BILL HR3596 PROTECTS AMERICAN TAXPAYER DOLLARS AND OUR IDENTITIES
Wednesday, May 30th, 2012ABOUT HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES BILL HR3596:
Representatives Tim Bishop D-NY and Mike Fitzpatrick R-PA are co-sponsors of House of Representatives Bill (HR 3596) “U.S. Call Center and Consumer Protection Act.” This bipartisan legislation would bar American companies that outsource call center jobs from receiving federal grants and loans.
Why should large corporations receive U.S. taxpayer dollars to relocate their call centers out of the country, taking away U.S. jobs, solely to boost their profits? When is enough enough?
The bill has gained 106 cosponsors and continues to gain impetus in the House as identity theft and sale of customers’ personal information by call center employees in other countries is increasing.
Foreign call centers are not subject to the same U.S. laws that protect American consumers’ sensitive data. Write or call your Congressman today and ask if he has signed the bill; if not, ask him to support HR3596.
