Freeway lane closures around Phoenix area

Heading to Phoenix this weekend? Watch out for driving restrictions around the Valley of the Sun.

Westbound U.S. 60 – the Superstition Freeway – will be reduced to two lanes between Crismon Road and the Loop 202 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday for lane striping work. Westbound U.S. 60 will narrow to three lanes between Crismon and the Loop 202 interchange from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday for striping work.

The westbound U.S. 60 ramp to southbound Loop 202 will be closed Saturday night.

The westbound U.S. 60 on-ramp at Crismon Road, and on and offramps at Ellsworth Road, will also be closed Saturday night.

Higley Road will be restricted to one lane in each direction between Hampton and Inverness avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge widening work.

Eastbound U.S. 60 offramp and westbound on-ramp at Higley will also be closed. Greenfield Road should be used as an alternate north-south route in the area. Loop 101 will be restricted to two lanes in each direction at Thomas Road from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for electronic equipment work.

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.
