Stoops treated for kidney stones, will coach Saturday
by Citizen Staff Report on Sep. 29, 2007, under SportsMike Stoops went to the hospital Friday to be treated for kidney stones, but the University of Arizona football coach is expected to be on the sideline Saturday against Washington State.
Stoops, 45, was taken to University Medical Center on Friday morning for abdominal pains. But he was back home resting by the afternoon and is on medication, UA sports information director Tom Duddleston said.
Stoops will coach Arizona on Saturday, according to athletic director Jim Livengood. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Livengood said Stoops would see doctors Monday for further evaluation.
