People all over the Pueblo are stoked to see the moon pass in front of the sun, which has led to several viewing events. Some, like the big show over at Kitt Peak Observatory require advance reservations, but have no fear — your last-minute-guru is here!

The Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association is holding a super cool event at Flandrau Science Center.

They’ll have expert astronomers and a solar telescope on hand to help you get the best view; awesome science demonstrations; and… wait for it… an 8pm viewing of Flandrau’s legendary laser show, set to “Dark Side of the Moon.”

All this for the low, low price of a pair of solar viewing glasses — less than $4 each.

The eclipse party has already started over at Sky Bar! They’ll have viewing through the patio telescope, and happy hour prices all day and night. Plus, eclipse-viewing glasses are free — beer goggles, though, will still cost you.

Mount Lemmon Sky Center is going the extra mile — or should I say light year? — to get us Tucsonans a good look. You don’t need no stinkin’ tickets to this show. Just logon to NightSkiesNetwork.com at 4:30pm for a front-row seat.

A food truck roundup on the corner of 6th St/7th Ave will feature amateur astronomers willing to share their telescopes, eclipse viewing filters, and a make-it-yourself pinhole camera event for the kids.
