SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Police were investigating on Monday the apparent homicide of an aspiring model and actress from Tucson who was found dead in her apartment.
Juliana Redding, 21, was found Sunday evening after her mother called police to report that she hadn’t been able to reach her daughter by telephone, Lt. Alex Padilla said.
A Salpointe graduate, she is the daughter of Greg and Maureen Redding and granddaughter of Victor and Patty Arida.
It wasn’t clear how long Redding had been dead, but police believed she died “as a result of an assault,” Padilla said.
An autopsy was scheduled Tuesday to determine the cause of death, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said.
“Right now we are trying … to get more information and learn the people she associated with so we can continue to conduct this investigation,” Padilla said.
A neighbor told KABC-TV that Redding moved to her apartment on a residential street late last year and lived alone with a pet dog.
“She was a really lovely girl,” Sury Nunez said.
After moving to the area, Redding appeared in a small comedy called “Kathy T Gives Good Hoover” where she met her ex-boyfriend, Greg Cipes, an actor who has appeared in various primetime TV shows.
