The challenge rules are very strict, requiring mental and physical work ups to start. The phenomena would need to be duplicatable because there’s a preliminary test and formal test before anything else happens. No one has ever even passed the preliminary test to move forward. I think that anything presented to Randi’s organization would have to be presented specifically by a scientist. Like Dr. Julie Beischel said in her blog yesterday, there are only a handful of scientists in the world who research the paranormal. Those scientists rely on private donations and grants to perform their research and they don’t receive a whole lot. Someday, a perhaps scientist like Beischel might find proof. I am curious about what could constitute absolute proof of some of these things. We’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, if people really want proof of these things, it would help if they would donate to these non-profit organizations like The Windbridge Institute.
