San Francisco mayor George Moscone and openly gay Supervisor Harvey Milk, were shot and killed in San Francisco City Hall by former Supervisor Dan White on November 27, 1978.

Indeed that was a dark day in S.F. history when Mayor Moscone and Supervisor Milk were shot and killed by Dan White. The recent 2008 movie “Milk” (starring Sean Penn) portrayed that hatred very well.

It’s amazing to me how little progress the US has made in 30 years compared to the rest of the Western world.

Of course the same lack of progress is apparent in every sphere of our civic lives and is undoubtedly due to the US privileging religion as much as it does.

I don’t think we will be able to make much progress – not only on anti-gay bigotry but also on many other issues like women’s rights or healthcare or war – until we can honestly acknowledge the root causes of our national dysfunction.

I would like to see the nation get behind the “Glenn Beck Challenge” Agents from every state in the nation would pressure Glenn the’ Gorger’ Beck to take the MMPI.; Minnesota Multi-Phasic Personality Inventory.
It screens for mental illness. BTW, I think all the elected in the Congress and the Senate should do likewise.
So if he refuses to submit to this test, then it would be the same wacko syllogism that the Birthers use… therefore he is insane!
