FLAGSTAFF — The roofs of two Flagstaff businesses have collapsed under the weight of accumulated snow and city officials are ordering others to either remove the snow or remain closed.

Businesses with flat roofs are being required to remove the wet, heavy snow before they reopen. The order came late Thursday after the roof of a bookstore and an outlet store caved in.

Deputy Fire Chief Jim Wheeler says crews are assessing each building and could order immediate evacuations until the snow is removed.
