I am an independent insurance broker working mainly with Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage, and Part D drug plans.  I started out working for an insurance company that is a major player in the Medicare market, but I quickly realized I did not like sales and would rather present people with a variety of choices and let them make an informed decision. So I went independent, representing all of the Medicare Advantage plans in Tucson as well as several Medicare Supplement companies and Part D plans.

I have been working with Medicare-related insurance for six years and have learned a lot about the good, the bad and the ugly of this business.  I also work with individual health insurance – and this experience has made me appreciate Medicare and what a great program it is – even if it is not perfect. It is wonderful to be able to say to people, “What type of coverage do you want?” rather than, “Sorry, you have health issues, so you can’t get insurance.”

I have been writing the Medicare and More blog for over two years, and I have discovered that there is always something new to learn about Medicare. It is a rather complex topic, but I enjoy the search for a more complete understanding of how the system works. My blogging and my search for knowledge has helped me provide a higher level of service to my clients.
