Itchy – Humane Society

Itchy is a young, black and tan retriever mix who was in terrible shape when she was brought to the shelter in February. Although she was just a year old, this neglected stray suffered from a multitude of problems, including mange, tick fever and a tumor. But her sweet disposition and will to live shone through, and she quickly made friends at the HSSA shelter and clinic, where she took up residence for several months during treatment for her illnesses.

It was quickly discovered that in addition to her willingness to accept her daily health care, Itchy is a very agreeable girl who gets along well with just about everyone (including dogs, kids and cats). Now that her treatments have been successful, she’s waiting for someone to take her home, give her a nice name to replace the one that no longer suits her, and lavish attention upon her.

Visit Itchy and many other secondhand pets at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona’s Adoption Center, 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily. For more information call 327-6088 or visit www.hssaz.org.
