Tucson police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing woman whose car was found abandoned on Mount Lemmon.
Elnora Charles, 62, who lives on North Country Club Road, was last seen by her son Thursday as she drove north on North First Avenue near East Fort Lowell, said Dallas Wilson, a police spokesman. He said Monday police do not know if she was on her way to the mountain.
Wilson said detectives are concerned for the woman’s well being, but he knew of no specific information that would lead detectives to suspect foul play.
The woman needs medication, Wilson said, but he did not know if she had it with her when she disappeared. He would not say what kind of medication she takes.
Her car, a cream- or ivory-colored 1980 Chevrolet Caprice, was found Saturday, Wilson said.
She was last seen wearing a black dress with red flowered print, Wilson said.
She is described as black, 5 feet 1 inches tall, 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
