Porn site capitalizing on Super Bowl clip
by Sheryl Kornman on Feb. 07, 2009, under Local, Special2 adult sites offer subscription discounts; Comcast, a $10 credit
The porn site whose content interrupted Comcast’s broadcast of the Super Bowl for 30 seconds is using its 15 minutes of notoriety as a marketing tool to lure new subscribers.
Pink Visual is offering new subscribers a $10 discount on subscriptions to its mobile and “mega pass” adult sites, which feature explicit sex.
Gay or straight porn can be ordered from the site.
The promo code “pornbowl” completes the discount deal at www.PinkVisual.com, according to Kim Kysar, the site’s brand and product manager.
Her memo online said Pink Visual is offering “compensation for (the) Super Bowl porn mishap” because “we feel really bad for the customers who were just getting into in when Comcast rudely switched back to the football game before the clip could really get going.”
The company is offering $10 off subscriptions to www.PinkVisualPass.com and www.MaleSpectrumPass.com.
Comcast is offering $10 credits to customers whose service was interrupted by the clip during the Super Bowl.
To request a credit, call 888-315-8219.
Comcast is trying to determine who dropped the porn content into its feed of the football game.
