Woman taken into custody after threatening deputies with meat cleavers
by Sheryl Kornman on Mar. 15, 2008, under Local, SpecialPima County Sheriff deputies took a Tucson woman into custody Saturday night after she threatened them with a meat cleaver in each hand.
Victoria Amanda Watson, 24, had five to six knives on her body when deputies came to her apartment in the 2200 block of West Orange Grove Road, said Sgt. James Ogden.
Ogden said deputies fired one shot in self defense, but did not hit Watson. They subdued her using a Taser.
Deputies went to the address after her father called authorities asking them to check on her, saying she had mental problems and was using narcotics.
