Cancer walk fundraiser set for Tucson Mall
by Heidi Rowley on Oct. 27, 2007, under LocalThe American Cancer Society is having a three-mile fundraising walk Sunday to raise money to fight breast cancer.
This is the fifth annual American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser, taking place at Tucson Mall, 4500 N. Oracle Road.
There is no minimum registration fee, but all walkers are asked to make a donation. Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the walk starting at 8 a.m. behind the American Home Furnishings and Dillard’s parking lot.
In addition, stylists will also be on hand to cut the hair of people who are willing to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, which makes wigs for cancer patients. Survivors will be given pink survivor sashes and walkers can write messages on pink ribbons in honor or memory of a loved one.
