Sad too, just like war, that so many were left wounded, deeply hurt and in some cases poorer, due to a loss of their job, because of the former chancellor’s abuse of power.
The writer of this blog is to be strongly commended, appreciated and seen as a hero for her courageous willingness and ability to tell her story. That courage helped bring to light the former chancellor’s serial harassment of PCC female employees.
Courage that lead the former chancellor to resign and get out of Arizona.
Courage that meant no more women at PCC would be abused by Flores.
Thank you, Jacquelyn Jackson. And I agree: It is not fair that so many were hurt by Flores’ war, while those upper level administrators who knew got two year contracts and the responsible board members remain on the board.
Perhaps a Truth and Reconciliation Process is called for at PCC.

PCC does need to make efforts towards making Flores’ victims whole again.
Board members and upper level administrators who hid, ignored, enabled and tolerated Flores’ abuse of power should all be asked to resign. Their failures to protect the College and its workforce from sexual harassment by the former chancellor is unforgivable.

I agree. If Lee Lambert is to become PCC’s next chancellor he must ask for resignations as his starting point.

No amount of “training” can forgive the two board members, Stewart and Even, who received tips regarding Flores’ sexual harassment of college employees, hid that information and made not a single attempt to investigate.

Tips of sexual harassment must be investigated just as surely as are tips of a bomb threat.

Board members have a responsibility to ensure a safe workplace and a safe workforce. At least these two board members failed at doing this.

No one should endure what the author of this article did. No one!

But the question I have is: Why hasn’t the current interim chancellor already asked for these resignations?

Gabby loved her job and Kelly ran an especially nasty campaign against her last time. It would obviously be a big disappointment for her to see Jesse Kelly take over her legacy. Barber isn’t ‘trotting’ out anyone, Giffords and her husband made the decision to do this themselves. Featuring Gabby in his own campaign ads would have been ‘trotting her out’, and he declined to do so.

She was living & working back east when she answered her father’s call to come back and run the business he was no longer able to run due to his health. Gabby dropped everything and came home to help her family. After successfully running the business for several years they took advantage of an opportunity to sell it for a profit to a large chain. Mark Kelly was already divorced for several years before Gabby first met him. As a politician she so inspired others that a 9 year girl came to meet her at Gabby’s Congress on your Corner.

There’s a saying that when you don’t know anything about something it’s better to keep you mouth shut and let others think you might be a fool, instead of opening your mouth and removing all doubt.

Ugh, ugh, Giffords is not the sort of person I would hold up as a model.
