China UFOs: Sighting reported in Kunming in Yunnan Province

by on Oct. 20, 2010, under UFOs

Just shortly after an updated status was posted here about UFOs in China, People’s Daily Online released the details of another sighting. This one is in Kunming in the Yunnan Province. See previous post for map.

The sighting actually took place on October 14th. The object in question was photographed by Kunming resident Dong Rong. The reason for the delay in reporting is that Dong approached an expert to look at his photo before releasing it to the public. The expert, Zhang Yifang is an honorary chairman of the Kunming UFO Research Association.

As stated in the article, “Zhang noted that there were two possibilities. Either Dong really photographed UFOs or it was caused by the reflected light from searchlights.”

Perhaps UFO researcher and astronomer Wang Sichao of the Purple Mountain Observatory needs to study the photo instead. He would provide us with a more decisive answer. Professor Wang’s investigations into UFO matters have proven to be very impressive over the last few months.

Visit People’s Daily Online to view the photo and read the detailed article about this latest incident in China.

    >His family and colleagues all think the objects look very much like UFOs (from People’s Daily)

Um, what does a UFO look like?  Sounds like there are some preconceived notions operating here.

    Cheers

I wasn’t going to post it since it didn’t appear to be a mass sighting. However, I was amused by the preconceived notions, as well as the expert’s conclusion: it’s either a UFO or it isn’t. It was nice, though, of Dong to take the photo for a professional opinion before offering it to the press. Hoping Professor Wang weighs in on this one. I’m liking his approach to these matters.

still “up in the air” on this one, pun intended.  there is a lot going on behind the scenes with sightings all around the world , mixed with a somewhat subdued “sensationalism”  as if the masses are quietly awaiting proof of the subject and i have, myself,  been amazed by our beloved space agency, nearly back tracking on several topics of interest.  aside from my banter., once again a spot-on display of reporting.

Thanks Wade. I find it interesting that we are still in UFO season. It usually lightens up by now.

actually you said it better than I.  in my dismal way , perhaps , i did come through with my thoughts.  i myself have wondered if ,indeed more people are looking skyward and perhaps seeing things they never observed before. OR, in fact their exists an increasing number of encounters. perhaps the clues are all there and only lack a “glue” to bring it all together.

oh and i am still smiling. it later caused me to dig through and find an REM collection of verse as well as some old Poco H!!!

That’s great! To all of the above. Made me smile to know you are still smiling. :-)

It exactly those two questions that keep me and many others looking for those answers. May not find them in my lifetime, but I think the glue will bring it all together someday.

you will get your answers soon.  You said UFO sightings should be decreasing now.  They are going to increase to a point where they can’t be explained away.  Rather than seek the view of scientists, seek the few of psychics who work in the area, that is the arena ufo’s and aliens fit into higher spiritual realms.

This case might best be referred to Richard Carrier for an answer, since there seem few things he doesn’t have an answer for.

I’m hoping, personally, for Professor Wang to weigh in.
