I remember eating this as a kid…it was pretty good!  I think this will be our Saturday morning treat!

The recipe is easy and it doesn’t have a name.

Take a roll of the Pepperidge Farm frozen puff pastry and let thaw.  Brush with some cream; top with some good chopped dark or semi sweet chocolate.  Roll up into a log, slice in 1/4 inch slices, place on a parchment paper lined sheet pan and bake at 375 D. for 20 minutes.  Serve warm with a cup of coffee!

Cheers!

Baby it’s COLD outside…Here are a couple of “adult” cocktails that will warm you right up!

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

I wasn’t thinking that I was going to post recipes like this living in southern Arizona!  The last couple of weeks have been cold!  I would expect being cold in Minnesota; but I just got in from outside and and going to make a run to the liquor store to have some ingredients on hand to make a couple fun “adult” cocktails for the weekend.

These are really fun to make and pretty to serve to guests!  But remember to drink responsibly!

HOT PEPPERMINT PATTY:

Grab your favorite mug and add 1 oz. of Peppermint Schnapps and a 1/2 oz. of Dark Creme de Cacao and 1 tsp. of white creame de menthe.  Fill the rest of the mug with your favorite hot chocolate.  Top it off with a dollop of whipped cream and some chocolate shavings.

MIDNIGHT SNOWSTORM:

Once again, grab your favorite mug and add 2 oz. white creame de menthe then fill with hot chocolate.  Top with whipped cream and carefully drizzle Green creame de menthe across the whipped cream.
