A memorial billboard for Tucson police Officer Erik Hite will be put up Thursday morning.

“We wanted to recognize his service to Tucson and to the nation with this billboard,” said Jennifer Kneup, from Clear Channel Outdoor.

The billboard will be up for four weeks at South Kolb Road and East Golf Links Road. Then it will rotate throughout the city for a year, Kneup said.

Hite died June 2 after being shot the previous day during a cross-town chase. David Nickolas Delich, 25, is charged with first-degree murder in the case.
