Lefty, the voting history on these issues speaks for itself in the many states that have put it on the ballot(And over the vocal objections of gay groups who realize they can seldom win in a voting booth.), many passing by margins of sixty to seventy percent. It seems you would choose marginalize a whole lot of voters who are smart enough to recognize sexual deviancy when they see it. But that’s the communist way, isn’t it? Shout down the opposition when you know you can’t win using the democratic process. Hafta wonder why it is you find homosexual issues so much to your liking and that you are such a vocal advocate for the group. Are you, yourself a dedicated closet practitioner?

Unfortunately for you and your ilk, Ado, the public does not get to decide whom to deny or grant rights to by referendum. Otherwise, we’d still have kids going to segregated schools. No, my friend, with the right people on the SCOTUS, we will see equal rights established for your LGBT brothers and sisters.

Sorry Tipo, but the reasons are even more basic than that. Most folks know, and it shows plainly whenever these issues end up on the ballot, that an overwhelming majority of the population do not regard two sexual deviates who choose to live with each other to be a * family *. If one of them wants to cash in on the superior benefits the other may enjoy, there is no constitutional right to do so. By way of example take Michigan, it is a blue state, has a blue state voting history, and yet voted over 60% in favor of changing the state’s constitution to clearly define what constitutes “marriage”. In that example it was a man and a woman, and no other combination. The realization that sexual deviancy simply is not the equivalent of a marriage between a man and a woman should be self-evident to most, but apparently it is not to the extreme leftists and the homosexuals in the crowd. Hence the need for sane people to make constitutional amendments.

Lamda Legal is a great organization and I wish them the best, but I think they have very little chance of succeeding with this suit.
Arizona-bama encourages discrimination against gays, we even put it in our State Constitution – so they are suing under Federal law.
But even under Federal law we haven’t been able to pass ENDA yet.
Perhaps they are hoping that ENDA will pass before trial – but as things stand gay Arizonans don’t stand a chance of fair treatment under our laws.
I recommend to anyone considering jobs at UA to look at less rightwing States – it would be nice if we had a little more support from “straight allies” but they are missing in action, as usual.

Sounds like a few radical LIBs in the Democratic party want to get into a pissin’ match with the GOP. As usual they will end up covering themselves in their own urine. Undoubtedly there will some who enjoy that.
