As far as sport executives go, Larry Scott went from an unknown to a household name in just under a year that nearly changed the landscape of college athletics forever. Today, the Pac-10, soon to be Pac-12 commissioner is on RadioExiles.com as part of the “Victor and Matt” weekly podcast show. He talks about the dominating story line from this Spring– conference expansion, why a 16-team league didn’t work this time around and the Pac-10′s current relationship with Texas.

Pac-10's Larry Scott

Most of the moves were being made to align conferences with schools that had successful football programs to increase TV revenue. Larry Scott commented on the Pac-10′s upcoming TV contract negotiations, how the added teams (Colorado & Utah) will help the new deal and what schools will make in this future agreement.

Scott also talked about the current BCS format and the positives from the system. Plus, how USC’s football sanctions could potentially hurt the conference over the next couple of years. Also on the lines of USC, new AD Pat Haden made some news last week saying he would not rule out new ideas, such as going independent with sports like football, which the Pac-10′s commissioner commented on as well.
