Hello again from Belgium. My age (I am 54) allows me to judge about the 'past' to a certain level. Space travel is something I read about for some decades, and I noticed the strange mix of picture and capture right away. Now even both astronauts have the honour to appear in your text. I am sure that you can find a group picture of the crew, to include Neil Armstrong (only suggesting).
I feel embarrassed myself now, but can I suggest you one more thing, so that your internet text is 100 % correct and reader proof ? The rocket arriving at the launch platform (last picture above) is not exactly Apollo, I guess this was the name of the mission to the moon. As far as I can judge, the rocket before launch is called Saturn V. (I am a middle school teacher, so I am trained to watch for details).
Maybe you wonder why I reply all the way from Belgium. Well, a dear friend is studying at the UA in Tucson, so I check Arizona (newspaper) websites regularly. I was in Phoenix some years ago for a holiday, and I could imagine to live and work there. Let this be a dream for a next life. By the way, I let you decide about publishing this reply, since for me it's not necessary.
Greetings from Walter in Belgium (close to your London).

Dear Walterk: You are absolutely correct, of course, and how very embarrassing for me : ) I do greatly appreciate you pointing out my error. My only excuse is really that I was searching through the NASA archives under "Michael Collins" and this photo of Buzz was one of the first that came up (?). I remember thinking, "That doesn't really look like Mike, but it's a great photo." Anyway, I found a REAL photo of Mike and corrected the captions. I appreciate you being my proofreader, and thank you for reading all the way from Belgium. I grew up in London, so we were almost neighbors : ) Cheers -- LL

Certainly, Apollo 11 was one of mankind's greatest achievments and a bright spot in some very difficult times.

I want to inform you that the man on the second picture with the text 'Remembering Apollo 11' is not Michael Collins, but Buzz Aldrin, the second man on the moon in the Apollo 11 mission. It's true that Michael Collins remained in a moon orbit during the visit of the two other astronauts to the moon surface, but he is not the one on the picture. Great achievement though, I was 14 then and I remember it well. Greetings from Belgium (Europe).

LL, I have wondered the same thing about the possibilities we have missed waging war instead of exploration. When put to the task, I believe mankind can do wonderous things. Shame we waste so much of our time figuring out better and faster ways to kill each other. As always, interesting post.
