Chris
Chris:The Hermitage Cat Shelter
Chris is a handsome 7 1/2 -year-old who came to the shelter several years ago, shy and somewhat neglected. He has blossomed into a quiet, friendly guy who is used to other cats and would be happy in a home with another a cat companion. Chris can be adopted for a special fee of $25. To see if he’s the right one to make your forever pet, meet Chris from 1-4 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at The Hermitage Cat Shelter, 5278 E. 21st St. For more information, call 571-7839 or visit hermitagecat shelter.org.
Malie: Humane Society of Southern Arizona
Sweet little Malie is a lost soul with a broken heart who’s in need of a special person to give her a retirement home where she’ll be safe and loved.
A small, 12-year-old terrier mix, Malie was brought to the shelter by an acquaintance of her former owner when the owner threatened to “dump her in the desert” because of her age and cataracts that were causing her to lose her vision.
When Malie arrived at HSSA, she was given a thorough exam and blood work to determine the state of her health. Although she can’t see as well as she once did and she doesn’t move as fast as when she was a pup, she was found to be quite healthy for a dog of her age. She’s been staying with a foster caregiver who’s found that Malie thrives on attention and companionship and really enjoys being a lap dog. She’s gotten along well with other dogs and is quite an easygoing girl, one who really deserves another chance at living out her senior years in comfort.
If you’d like to give this little charmer a loving retirement home, stop by the Humane Society’s Adoption Center, 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd., and be sure to ask about Malie. Shelter hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. For more information call 327-6088 or visit hssaz.org.
Cameron: Arizona Greyhound Rescue
Cameron is a 4-year-old greyhound who is cat tolerant and looking forward to a life filled with soft beds, squeaky toys and a meaningful relationship with her adopters. To learn more, visit azgreyhoundrescue.org or call 886-7411.
Casa de los Gatos: Citrus
Citrus is a petite 1-year-old female with a lot of personality. She was rescued with her kitten, the precious and playful, Chai, so they make the cutest little pair. Citrus hopes to find a forever family with enough love for both of them because they are so bonded together. She is used to dogs and gets along well with children. For more information on these two or the many other cats and kittens with Casa de los Gato, call 881-0900 or visit CasaDeLosGatos.org.
