Welcome to Paranormal Old Pueblo
by Cherlyn Gardner Strong on Aug. 26, 2009, under LifeOne of my favorite movie quotes has to be: “Tucson is the weird capital of the world.” These words were uttered by a young Jodi Foster in the 1974 film, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. While this film is not about the paranormal, it was filmed in Tucson. While sitting in front of the computer to write this welcome post, that quote came to mind. It is relevant, since this his blog is about weird happenings in Tucson.

Ghost
Tucson has had a fair share of weird sightings over the years. Ghosts reportedly haunt many locations in the Old Pueblo. Some members of our community claim to have room mates, or even office mates, of the ghostly variety.
Some of our neighbors claim to have seen a UFO or two in the Tucson skies. It seems to me, that these otherworldy alien visitors steering those UFOs like Tucson so much, that they come to visit us regularly. Even monsters aren’t strangers to our city. Monsters, like the Chupacabra, have been purportedly seen by our neighbors, as well. The paranormal can also be seen on the streets of Tucson every day, in the form of paranormal researchers and investigators, psychics and mediums, and many others. We will learn more about these professionals in the paranormal field, in future posts.
This blog is about the Paranormal Old Pueblo. It’s about everything “weird” in Tucson. Sometimes we will revisit folklore or paranormal events from Tucson’s past. Sometimes, we will venture outside the city to learn more about paranormal happenings in nearby communities. You can even expect to read “haunted restaurant” reviews.
You should know that I am not a 100% believer in the paranormal. I’d like to say that I am somewhat skeptical, but I do want to believe. I’ve been intrigued by the paranormal my entire life. I am on a search for proof. On this note, yes, I have participated in paranormal investigations on many occasions, and do belong to one such investigative team. Mostly though, I find paranormal events fun to investigate and report. That’s what this blog is about.
