Scientists have a hold on ‘Tractor Beams’ on 44th anniversary of ‘Star Trek’
by Cherlyn Gardner Strong on Sep. 08, 2010, under UFOsOkay, so this is one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. Scientists have made advancements with that tractor beam, frequently seen in science fiction movies.
It is appropriate that this announcement coincides with the 44th anniversary of Star Trek.
According to Memory Alpha Star Trek Wiki:
“A tractor beam is an attenuated linear graviton beam used by starships and space stations to control the movement of external objects.”
This is one of those science fiction technologies that scientists are currently turning into a reality.
“Scientists at Australian National University have invented a Tractor Beam that can move larger objects than what could be transported in the past. And, the new tractor beam can move these objects about a meter or so with only the use of laser light.” – IT Wire

Perhaps once that tractor beam is perfected, we might be able to grab onto some of those illusive UFOs.
