SAGCC President Rick Small asks, “Tucsonans, how do you feel about plastic bag useage?”
To assist the city’s plastic bag working group in their deliberations and their recommendations about reducing the number of plastic bags in the community, a survey has been created to gauge community attitudes toward a ban on or restriction of single use plastic bags. Share your thoughts at plastic bag survey.

Solar Across Tucson
Small reports that the City of Tucson Solar Coordinator, Bruce Plenk, provided updated figures at the All Energy Lunch, about the number of commercial solar installations — many of them on city buildings — and urged attendees to visit www.SolarOneStopAZ.org to locate the many commercial sites across the community.

Monthly SAGCC Breakfast
Leslie Ethen from the City of Tucson Office of Conservation and Sustainable Development (OCSD) is the featured speaker at the monthly Green Chamber Breakfast, August 22, 7:30 – 9 a.m. at the Viscount Hotel Suites, 4855 E. Broadway.

While the breakfast is a buffet — don’t miss the made-to-order omelet and waffle chef — advance registration is urged to assist planning for set-up.  Breakfasts are $15 for SAGCC members and $20 for non-members.  Register online at www.sagcc.org (go to calendar) or by emailing info@sagcc.org.
