I know many people who are enrolled in Medicare Part D and don't bother to checkout the changes to the plans or premiums each year. They become content. However, every year there are changes in co-payments and premiums and of course tier levels. Seems that most of the Insurance companies are pushing the generics. For 2012 First Health has a great plan if you use mainly generic drugs - $25.60 premium and no deductible or co-payment for generics. I am switching my husband over to this Part D plan from the AARP plan. The sad part about this is that I am fully prepared for a major increase in 2013 for the same plan and I will switch again. That's what you have to do with these insurance companies. They have no loyalty to the Medicare beneficiary, so the beneficiary should have no loyalty to the insurance companies. If more seniors would "shop" we might find the insurance companies halting their practice of changing tiers for the drugs to get more money.
