In the late afternoon heat, old men with walking sticks, a young couple with a new born, people from all walks of life and all ages slowly fill the Copper Room at the Hotel Congress in downtown Tucson. One couldn’t help feel the camaraderie in the room; it was as if every one was your friend drawn together by the energy of one great man.

It was a celebration of the life of Hugh Holub, A wonderful human being, father, husband, writer, mentor, and a true friend of humanity. As individuals came up to speak, Hugh’s footprint on this earth grew larger and larger. It became evident that he was a true renaissance man in every step he took.

The guest of honor was there in spirit and energy.

Rest In Peace Hugh Holub, Thank you for your presence in all of our lives.

We surely  will miss you Amigo.

Well written Karl. Thanks for posting it. I could not make the service but I am glad the Congress folks had it there for the family. Glad RH posting is gone. Hard act to follow.
    Hugh will be missed.

I got a chance to meet some of Hugh’s family and see the slideshow of his family pictures.  From what I heard last night, Hugh lived a very full life.  I was impressed by the stories of everything he accomplished and all the people he touched.

Thanks to you all for posting. Although we were close in age I considered Hugh a mentor.  He had a unique ability to listen, understand and appreciate both sides of a discussion.

I guess this answers my question.

On a memorial post, of all places, you chose to be…well, you.  How very low rent of you.
