What’s open, closed on Columbus Day

Public services on the Columbus Day holiday Monday:

Garbage pickup

• City garbage and recycling collection will not be affected by the holiday. For more information, call Environmental Services, 791-3171.

• The city’s Los Reales landfill will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m..

• Waste Management garbage collection will not change because of the holiday.

• County, state and federal offices will be closed Monday but city offices will remain open.

• All Tucson-Pima Public Library System branches will be closed Monday.

The Oro Valley Pubic Library will be open.

• All U.S. Postal Service centers will be closed and no deliveries made Monday.

• State Motor Vehicle Division offices are closed.

• Some banks are closed – call before going.

• Sun Tran buses will run on regular weekday schedules Monday.

Schools

• K-12 public schools are open Monday.

• Classes will be held Monday at the University of Arizona and at Pima Community College.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.
