Leal to talk on ideas for halt to unfair mortgages
by A.J. Flick on Jul. 09, 2008, under Family, Local, SpecialTucson City Councilman Steve Leal will introduce a proposal Wednesday to create laws to prevent unfair lending practices.
Leal will discuss his ideas at the 6:30 p.m. meeting of the Tucson Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now’s “Foreclosure Fighter.” The session will be at American Legion Saguaro Post 68, 4724 S. 12th Ave., north of Irvington Road on the west side of the street.
ACORN officials also will discuss how the program can help families facing foreclosure or families who might face foreclosure because of expected rising interest rates.
