Programs special for National Park Week

Saguaro National Park will celebrate National Park Week with special programs from Sunday through April 28. Both the Saguaro East and Saguaro West districts of the park will hold events that include trivia games about parks, slide shows, garden strolls, night walks and desert hikes, a news release said.

National Park Week is an annual, presidentially proclaimed week for the celebration and recognition of national parks.

National parks were created in 1872 by President Grant, and since then, 391 parks have been established around the country.




Saguaro West events

• National Parks Trivia Game: 10:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and again on Friday and April 28.

• “Desert Treasures: The National Parks of Arizona,” 10:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Thursday
